OK! The disconnecting issues are a thing of the past. It took us a long time, sorry about that, we had a really tough time finding out what was going wrong! Thank you so much for bearing with us! The latest patch is live now.

Below are the patch notes of everything we fixed since the removal of GFWL.
We're going to celebrate with a live stream and play with the Devs session on Friday, stay tuned for more info on that!

* Fix for '?' character in Japanese
* Push-to-talk enabled by default
* Textbox resized/improved readability
* Localization fixes
* Fix for invalid text being entered into chat or pilot names
* Leaderboards store the BEST score, not the LAST score
* Saving when exiting the trench loadout
* 'Press Start' screen can be skipped with any key/click
* UI Textures not JPEG-compressed anymore.
* Fixing crash issue when player left lobby
* Fixed invalid sound categories
* Improved matchmaking search times
* Fixed the sound issue in Martian maps
* Enabled some Xbox 360 items on the PC
* Adjusted prices/availability of certain items in the shop
* Fix for the Game Authentication Error that has been plaguing matches with 3 or more individuals
* If you have modifications to Buddha.cfg, please put them in User.cfg (you'll have to create it, same directory). Buddha.cfg gets replaced with every patch, while User.cfg should remain untouched
* Steam Saves will now look in %appdata%\Doublefine\IronBrigade\{64BitSteamID} first, so multiple Steam users can have their individual settings/progress. What this means is that it should be safe to move your files into that directory. Please note that {64BitSteamID} is an actual number and not literally "{64BitSteamID}". You don't have to move your files to the new directory; new saves will automatically get put there. However, old files will NOT be deleted (and so, to keep things clean, you might want to consider moving them).

Thank you all for your help with 1.09 and the generated logs. We've been able to identify some common patterns in them and have released a beta patch with a proposed fix. We're putting this beta up in order to see how it affects people in the wild. Please let us know if you see any improvement with the patch.

It's been almost three years since Double Fine Productions released the alternate-history tower defense/shooter hybrid Iron Brigade on Steam. That's a long time to wait to release the game's first update, and yet here it is: Some bug fixes, some tweaks, and, most important of all, the end of Games for Windows Live.

There's actually a pretty good reason for the new update, in spite of the years-ago release date. Double Fine announced yesterday that it has acquired the rights to the property from original publisher Microsoft, and thus it will now be a self-published game. "The great thing about this change is that now there are no obstacles to us creating the best possible experience for players," Iron Brigade creator Brad Muir said. "We have fixed all known issues as well as provided a great matchmaking experience for multiplayer. Vlad and his Monovision Menace are on the move again! In the best possible way!"

Iron Brigade was originally released in 2011 for the Xbox 360 under the title Trenched, although the name was quickly changed to Iron Brigade after a pre-existing trademark for a tabletop wargame named Trench came to light. The PC version, which includes the Rise of the Martian Bear DLC, came out a year later.

If you're curious, now might be the time to give Iron Brigade a shot. To celebrate the update, Double Fine has put the game on sale for 80 percent off its regular price, dropping it to $3/ 2 on Steam until June 2.

Dearest Iron Brigade players! Tis with great pleasure we announce that Double Fine recently regained the rights to publish Iron Brigade on PC and as such did an update to add Steam matchmaking, in addition to a few other bug fixes and improvements!

The update was released today for PC. To celebrate, the game is currently available for 80% off.

There are currently no plans to rename the game, "Trenched."

Product Update - Valve
The following issues have been fixed:
- The HUD was being cut off in certain resolutions (particularly 4x3 aspect ratios).
- Player stats were displayed as 0 when changing resolutions. The stats were always stored correctly, just displayed wrong.
- In multiplayer, the game continues when one player alt-tabs or loses focus. Previously, if one player paused the game by alt-tabbing, it would pause everyone’s game.
- The game now starts up in the same resolution as your desktop, rather than trying to switch to 1280x720. If you’ve already played the game, though, it will still use your current settings.
Product Release - Valve
Iron Brigade is now available on Steam and is 20% off until August 20th at 10AM Pacific Time! Additionally, save even more when you grab the Four pack to get you and three friends in on the action!
