Monaco: What's Yours Is Mine - NoRepro
Monaco is currently available via the Community Choice on the front page of steam! http://store.steampowered.com/

If we win, Monaco will be available at 50% off. Winning this vote would be immensely helpful to us, as the developers, and it would fill lobbies like mad. We've also promised to include the new rocket launcher in the main campaign if we win the vote!

Help us out! Help the Monaco community out! And then blow things up. It's the natural order of things. VOTE!

To celebrate the Summer Sale I've added a new gear type and added a new functionality to all projectile weapons!

RPG
By popular request, I've added a rocket launcher to the game. Currently it's only available in the editor, but if we win our upcoming community vote as part of the Steam Summer Sale, we will add them to the campaign as well! So get out there and help us win that vote!

BROKEN WINDOWS
The guns are not particularly useful in the later game, largely because they make so much noise. So I wanted to give them an additional secondary effect. Bullets now break windows, allowing you to walk through them when broken. Try out the shotgun in The Pickpocket's bank mission to do some real damage! Or use the crossbow to break a window silently. You can still hit guards through the windows as well.

Monaco starts out pretty easy, and then ramps up the difficulty pretty quickly. And then it keeps ramping. And ramping. And ramping.

I just patched the game to make the later stages more accessible (not easier) to people that play more casually. In particular:

*Missions in the Pickpocket's Story now require only 1 Clean Out instead of 2.

*Single Player allows you to use all available characters instead of triggering Game Over at 4 lives.

Monaco is hard. And when you die, especially if you've put 20 or 30 mintues into a mission, it can be frustrating. Hopefully these changes will help the more casual players without affecting how the more hardcore players play the game.

In response to this hilarious feature request, I just patched the game with a major buff to the hacker. http://www.pocketwatchgames.com/forums/index.php?topic=1310.msg5447#new

Contents of the buff:
*First off, the bug where outlets spawn behind staircases and ladders is fixed.
*Second, the Mole can smash walls with outlets... so that...
*There are double the number of outlets in the world. You will never be without an accessible outlet. The Hacker will still have to maintain his viruses as a resource, and they will be disposable and time dependent. But the increased frequency will dull the effect of good/bad luck in their spawn positions.
*And to improve things for the speed runners, Virus speed are increased by 50% or so. I think this is one of the biggest reasons he's not useful for speed runners.

We're bundling up two major updates to Monaco, scheduled to be released this coming Wednesday (July 3rd). There are still some issues we are trying to work through. Please help us beta test!

On PC, this update includes the Steam Workshop-powered mission editor!

In order to test the Mac beta, you will have to have bought the game via Steam or Humble Bundle. Follow instructions below to set the build to the beta branch.

IMPORTANT! The PC version contains some updates to the save file format and location. We are doing our best to make sure no one loses progress, and we're hoping you can help us test this update.

So... Please backup your save data first. You can find HighScores.bin (which contains your progress) in c:/program files/steam/userdata/[your user id #]/113020/ You may also have save data located in c:/program files/steam/steamapps/common/Monaco/SaveData

Updating to beta branch
Right click on Monaco in your Steam library and click on Properties
Go to the Betas tab
[On Mac, type "gentleman" into the password box]
Change the dropdown box to Beta and click OK.
The game should then update and you can try it out.

Questions:
  • Does the game carry over your progress? (you can always downgrade back to the non-beta if progress does not import correctly)
  • If you are on OSX 10.6.x, does it work? If not, please send along your RFE.log, located in users/[user]/Library/Application Support/Pocketwatch Games/Monaco. You may need to unhide the Library folder, using these instructions: http://www.wikihow.com/Unhide-the-User-Library-Folder-on-a-Mac

(major) Known issues on OSX:
  • Sound volumes are off (guards are quiet, helicopter is inaudible)
  • Rumble does not work with gamepads
  • We believe there's a shader issue with 10.6.8 that we are trying to work through. If anyone is available to help out with this issue, please let us know! (email support@pocketwatchgames.com)

So... put your Mole hats on and get to digging!
