NoReconnect Error:

Please look in your KillingFloor/system folder for a Steam_AppID.txt file and delete it. This should fix your issue. At that point DO NOT launch the Toy Master mod via the Steam Library. As of now we have disabled this ability and it will give you an error. You can still play the mod by launching Killing Floor and going to Game Modes when it is downloaded.

We are looking into why this file is being generated and why it is causing this problem. We do not have the ability to remove the file from players systems so please help spread the word if you know players who have this issue.

Slow Server Browser:
It is overloaded from the amount of players/servers from the free weekend. As a work around for that we suggest using the Steam server browser for now.

Right click on Steam in your System tray and select the "Servers" option.

For server admins who have had trouble updating their servers to Killing Floor 1062:

Once we reproduced this locally, we managed to fix this issue by navigating to the folder where the SteamCMD executable is and deleting the "Appcache" folder that is part of the SteamCMD folder structure and running the update again.

So any admins who are experiencing this issue should attempt this fix.

Nope.

I do enjoy how Killing Floor’s monsters look like people in Halloween costumes, the sort of thing one could make with a few hours and some household supplies. Given me a black bodysuit, some tights, cotton wool, pipe cleaners, socks, and wire coat hangers, and I’ll make you a Crawler that’ll win you pity in your office costume contest. Unsurprisingly, Killing Floor gets into Halloween in a big way.

The co-op survival FPS’s annual spooky event launched yesterday, and KF is also part of Steam’s ten-game Free Weekend Weekend, so all and sundry can come fight the horrible, horrible dolls that are murderous and horrible.

This is a hotfix to address the following issues with the Halloween update. It addresses the following issues:

  • Fleshpounds will now spawn in wave games
  • Toy Master will now launch Killing Floor properly from the Steam Library if you launch the Toy Master application instead of Killing Floor
  • Link to new DLC bundles now points to them properly (many 75% off!)

This is a required update for clients and servers. Servers will need to be updated before you will see them back in the server browser.

The Toy Master server files can now also properly be downloaded via the SteamCMD tool.

Our 2013 multiplayer game of the year

just got a little better. Tripwire Interactive has been great about adding content to

Rising Storm

for free after release, and today it did again with the Armored Assault: Free Content Pack. To celebrate, the game is only $5 until September 26.

The Armored Assault updated applies to both Rising Storm and Red Orchestra 2. It adds a new weapon, the German MG 42 light machine gun, which is a veteran unlock for the Axis MG class, and two new tanks. The first is the Russian T-70, a small, fast tank that can carry two players and a 45mm cannon. The second is the German Panzer III, which is a smaller version of the Panzer IV, armed with a 50mm cannon.

There also two new maps: the jungle-themed Kobura where the Japanese team attacks US defensive positions, and Tula Outskirts, a remake of a map from the original Red Orchestra. The Arad 2 map has also been updated to accommodate the new vehicles.

If you don't already own Rising Storm, it's on sale this week for $5, or 75% off its normal price. If the trailer above didn't convince you that you should have bought it already,

Evan's review

will.

In just a few minutes the "Rising Storm Beta" application will be updated to the latest beta build of the game! Featuring bug fixes, some community feature requests, and the new vehicles and weapon!

We will be opening up our server tomorrow to host the first outside the office test so stay tuned for an event announcement with the exact time!

PSA:

As a heads up for those who already installed the beta. Until just now the beta was using the live games Config files. To address this problem please do the following (we are updating this in the beta but for those who already ran it you will need to do this by hand or delete your config files).

Navigate to your Rising Storm Beta install directory and drill into ROGame/Config. It should look something like this: D:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Rising Storm Beta\ROGame\Config. Once there open up the DefaultEngine.ini file and search for the following section:

[Windows.StandardUser]
MyDocumentsSubDirName=

And make it look like this:

[Windows.StandardUser]
MyDocumentsSubDirName=Rising Storm Beta

Then save the folder. The next time you launch the game it should use the right directory.

In the near future we plan on rolling out an update to the Rising Storm beta so the community can help us balance some of our upcoming content to Red Orchestra 2! (We recommend you do not install it just yet as you will have to do a huge update/download when we release the new build). So stay tuned to the official forums and here at the Official Game Group for more information!

TWI Ladder and Tripwire Interactive are also pleased to announce the Fall 2014 Season for competitive for RO2/Rising Storm. There will be two competitions in parallel - one for the classic Territory game mode, the other for Countdown mode. Both will run for 10 weeks, starting from Sunday 14 September, so there is still time to sign your team for a chance at the total prize pool of $1,000 for each ladder!
