Steam Summer Camp Sale 2011 Contest and Sweepstakes
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Void where prohibited by law.
Eligibility. Entry open to any user holding a Steam account in good standing with at least ten (10) games in the account’s Wishlist. No payment is required; a Steam account may be established without purchase. One entry per user per Ticket, one manual entry per Summer Camp Activity, one Steam account per individual, and one Sweepstakes win per user.. Employees of Sponsor (including directors and officers) and their immediate families or affiliates are not eligible.
Entry. Entries are open from 10:00 am Pacific Daylight Time on June 30, 2011, to 10:00 am Pacific Daylight Time on July 11, 2011 (the “Summer Sale Period”).
(a) Achievements Contest: This contest provides an electronic Ticket for each Achievement completed during the Summer Sale Period. The Achievement tasks corresponding to each Summer Camp Activity are listed here <link>. Completing one (1) Achievement will produce one (1) electronic Ticket. Tickets may be redeemed for Prizes as described below.
(b) Sweepstakes. Each completed Achievement will automatically provide the user with one (1) entry for the Sweepstakes drawing. To manually enter the Sweepstakes, each eligible entrant must print his or her name, address, city, state, country, postal code, email address, Steam account name, and telephone number, as well as the name of the Summer Camp Activity objective that the entry is for, on a self-addressed 4”x6” note card and mail the completed form to: Valve Corporation, P.O. Box 1688, Bellevue, WA 98009-1688. Note cards may be mailed as postcards or in envelopes. No e-mailed or faxed alternate entries are eligible. Facsimiles, photocopies or mechanical reproductions of entries will be void. An alternate entry must be postmarked during the Summer Sales period to be eligible for the Grand Prize Drawing. Alternate entries received after July 18, 2011 will not be eligible for the Sweepstakes. Each user may submit one alternative entry per Summer Camp Activity. Proof of sending or submitting an alternate entry is not proof of receipt of such alternate entry.
(c) Entries generated by script, macro or other automated means will be void. Sponsor is not responsible for misdirected, incomplete, lost, late, illegible, undelivered, inaccurate or delayed entries, or for technical, hardware, or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions or other errors or problems that may limit or affect a person’s ability to participate in the Contest or the Sweepstakes. In the event of sabotage, acts of God, terrorism or threats thereof, computer virus or other events or causes beyond the Sponsor’s control, which corrupt the integrity, administration, security or proper operation of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, cancel or suspend the Contest or the Sweepstakes. In the event of cancellation, Sponsor reserves the right to award prizes from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to the event requiring such cancellation. False or deceptive entries or acts will render the entrant ineligible.
Redemption of Tickets for Contest Prizes. Entrants will be able to redeem Tickets for prizes. Prizes are listed here <link>. Prizes may be added or removed during the Summer Sale Period. Prizes are not assignable or transferable. Prizes may have monetary value determined by their purchase price (if any). The winner is solely responsible for any taxes applicable to the prizes. Prizes correspond to specific games and require that game for use.
Sweepstakes Winners. Sponsor will select one hundred (100) winners by random drawing from all valid entries by July 12, 2011. No later than August 1, 2011, Sponsor will hold a random drawing for alternative entries received, using the same odds as applied for the Achievements based Sweepstakes drawing (determined by the number of Achievement entries). Sponsor will award prizes to the alternative entry winners, if any. Sponsor will contact each winner via email to the address registered to the winning Steam account. The decision of the Sponsor will be final and binding in all matters.
Sweepstakes Prizes. The Sweepstakes winners will each receive the top ten (10) games on their Steam Wishlist at the time of the drawing. Unreleased games will be delivered to the winner at the time of their release. Prize value is the purchase price of those games at the time of the drawing. Prizes are not assignable or transferable. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. The winner is solely responsible for any taxes applicable to the prizes.
Release: By entering into the Contest and/or Sweepstakes, each entrant agrees to release, discharge, and hold harmless Sponsor from any liability whatsoever, and waive any and all causes of action, related to any claims, costs, injuries, losses, taxes, expenses or damages of any kind, either at law or in equity, whether known or unknown, arising out of or in connection with this sweepstakes, including the possession, use or inability to use any prize. If chosen as a winner, each entrant hereby consents to the use of his/her name, likeness, photograph in any and all media for promotional purposes in any manner by Sponsor, its designees and its advertising and promotion agencies without further compensation or notification, except where prohibited by law.
General: Sponsor shall not be liable for (i) lost, misdirected, damaged, illegible, incomplete, or late entries, (ii) any conditions beyond the control of Sponsor that may cause the contest to be disrupted, or (iii) any losses or damages of any kind resulting directly or indirectly from acceptance or use of any prizes awarded in this contest or for participation in this contest. No substitutions by the winners will be permitted, but Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Sponsor reserves the right to amend these Sweepstakes Rules or to terminate the Sweepstakes.
