-Quick Review-
Annyeonghaseyo (안녕하세요), The Civilization V ・Civilization and Scenario Pack: Korea will add the Korean Civilization and the scenario 鉄amurai Invasion of Korea.

-Detailed breakdown review-
Story: When you play the scenario “Samurai Invasion of Korea” you will choose between the factions: Japan, Korea, China, or Manchuia. The scenario was based off Toyotomi Hideyoshi's Japanese Invasion of Korean from 1592 to 1597.
(Reference: http://epicworldhistory.blogspot.com/2012/06/japanese-invasion-of-korea.html )

Gameplay: Korea is an outstanding turtle-scientific-nation, they're so great at it one their special units is called a “Turtle Ship”. My terrible puns aside, Korea gains +2 science for all specialists and great person tile improvements. They additionally receive a tech boost each time a scientific build or wonder is built in the Korean capital. The Korean special units are the Hwach'a (which replaces the Trebuchet), and the Turtle Ship (which replaces the Caravel).

I have actually been on the receiving side of the outstanding Korean scientific advancements... My brother favors playing as the Koreans (mostly because it compliments his turtle-defensive-peace-loving-style... he's such a nicer guy then me.), and if I let him sit over in the corner by himself he will be launching space ships while the rest of us are throwing rocks at each other. (soooo... naturally I invade when my navy rivals the British Royal Navy... coincidentally I was actually playing as England, in this specific story. His island was no mach for my perpetual Ship of the line and Longbowman bombardment x20.)

Achievements: There are four achievements relevant to the “Samurai Invasion of Korea” Scenario: Win as China, win as Japan, Win as Korea, and lastly... lose as Korea which is humorously titled “Taekwon-DOH!” (One of my favorite Civ achievement titles. I actually practice TaeKwonDo, so that's part of it.)

Price: Civilization V – Civilization and Scenario Pack: Korea is priced at $4.99, Civilization V: Korea and Wonders of the Ancient World – Combo Pack is priced at $7.49, last the best deal for the most DLC is the Sid Meier's Civilization V: Complete Edition for $49.99.

Conclusion: I've played as the Korean civilization before, while definitely strong and effective, I've always been partial to total conquest victories (mostly because it's faster paced, more engaging, and I get to slap that smug expression off all the other NPC's faces) I definitely recommend this DLC for anyone playing Civilization V.

Civilization V DLC - Korean Civilization & Scenario

This is the highly powerful science turtle civ, apart from that other one.

Korea is one of the most powerful civilizations available. It focuses on science generation, as you can see by Korea's unique abilities:

* +2 Science for all specialists and Great Person tile improvements
* Receive a tech boost each time a scientific building/Wonder is built in the Korean capital

It's quite fun to blow past everyone else's tech, have WWII submarines in the 1840s and maintain what is pretty much the world's best army, especially if it's not the largest. As such, it's best suited for building tall - having a small number of densely populated cities. The Turtle Boat and Hwach'a unique units help you with this, being powerful units meant for defensive purposes.

Korea's AI is supposedly peaceful and tolerant, with a focus on science and building tall. They're not guaranteed to stick to that, though. First game I saw them in, they didn't like me much and tried to forward settle, probably because I was the only other civ in the game that could compete with them in science. (They were summarily conquered by Carthage.)

Speaking of Babylon, they're the other powerful DLC science civ. They're more technical to play, but have a greater early science advantage - and early advantages can be very useful, even if Korea has slightly more overall science potential throughout the game. The purchase value of the Babylon DLC isn't quite as good since you only get the one civ, but if you want more science and potentially more interesting science, you'd do well to try them as well.

I haven't played the included scenario...yet.

If you want science, I'd recommend this.
