Worth buying on sale. It's a perfect game to enjoy cruising around on the islands using a variety of cars.
People complain that it does not work anymore - I have Windows 10 and everything works fine, including online mode.

Oh dear - loved the previous game, although that had mixed reviews also I believe - and all I thought was missing really from TDU1 was weather and night driving. This should be perfect then? Unfortunately, not. The designers have totally ruined the experience this time around by introducing some damned silly license test "mini-games", which you have to complete before moving on in the game - a real hassle if you just want a quick race / blast. Now it's not that I don't like a bit of a challenge occasionally, but these test games are just not enjoyable or rewarding enough to justify how hard they are, and surely the actual racing should be harder than mere competency tests? It would certainly be less boring having to re-attempt a race over and over, as opposed to endlessly driving in and out of some cones. Luckily I bought this in the sale, but even at £15 I've not had my money's worth, as my patience has run out with attaining the licenses - I'm just too bored to put the effort in.

Still good for a few hours. Yes, it's offline, but the feelings when you explore the island in the night with good music are magical! Still worth some Euros!

I have played over 500 hours on this game on the 360 and i dont regret any of those hours, as this is my favourite game ever made, but dont get me wrong, there are some downsides to it.

Lets jump straight into the pros and cons.

Pros:

1: Extensive and engaging storyline.
2: Very good soical racer in its time.
3: Lots of things to do after you have completed the storyline, with friends or without friends.
4: An insane amount of cars.
5: An installable "Unoffical Patch" that grants you even more cars.
6: MASSIVE open world all there for the taking
7: In its time it had a great community.

Cons:

1: Impossible for new players, as registering an account is very difficult, and if you are on windows 10, theres a 50/50 chance you will or will not be able to play.
2: Atari and Eden games were dead many years ago, so dont expect any new updates or customer support.
3: No email verification, so if you forget your password, your save data and your entire account are done for.
4: Some glitches and bugs that can be frustrating, but do not happen very often.
5: Pretty hefty price tag for a game that is this old and may or may not work.
6: Graphics are very outdated, but that is to be expected from a early 2011 game.
7: Servers that are practically dead, in my past few days of playing i have not found one online player, which is very frustrating in my opinion.

Sugguestions to beat the cons:

1: DO NOT BUY IF YOU ARE ON WINDOWS 10, and research on a way to make an account, im sure there is a way.
2: Install the unoffical patch, as this grants many new cars to play around with.
3: Write your password down.
4: If these glitches do happen, for example hitting a stop sign in some areas will flip your car, do not get frustrated! You can always dodge or overcome these glitches.
5: Buy this game when it is on sale. It goes down to around 4.99 USD occaisonally.
6: Not really a fix for this one, but maybe there is some kind of mod out there that can give you a better graphics experience.
7: Find some friends that are playing! Post in the community discussions and look for people that are already playing the game.

Overall, this is my favourite game ever made. If one day i become a billionare, i am going to buy out atari and eden games and make a tdu3. Thanks for reading and i hope this helped you make your decision on whether to buy the game or not.

TLDR; Multiplayer DOES still function (for me anyway), Meh car handling, decent variety of cars, nice visuals, awful story & voice acting and 2 very large maps (takes about an hour to drive around them). 7 out of 10,
ONLY BUY WHEN ON SALE FOR 75% OFF

Test Drive Unlimited 2 is an open world driving game with a heavy emphasis on the "super car" lifestyle; collecting cars, houses and clothes and various other material possesions. There is a story but its so badly written and voice acted, you wont miss anything interesting if you choose to skip the cutscenes, it's just a weak excuse to have races across Ibiza and Hawaii. The actual racing itself is fairly arcadey, cars drift easily and generally don't have much feeling of weight but some simulation-ness is still present, of you mash the accelerator while drifting and you have the driving aids turned off you'll just spin out. The AI is fairly dumb in the early game, but it can get vaugely difficult when you're getting into the mid to late game. I can't speak about the multiplayer gameplay, but let it be known that IT DOES STILL WORK, just not that well and the multiplayer is on a ticking time bomb of whenever Atari decides to shut down support.

Overall this game is worth a try if it's on sale and you like cars and you if can bully some friends to get it as well, you can get a fair bit of play time out of it.

The rumors of TDU2's demise are greatly exaggerated.

I played this game extensively on Xbox 360 and migrated over to PC when my old 360 called it quits. I was wary about buying TDU2 because of all the reviews stating that the servers are down, that you can't log into the game, et cetera. Those are all false. I've been playing this online with real people for several days now. The servers aren't dead and they're not ghost towns, there are many people roaming Ibiza and Hawaii and most are willing to race or exchange messages. The game does require you to create an account in order to play online, but that is easily accomplished by visiting the TDU2 website and signing up there. Installation went well, and the initial start up and every start up since has not posed any problems for me on Windows 8.1.

TDU2 is an older racing game, but is still a lot of fun, especially if you enjoy collecting cars and free roaming two huge islands. I would happily pay $19.99 for this game right now on PC, and I definitely recommend it at the sale price of $4.99.

I haven't even started playing this crap and I'm already feeling like getting a refund. The installation was ♥♥♥♥ing hell.
Registration? ? ? ? Worst experience ever. Their servers can't even handle .css and I gotta register on my own, TYPPING OR SAERCHING FOR THEIR WEBSITE... Game uploads via their own program, NOT STEAM. I played the game on my friends computer and it was quite trash. Handling is terrible, story is trash, graphics suck... I only bought it because it was 5€ and I wanted to play something online with my friends and just drive around the city. Seriously, if you are as sensitive as me, DON'T EVEN CONSIDER BUYING.

This game won't even start - TDU2 Launcher returns Error #03.
Despite following numerous user-suggested solution on the Internet, nothing will force this piece of ♥♥♥♥ to start.
Atari's website is still selling this game, despite their support and forums for this game being long dead.
No articles help in making this game start.
Don't waste your money - if you can, buy console version that seems to work (♥♥♥♥ you for that Atari), or look for "genuine PC copy" on torrents.
That is exaclty the kind of publisher attitude that reinforces piracy.

It's a good game still. Though it freezes for me times to times and takes ages for the launcher to launch the game. Its not that bad but it may make you a bit mad. But the game is still fun and awesome for a old game.

I'd say 7,5/10
I just love this game alot. That's why i gave it a good rating. It's not that bad how alot of people say that it is. Yeah the servers may be a bit bad and stuff but the game is still good.

Best open world Driving game to date. i say this because i own a Logitec G27 and i had to tweak some settings but once your dialed in. you just drive, and drive, and it just doesn't get old. hit the pavment and fly by cops or take a nice dirt road and rally your car getting the windshield and the car muddy as hell. pretend to stop and get gas, see how far you can go into the woods before you hit a tree. ohh and turn off the phone calls those people are annoying. get the subaru it's the best! hehe.
