Not enough lens flares 0/10
Serious review BELOW!
First off, forgive me for any wrong Star Trek knowledge. I got into Star Trek due to J.J. Abrams' films, and I'm only on Star Trek: Enterprise right now. I'm at Season 4 of it. So, yes, I am BECOMING a fan.
Star Trek Online! Through my small knowledge, this is the first Star Trek MMO. This, if my research is correct... Takes place 22 years after Star Trek: Nemesis, which was focused around the Borg, as is STO quite a bit, mostly very early in game sadly. The Borg are basically Star Trek's Cybermen with miniature Death Stars and Allsparks. You can play as either Romulan Republic (I may have gotten the name wrong), Klingon Empire, or the Federation. There are multiple playable races, including two guest stars from Skyrim! The Khajit and the tailess more terrifying Argonians! (That was a joke, incase it warped over your head.. Heh.. heh. I'll shut up)
+ The Music screams Star Trek, my favorite is easily the Romulan Battle Suite.
+ The graphics are quite nice. I wish mouthes actually opened more than a centimeter when people talked though.
+ Stays true to the Star Trek universe
+ Not entirely pay to win. Everything ingame can be obtained without using real money. It is a lot easier to use money though.
+ Quite decent story telling.
- Where's the mystery, drama, and characters that have detail put into them?(Reminder, this is from what I've seen so far.) This game is more like the movies with FAR LESS lens flares. I hope to see in Season 10 some improvements where it feels more like Star Trek TOS. This feels more like the Alternate Universe movies.
- Zen and Dilithium should be a bit easier to obtain. I put up an offer for some Zen and for six days I got no Zen. Either it's a bug, or exchange needs to work imediately.
- I wish ranks didn't go by so fast. I reached Vice Admiral by the end of The Romulan Front.
To be continued
