What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“As a small development team, it's difficult to collect a significant amount of data. For this reason, we are going to initially launch in early access. Our hope is to try to get as many new players to Gala Collider as possible so we can work with the community to put our absolute best foot forward when we officially launch the game as a full release. We'll also be adding new ways to play, including a solo play experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our plan is to launch in Early Access in late 2019 and aim for a full release in 2020. We will continue to post-development updates on our website.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to continue to develop Gala Collider even after leaving early access with a regular stream of updates introducing new cards and strategies, but the main difference between the early access version and the full release version will be the addition of solo play "Scenarios", "Training", and "Play vs. AI" modes. In our initial Early Access launch, gameplay will be limited to 1 vs. 1 multiplayer only.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version of the game is fun and completely playable, it includes all of the core functionality of the game that is listed in the "About this game" features section. While playing in Early Access, you can enjoy cross-platform 1 vs. 1 online multiplayer games. The full release of the game may include a solo play experience, cosmetic embellishments, as well as multiplayer balance changes.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Regardless of its launch state, Gala Collider will remain a free to play title. Ongoing development will be supported via expansion card packs. These card packs are NOT random and you always know exactly what cards you will be able to add to your deck. It's important to us that expansion packs provide unique ways to play and open the door for new strategies while remaining balanced and competitive with the included starter decks.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want to work closely with the community to hear feedback about strategies and card synergies so that we can make necessary balance changes to give players a variety of playstyles. We have a community discord, subreddit, and web forum, where our community can receive support, find matches, share deck builds, and discuss strategies.”

About This Game

Gala Collider is an exciting space-exploration expandable card game with a rich story and intuitive mechanics played on an ever-changing planetary map. Compete head-to-head against other players as you move your armada, defend your homeland, and partake in strategic tactical battles. Master your strategy by researching new cards, scouting your enemies, and outwitting your opponents.

GAMEPLAY

When you play cards on the galaxy map, they transform into 3D models of ships or structures that you can move around from planet to planet. Turns happen simultaneously, so you will need to anticipate, bluff, and out-think your opponent during each turn if you want to win. Your strategy relies on the deck you build and your choice of technology options selected before you play. During the game, you can modify your strategy by adding powerful, new cards to your deck from your tech-pool. Explore worlds, colonize sectors, and gain resources to expand your galactic empire and conquer your enemies.
