Storm Engine 2 at first glance

It's been a loooooong time since the last video. One of the biggest reasons is that we have been ironing out engine's bugs, enhancing rendering and porting over almost all existing tools (Material Editor doesn't help making materials quicker, so it was left broken, DoomScript Debugger was disabled in vanilla Doom 3, so it's in queue for resurrection).

This video is rather long'ish, so we suspect only diehard fans of the game engines, iD Software and their legacy, and of course Phaeton game fans, will watch it all :)

Steel Storm: Burning Retribution é um jogo de ação e tiros visto de cima para baixo (top-down), com o mesmo espírito que os jogos da velha guarda. Marca o regresso deste tipo de jogos com novas reviravoltas. O jogo possui um sistema de pontos orientado à jogabilidade competitiva, e foi desenhado por pessoas que gostam de jogos de ação rápida, exércitos de inimigos, mundos destruíveis e explosões avassaladoras.

Steel Storm: Burning Retribution is a top down action shooter with old school spirit. It marks the return of top-down shooters with new twists. The game has score oriented competitive gameplay, and is designed for people who like fast paced action, hordes of smart enemies, destructible worlds and ground shaking explosions.

The events take place in an alternative universe where you control an advanced hovertank, packed with the most advanced and sophisticated weapons. Your task is simple, but nevertheless not trivial. In the fight against extraterrestrial invaders, you must prevail!

Have not played PVP, but have played Co-Op.

This is a fun little game that reminds of of those old scrolling space shooters from my youth. Had a blast tooling around and blowing things up with some friends.

Graphics are acceptable, but not lacking. Performance has been good with minimal issues. Over-all I would rate this game for a generous 7/10.

I got Steel Storm a while back in HiB3, didn't play it much at the time, but thought I'll give it a play now.
- I like it so far. It's a good fun and challenging game.
- I really appreciate your support for Linux.
- The AI seems quite good, and the combat is fun and challenging.
- I think it's perfectly okay to ask players to give the game a good review or rating, and I will do that.
- I will buy your new MOBA game. I hope the Linux support comes for that too.
- had a minor issue with framerate dropping to 6fps on one occassion. I think there's an issue with the AI getting bogged down in certain situation near a ramp. No big deal - I killed the tanks with the rogue AI and the game sped up again.
- the "other dev" who gave you a zero on metacritic is an ♥♥♥-hat if you ask me :)

Apart from this being a boring game with controls so bad that it causes dizziness, I don't recommend this game because of the behaviour of the developers themselves.

Because of its low User Score on Metacritic (4.7 out of 10), the devs made an official announcement where they asked gamers to spam-vote perfect 10s in order to manipulate the result, while at the same time calling those who gave them low reviews "♥♥♥♥♥s" and "trolls", among other insults. When I and a few others remarked on how unprofessional that was, we had our comments and posts deleted, as well as our names included in a very public "Hall of Shame" (which was also deleted a few days later) where the developers attempted to ridicule and humiliate us as "trolls".

When almost no one posted any favourable user reviews on Metacritic, they asked Steam to remove their Metacritic score from the game's store page, as it gave them bad publicity (and that's why it's no longer here), but not before one of the developers (called Alexander "motorsep" Zubov) posted a fake review, giving his own game a 9 out of 10.

Companies that behave this way don't deserve any business.
