Absolutely incredible game. Sadly, when I started, GameSpy had shut down so I wasn't able to experience the multiplayer. So, I played the story. Personally, this is one of my all time favorite games now that I have beaten it. You battle to take down the three main gangs of Stilwater: The Ronin, The Sons of Samedi, and The Brotherhood. There are tons of things to do in this world besides just killing gangbangers. I really recommend this game to anyone who plays videogames. Can't wait to play Saints Row: The Third!

This game is very good for people who don't have enough money to afford a "Proper Gaming PC" (Like myself) I play it and however this game is good for being made when it was made (I have no clue when it was made lol) but this game is really great and I encourage people to get the game :D

Eventho this game is old and not that pretty its still a great game, after this game Saints Row coundnt compete with GTA titles so they went the SR4 route with super powers and not being serious but this game is pretty serious with a story line and everything but i know what youre thinking, who buys a game like this for the story? I just want to blow stuff up. This game is good for both the story and just messing around blowing things up and using cheats overall i would recommend this game for someone who has a bad computer (like me) but still wants to enjoy PC gaming and having an open world GTA esc game. 8/10 I would play it again

Awesome game with an interesting story and unique gameplay.

Have put numerous hours into the PS3 version of this game and its DLCs.

If I'm going to be honest, the PC port is pretty bad as it is highly unoptimised and has many performance errors, issues and bugs. One way around this is to install idolninja's Gentlemen of the Row mod, which is a customisable mod pack that has a wide range of options. (Would highly recommend this). Default control setup is awful.

I honestly prefer the console version only because the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions have DLC and less performance issues and have decent controls, but the PC version has mods.

Due to GameSpy closing down a few years back, co-op and multiplayer don't work anymore.

If you would rather better performance and two story expansions and one clothing and style expansion, choose the console version.
If you would rather have mod it but only have the base game, choose the PC version.

Great game, but horrible port. Possibly one of the worst ports of all time.

Now this is a GREAT game and I strongly recommend it, espicially since I picked it up for $2.49 and it provided me with 50 hours of good fun. But the pc port has a ton of issues, and I'm going to list them here.

-There are some optimization issues. Now I have a fairly low end laptop with intel hd 4400 and 6 gigs of ram, and the game ran ok with the lowest settings at 720p with 25fps-40fps and noticeable stutter when driving. but I've also heard of people running the game with a gtx 960 and such and are getting ATROCIOUS framerates on max settings (keep in mind this game came out in 2009, that's 7 years ago.)

-Even with the GOTR mod my game was crashing CONSTANTLY. It was so bad that everytime I completed a mission, I had to restart the game to make sure that it wouldn't crash mid mission. It was incredebly annoying and led to many a times of me throwing my mouse because it crashed mid mission. This could of been just my hardware but either way it was horrible.

-Although I haven't had many noticiable glitches, there are a ton of reports of different game breaking stuff on forums. I had a problem where whenever I completed a certain mission, my game would crash annoyingly.

Althought some problems still exist with it, I suggest install Gentlemen of the Row. It'll fix a lot of the problems and allow you to customize what mods you want. http://idolninja.com/sr2.php

I love Saints Row, especially Saints Row 2 but this game is UNPLAYABLE on the PC! It's truly the worst version of any game I've played an I couldn't even make it past the first act before I said 'screw it' and went back to the PS3 version.

For a start, I had to put it on a pretty low resolution as it would crash if I didn't, if I lowered the resolution even further, to the point that it looked like a PS2 game, I might be able to resolve some of these issues but I'd much rather play the PS3 version since I know that actually WORKS.

I also noticed that the controls suck ♥♥♥, I know that it's not easy to set out a control scheme on a keyboard but these controls aren't convenient and they're difficult to remember. I think that this game has controller support but unfortunately I don't care. I should be able to play it with either, I SHOULD but I can't, because half of these controls feel like they were mapped out by putting a large drawing of a keyboard on the wall and throwing darts at it, whilst blindfolded.

I noticed that the frame rate would take a dive whenever I went into an area where physics were plentiful. In Carlos' recruitment mission, where I had to drive a toe truck to a car and pick it up to take to a garage, the game slowed down to a crawl, going as low as 3 FPS for extended periods of time. Whilst this was going on the floor kept disappearing. It kept going invisisble and things and pedestrians fell through into the textureless abyss below. HOW IS THIS IN ANY WAY ACCEPTABLE!?

So, after making stunt jumps with no ground to land on, getting through the slow ♥♥♥ crawl of 'frame drop canyon' and mastering the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ control scheme, the game decided to give me one last middle finger by crashing the game, just at the end of that mission. I'm glad that I saved regularly whilst doing this as I experienced crashes a lot at the end of missions, usually when I hit the confirmation key to move out of the reward scheme.

This was when I gave the game the finger and stopped playing, ♥♥♥♥ this port. Do yourselves a favor and avoid it like the plague. You can get an Xbox 360 for £50 now, which on it you could get the original Saints Row and this game. Sure, it would cost you a bit more but it'll work, be playable and most importantly you'd be able to make it through the first act without the game ♥♥♥♥ing out on you.

They should give out refunds for this broken ♥♥♥♥ heap but I doubt that will happen.

Love the game but the sheer number of issues and very frequent crashes makes this a very sour experience.

IF you can run it well then go ahead and play it but if you can't then you might as well not bother.
