A new, seemingly unstoppable enemy, supported by the zealots of The Order, now seeks to eradicate mankind: UEF, Aeon Loyalist, and Cybran alike. With their backs against the wall and staring into the abyss, the tattered remnants of Humanity’s forces must put aside old hatreds and band together as they prepare to make one last desperate stand. One last chance. An alliance forged in blood, steel and hope, they turn to face the dark.

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance is the expansion that brings the Supreme Commander community to life. There is one new campaign that can be played through three times, once for each faction, with some differences in dialogue and secondary objectives between factions. New units add to mid- and late-game strategy, and the new faction gives greater variety in multiplayer games.

What sets Supreme Commander apart from other RTS games is a combination of in-game cinematic graphics and the tactical nature of viewing the field. A player can rotate the map in almost any direction and at any angle to see units firing on each other. This is the first RTS game I've played that uses zooming for navigating the field as an alternative to a minimap. If you zoom out far enough, units show up as icons that immediately tell the player what role each unit plays. This unique "tactical view" also has a dual-screen mode, which allows the player to monitor and act on two places on the battlefield at once.

The community of Forged Alliance players is still alive and well, with thousands of active players on a community-driven lobby (Forged Alliance Forever, FAF) that also keeps the game up-to-date.

If you plan to get Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance, get it together with the original Supreme Commander. The two games are like computer desk and chair; they each function fine on their own, but put them together and you get a whole different experience.

This game is easily one of the worst RTS games, I have ever played.

Reasons I Dislike this game.
1. Poor Optimization: I don't know if this game is poorly optimized or not, but this game does not run very smooth. A game like Starcraft 2, which I believe has higher minimum requirements runs real smooth, and looks graphically superior.

2. Time Investment: I went through the tutorial and boy was it boring - don't forget lengthy. The game did not engage me from the start and the dialogue was cheesy too. See a game like Endless Legend, has a lengthy tutorial too, but that was better done and surprisingly engaging. It's a surprise considering it's the first 4X game, I ever played and it wasn't too daunting.

3. Mechanics: I'm assuming it's just me not being fan of this style of game. A game like Starcraft is about micro management, having control of a small portion of units and wreaking havoc on your opponent. Supreme Commander on the other hand is more about macro management, and that felt more like working on a spreadsheet than a game to me. * The controls feel kind of wonky and not very fluid like Starcraft or Star Wars Empire At War.

4. The Pace: The pacing in this game feels real slow and isn't rewarding. It takes hours and hours to build a base and in a few seconds it could be destroyed. The investment of time does not equal a satisfactory ratio in fun.

5. Story: Story wise I can't really say much. I heard the story changes based on what class you choose, so that's kind of cool. I've also seen several cut-scenes on Youtube and they're kind of nice. The dialogue in the game is kind of boring though. I bet if the story was told in a graphic novel form I'd enjoy it, but for the short time I played it, I haven't. My brother who's completed the game on his friends PC didn't enjoy the story and he's more into RTS games than me.

There's probably more to say, but I didn't play too long. I don't wan't to spend more time thinking about this game.

* There's a rumor that the best or one of the best selling RTS games of all time is making a return. Yep, Starcraft HD, RTS gamer's rejoice and be on the lookout.

Easily one of the best RTS games anyone will ever play. Got it a couple years ago and played 50 hours pretty much nonstop. School started and i forgot about it. Just rediscovered it and am playing it with my friends. We played a game and ending up having one friend betray us so we all turned on him but not until he destroyed our resource productions. I'm sure the four enemies we were facing were very confused.

An absolute masterpiece of RTS games. But you have to like controlling things on a grand scale!

Good campaigns, great in coop with friends against the AI, or in big 4v4 or 6v6 battles. Competitive 1v1 multiplayer is also very interesting with a high skill level.

The multiplayer community is alive at Forged Alliance Forever.

1) Get Earth map mod
2) play multiplayer with bro
3) play as Germany
5) Initiate the schlieffen plan
6) build a bunch of nukes
7) I have double my brother's score, this should be easy
8) Brother has anti nukes in Argentina, I should get rid of those before I nuke him
9) orchestrate master plan and coordinate all of my forces to converge on Argentina
9.5) stroke cat and say "Everything is going according to plan"
9.75) play "Flight of the valkyries"
10) Down with Argentina's anti nukes
11) go back to base to fire nukes at what is left of Argentina
12) brother sneaked experimental bomber to my base and obliterated my commander

12/12 would be obliterated again.

But I rocketed a friends factory and he didn't know who it was since he built no radar and was turtling.
And then I got nuked.

This is one of the best rts games out there. Where you build factories and produce large amounts of units to battle your enemy. This game has a large amount of different ground, sea, and air units all with there own advanteges and disadvanteges. overall this is a great game with a lot of features and updates that give hours of fun and entertainment with replayabillity. The flow of combat is incredible and pvp is very fun however there can be lag sometimes so you might need a very good computer to run it but so far it works good. So i highly recommend this game to anyone that wants a solid rts game.

Forged Alliance is the natural progression of the Supreme Commander gaming experience, and in many ways it is very superior to the old. A completely new faction, as well as a handful of new units for each of the already existing factions, means that there's a lot of new content. Unfortunately, the campaign is not particularly good. If you liked anyone who survived Supreme Commander's story, then I think you will at least get some emotional impact as they struggle to survive this new war, and not all of them make it out alive. However, it just doesn't measure up over all, and I think this is because there's just so much more single player story content in the first game. The multiplayer experience is greatly improved from the introduction of the new units and faction, though. The AI is much more aggressive for online co-op play, and the new AIx computer opponents provide a refreshing challenge. They are still not with out their limitations but I really like playing against them.
