If you like rts or Warhammer 40k, then get this and all the Dawn of War games, the story is great, the gameplay is fun, the races you can play are fun and unique, the way it ended was really cool, and it made me want to get into the tabletop game.

A good game for it's time although it's flaws are more obvious now.
The last of the good games in the DoW series, after this one, things really started to get Eldar!

Dawn Of War Winter Assault is the first addition to the Dawn Of War series, this being so, it is a little rough around the edges, but as the first Dawn Of War game was great, this one is good aswell. I will admit this is probably my least favorite of all the Dawn Of War games. I cant really put my finger on why this is so, it just is. That being said though Winter Assault is still a pretty great entry in the series, You will have many hours of campaign play, with multiple factions and endings as well as fun multiplayer (if you have someone to play). If you are looking for an RTS series or are just a fan of Warhammer 40k, I have got to say I recommend the Dawn Of War series!

More difficult than the base game, probably because you're not playing Space Marines, Eldar are cool though.

If you've played Dawn of War 1 then you're basically paying for one more added faction and an extra unit for every other faction. And this is a good thing because the campaign is better than ever with multiple choices and you get to play as both order/disorder fighting for a powerful artifact throughout the story.

Much of the game is still the same as the original except you'll be getting used to the mob tactics backed up by powerful armour of the Imperial Guard along with all their secondary commanders such as commissars, priests and psykers all with a unique ability that help all the small meatshield soldiers push through almost any obstacle. Personally my most favourite faction to play as out the rest and all their units are very well voice acted.

If you're wanting to get this game to play as the Imperial Guard or other factions though to test out their new units, move along and grab Dark Crusade or Soulstorm instead. This game does bring in a few new things but nothing to really jump out the chair for but if you love the games for their campaign then this is worth the money.

A little short, but a damn fine addition - as always, the story with the Dawn of War series is top-knotch Games Workshop material, and the gameplay leaves little to be desired.

It's a good game. It's one that I personally call a classic. The two things I'd wish they'd finally fix for this game and the original DOW that it's expanding off of, another classic too by the way, is the resolution issues and how if you set the resolution option as high as possible, the mini map at the bottom is disorted. It's too big for the designed hud box to fir into and there are parts where you seriously need to see the areas that have been cut off due to this problem. There's that problem and the problem of sending out your units to fight and at some point they'll just stop on the way there so instead of watching the action, etc, you're usually trying to get the units who've just stopped along the way to keep going and they never dealt with it.

Other than those two complaints, the game is solid. I hope they come out with more DOW games in the future that are more like this one, an RTS, a Real Time Strategy game, these were going somewhere good when they changed it up to the DOW 2 style which I hated a lot. Who knows though.

Sadly this game doesn't continue the story of the first dawn of war, but this time you got choices! There are 2 campaigns, order and disorder. Order is hard, since you get the ♥♥♥♥ty imperials, but you get eldars! Dis-order is fun because you get badass Chaos and WAAAAAAAAAAAGH!! of orcs. PS (the story of first dawn of war continues in dawn of war 2)
