The part I look forward too the most was the co-op, but then after buying, then installing. There was no co-op

This is one of my "guilty pleasure" games I own, but not one that I'm afraid to admit to. I played the crap out of the demo on Xbox 360 (came pre-installed) but never bought it for that system. Years later and it's on a steam summer sale and I say "to hell with it, buy the damn game" and have not regretted it since. I may not get all the clones back, or all the secret action figures, or play on anything harder than easy mode, but I still love the game. If you are at all a fan of platform/exploration games pick it up!

Gameplay: The storyline is non-existent, which isn't the worst thing in the world. Unfortunately, however, there are no redeeming qualities to make up for this. There are a decent amount of game mechanics and levels to keep the total playtime up to 6 hours. The levels however are in no way challenging.

Visuals: It's pretty disappointing. It looks very unfinished.

Audio: It's not the worst audiowise. I can say that the sound effects match the disproportionate cartoon-like theme that they were aiming for. The soundtrack would get repetitive as the amount of songs they had didn't match the playtime it took to beat the game.

Replayability*: There is none. I have no desire to go back and play the game. All the levels are the exact same and often times the "perfection" mechanics (collecting all of the X) can usually be done on the first run through.

*This varies A LOT from person to person, so only rely on this category from me if you've agreed with my other reviews' replayability sections.

I was genuinely suprised at the quality of this game. It's a platformer puzzler where you navigate your way through well-designed levels to find the exit, with the catch that to get past certain obstacles you will need to find or make clones of yourself, or mutate into different forms (bomb, frog, chicken, monkey etc.).

Once you have clones you can switch to any clone anywhere else on the level at any time. There is very little combat or chance to fail, with just a few robots on each level you must destroy to open the exit. You're not timed, but there is a par time on each course you can try to beat. You also have the option of saving all your clones by exiting them through vents before you exit the level using your last one, and there are several collectibles to find on each level. All of this is optional and tied to some easy achievements.

Dozens of fun levels, not frustrating at all and plays great with a gamepad. A little too easy, though.

Stand every clone on every button and pull every lever.

There, I just solved every map in the game for you so you don't need to buy it now.

A silly, but fun platform game. Nice claymation style animation and a fun game mechanic cloning yourself to help you achieve your goals. In addition to cloning, you combine your DNA with other animals to make hybrid clones with special abilities. Not massively challenging, but definitely a fun game.

Just an ordinary 2D platform game. The cloning and the transformation machines doesn't really add much to the fun. Only play it if you like the genre.

*Gnome Seal of Approval*
Cute platformer. You're Clyde and you're trying to escape the lab. In order to do that, you have to make clones of yourself and combining the DNA of animals to gain special abilities. Such as a chicken for flight or monkey for climbing.

The negative:
Lack of a high resolution option.
Lack of customizable controls.

Should be called Combine Clyde because merging with animals for all the different abilities is a lot more fun than cloning yourself just to make them sit on buttons. I enjoyed going for 100% with the collectables and times though getting all of the Clydes out just felt like a chore. Worth a quick play for the price, it's something I refer to as a pound shop game.

This is a fun, interesting, & quirky game. It doesn't support every resolution unfortunately. You will end up having to play it in windowed mode most likely. It has controller support which is really nice but the pc controls do work well. The humor the indy developers put in this game is a joy to behold. A fun platformer with some interesting puzzle elements thrown in. ~PR0XIDIAN

Cloning Clyde may not exactly be one of the greatest games ever, but it’s an entertaining and fun platformer mixed with puzzle elements… One of the reasons I don’t enjoy a lot of puzzle platformer’s comes down to the fact that the focus tends to go towards puzzles and in turn fails to deliver on the platforming side. Cloning Clyde doesn’t have that problem and the puzzles are not as confusing as many other titles out there. So the fact that you don’t need mind bending drugs to complete the game is definitely a positive factor that makes this game significantly more enjoyable. The character animations are also another added bonus.

Funny little puzzle plattformer that despite it's minor flaws (some sound issues and the fact that there is no real BGM, except for a few secs each time you start a level) is recommendable if you want to kill some time or just play a simple game. I didn't regret picking this up durning DailyDeal and now after finishing it, I can say that it is even worth it's full price :)
Controls are responsive and get the job well done. The art style is cartoony and there is even some crude humor hidden in between.

Cloning Clyde is an enjoyable puzzle action platformer with native controller support. The puzzles themselves vary in difficulty and all revolve around your ability to clone yourself and use your clones to manipulate certain puzzles on the gamefield. My only minor gripe about the game is the fairly low resolution graphics which on a widescreen monitor when stretched to fullscreen result in a lot of jagged edges on the screen. The music is sparse and limited to flourishes and the intro screen, but I would still recommend this game to puzzle lovers who want a little bit of arcade action. Platform arcade enthusiasts though may find the actual twitch aspect of the game lacking, and the enemies are really only their to delay the completing of the puzzles rather than representing a serious threat. All in all it's a competent game though, and worth recommending to most Steam gamers.

It's a typical run of the mill platformer yet has it's own unique goofball style that provides a twisted fun factor. $1 bucket is definitely where this belongs.
