E.Y.E: Blood Games takes you into player competitions with new and varied maps.

Battle Royal:

In this round by round competition, the last man standing wins. All other participants are enemies!
You start each round with a random weapon and armor. Your aim is to finish the game with the most possible points.
You get points when you kill an enemy and also, when you are the survivor of the round.
You are free to use one of your existing Avatar, including one from the solo.
Some of your PSI and cyber powers are deactivated in this game mode.

Team Artifact:

Team competition: In this mode, Jians confront Culters for the artifact control. To do that you need to:
  • Take the artifact and carry it to the enemy area.
If the artifact is in the enemy area, the round ends. A new one will start and players will return to their initial positions.
Each team starts with an amount of resurectors. You win the round when the other team runs out of resurectors. There are several ways to do it:
  • Carrying the artifact to the enemy area.
  • Killing an enemy.
  • Hacking special interfaces.
At the beginning of the game, choose your team and character class.

As a member of the strange secret society E.Y.E, you wake up after a fight in which your fellow teammates were killed. E.Y.E, an armed branch of the Secreta Secretorum is attempting a coup against the all-powerful Federation, a coalition of several worlds and planets that rule with an iron fist.
To complicate matters, E.Y.E itself is plagued with its own internal conflicts between the Jian faction and the Culter faction, to which you belong. Your loyalties are torn between Commander Rimanah, your superior and the chief of the Secreta who is a separatist with an unstoppable ambition, and the "Mentor" your friend and instructor. The "Mentor" tries at all costs to unite the two rival factions. In doing so, you are thrust into the middle of a fratricidal war frought with political conspiracies and quests for power in which different groups and megacorporations are implicated.
These troubles set the stage for an attack by an unknown force bent on destroying humankind.

This game is bizarre, fun, stupid, funny, creepy, very very eurojank, and (maybe) one of my favorite games of all time. Just pull out your Depezador and blast away. And then read some very confusing dialogue that is part of a story that makes very little sense, but I love. And, if you have a pal or two, they can jump in and you can all be part of your weird space religious cult/secret black ops society together.

(No one plays on the Multiplayer servers, so I have no idea what that's like. Shame.)

E.Y.E is an obtuse and inane mess of half-baked ideas. It's an interesting idea suffocated by high concept and poor design. Nothing about E.Y.E is intuitive; the game would rather flood you with useless exposition than introduce you to new ideas in a digestable fashion.

It's really a shame, too, because E.Y.E has potential. Stylistically, it's a standout title; it takes the cyberpunk aesthetic and drapes it atop a psuedo-knightly religious sensibility. It brings an atmosphere that is undeniably intoxicating. It offers players a number of options in regards to play style and objectives, which is always a point of praise in my book.

Despite being visually engaging, the levels in E.Y.E are maddeningly large, sparsely populated, and there is no map function. Enemies are wildly inconsistent, in some missions you'll encounter colourful multiple armed creatures, the xenomorph from Alien and.. werewolves? There's no explanation. It just happens. The tonal shift is jarring, moving from oppressive looking storm troopers to colourful aliens and then back again without rhyme or reason.

E.Y.E's story-telling is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ atrocious. I'm not sure if there's a good story in E.Y.E, because I understood literally nothing it threw at me. What's a Brouzouf? Meta-streumonic? Jians? Federation? It is a confusing mess of high concept sci-fi that seems more concerned with sounding exotic and unique than actually being comprehensible.

I don't think E.Y.E is terrible. I actually think it's an okay game, but it's infuriating to see such potential muddied by avoidable design disasters. If the developers had eased the player into the mechanics and the lore, if they'd cut the fat off maps and made them compact and rich instead of large and vacuous, E.Y.E would be a knockout.

I can't recommend E.Y.E. However, I really hope there is a sequel or follow up at some point, and the developers take the strengths of this game and pour them into something more carefully designed. I mean that. I hope this is just the beginning, and that in the near future we get to experience this world again.

The game can be very confusing but to its credit, if you really try you can figure most things out without a wiki. The game is amazing is every way, however (to me at least) there is somthing very VERY wrong with it, and I'm not talking game breaking glitches or runtime issues, no I'm talking the fact that this game is almost litterally one giant fever dream from start to finish. Very Trippy, very strange but insanely unique. 8/10 give it a go.

Game that requires insane amount of patience to play it properly. Early hours will be confusing as hell but once you get past it and finally start to learn the game bit more, you'll find lot of fun in here. It's one of those games that will stick in your head forever because how strange and how atmospheric this game is. I would totally recommend anyone who has patience and willing to read a bit.

Oh and this game has the best hacking minigame ever.

Throw Deus Ex, Warhammer 40K, Silent Hill, Half-Life 2 and a pinch of Heart of Darkness into a French blender, run the result through Google Translate, and boom: you've got yourself some Divine Cybermancy. People can and will argue whether it's good, or even fun. Whatever else it might be, this game is unique; an absolute diamond in the rough.

Plus, it goes on sale for like, 2 brouzoufs. Even if you end up hating it, it's such a trip that the experience is worth every penny.

Across my entire games library, there is no title I am able to call more confusing than E.Y.E. I've long sat on the fence between calling it the most incoherent trainwreck of a game I've ever seen and the one of the absolute best RPG shooters I've ever played. As the thumbs-up on this review suggests, I usually fall off the latter side of the fence.

E.Y.E. is many things, but, as stated, it is an RPG at its core and an FPS at heart. These labels, however, hardly do it justice. Between its rich feature list and innumerable player statistics that can all be taken advantage of as one pleases, E.Y.E. is a game that can practically be played any way you want.

Want to throw on heavy armor and rampage through levels with a minigun? Go for it. Want to strip down to nothing, grab a power sword, and speed through maps at 400MPH like it was Hotline Miami? Your call. Want to grab a shotgun, leap ten stories into the air onto the head of a cyberdemon, and pump your way through his skull? Entirely possible.

Between character builds, weapon loadouts, personal playstyles, and the robust, unique hacking minigame, it would almost be entirely correct to say that there's little you can't do in E.Y.E. Every part of the game can be played cooperatively - or competitively - in multiplayer to further demonstrate the beautiful chaos of the games' overwhelming array of options.

There is simply no way to properly explain E.Y.E.'s story and atmosphere. Even those people - such as myself - who have finished the game to its fullest extent still struggle to understand it. It is best described, albeit insufficiently, as every dystopian sci-fi universe in fiction smashed together and explained by a frenchman on 400 tons of LSD via Google Translate. And that's just the tutorial.

E.Y.E. is dark, depressing, and its story will make the game feel hopelessly futile in the end - in a good way. Its lightless levels require permanent flashlight usage and often are so dark that even the flashlight is useless. Its music is pure brilliance that, once again, demonstrates how unnervingly powerful the game is despite its inexhaustible list of quirks.

The quirks, however, aren't all good. It's clear very early on that the game may as well have been made exclusively in a shed after happy hour as it runs on Valve's Source engine, relies on Half-Life 2 content in a surprising number of places, and features models that run the gamut between professional quality to downright goofy.

The prior mention of a frenchman on 400 tons of LSD is likewise accurate. E.Y.E. is the product of a French indie studio with a limited translation budget, leaving much of the text - its primary means of story dialogue - terribly confusing, at best. Strange mission objectives and complex level design can sometimes exaggerate the effects of the poor translation to an extreme and hold up gameplay.

Questionable weapon balance, random drop-influenced player upgrades, a tutorial that often seems insufficient for most new players, and sometimes obnoxious on-screen messages all contribute to how E.Y.E. can often seem like a steaming mess. Some systems are completely discarded as the game progresses and some statistics end up entirely useless, leaving balance in yet more disarray.


After I'd finished with E.Y.E., however, it left a mark on me that has since changed my perspective on games and dystopian environments. It's made me wonder why so many big-budget games with more experienced and less-pressured staff have been little more than drops of rainwater compared to the ocean of potential that E.Y.E., in all its indie-to-the-bone glory, is.

And I still can't find my legs.

The best way to describe this game is to. "Give a french development team a copy of source. Tell them to develop deus ex meets system shock 2. And then give them a bunch of crack and red bull."

It is a role playing shooter that feels like a shooter more than an rpg. I could equate it to being a more action packed version of the original deus ex or system shock 2... prob closer to system shock 2 in terms of system, but its quite interesting.

Its cyberpunk to the core. The story is about corporations hiring and cloning their own security force, which they cybernetically augment. There are multiple endings, each gives you a different psionic spell to cast. Get all 3 and you get a 4th super powerful one that will obliterate any enemy you come across.

You gain states, you research and use cybernetic augments like stealth, the ability to see through walls, jump higher, etc. If you die there are sometimes permanent stat losses that can only be negated through researching a lot of items.

Its very hard to peg down why this so enjoyable, as its fairly insane in every aspect... But I have quite enjoyed it. Plus they have a sword that implodes enemies.

It might be a Warhammer 40k spinoff. Or Deus Ex in the future. The protagonist could be Robocop in an alternate reality, maybe Neo after he gains his unexplainable psychic powers outside of the Matrix, or possibly Phil Connors from Groundhog Day, pretending to be Shadow Warrior's Lo Wang to face off against Doom's cyberdemons for all eternity. Noone knows for sure.

Play it and help us find out.

EYE is probably my favorite game of all time, but it isn't really a game I'd describe as something one plays for the game's story, or even for the gameplay. One plays EYE for the stories about the game. That being said, the gameplay's pretty good too, if you like Source engine shooters.

I was killed by being hacked by a door I attempted to hack.
The first time I ever fired the Excidium, I got the achievement for killing yourself with the Excidium.
It's possible to make everyone in the hub area hostile to you by jumping on someone's head while there.
I found out the hard way that you can kill yourself by controlling an enemy you've hacked and possessed to a position where it can shoot you.
I've cleared a mission just by carrying a defense turret around in front of me.
It's possible, and easy, to kill the insects and rodents and walrus-creatures scurrying around on the floor, but you'll lose karma.
You can get a PSI power that kills whatever you hit with it, but it also gives you brain damage.
The plural of Brouzouf is Brouzoufs, except when the plural of Brouzouf is Brouzouf.
There's a sword that makes enemies explode. Or does the sword itself explode upon contact with enemies?

You will ♥♥♥♥ yourself trying to understand this game. Hell, you'll need a guide even to build you character. But if you invest 30-60 minutes to understand the game, it gets really fun to play. I has a wierd and unique atmosphere, the RPG elements dominate the game even though it is in the core a shooter and it is a good one too. In a way some gameplay mechanics are simmilar to Hellgate London, but this is a way much better game. The game is a bit hardcore too, you get killed really easy even trough the late mid-game. For the price it goes it's an awsome game. 8/10
