Om spillet

Guardians of Graxia takes on the form of a card-based board game set in a floating island environment high in the sky of the Graxia world. Releasing with four powerful Guardians that will guide your armies into battle, charge onto the battlefield by laying out your forces strategically. Gameplay advances in turns by selecting new unit and spell cards to place and move on the tiled map surface. Win by completing any of the numerous skirmishes, or by defeating Draknal Trueblood in the game's initial campaign!
The floating continents are filled with the cities and dens of dozens of magical races, including Dragons, Dwarves, Elves, Goblins, Humans, and many others. Guardians are the only ones able to create magical portals which are the sole means to cross from one drifting continent to another. The various creatures are constantly at war with each other through using their Guardians and armies via the portals. Use these portals to transport your armies and conquer the land found on the other side!

Nice graphics, good ideas for the units, end of positive points. Interface is clunky, you have to guess things out. Descriptions of the cards don't give you enough information. Animations during the combat phases slow down an already extremely slow game - the AI takes forever to move one card. Goals are impossible to reach because each map is timed and the AI cheats on everything - they can slay five of your units with the weakest of theirs. Maps are thought as bottlenecks : only one strategy, only one direction to go.

A frustrating experience I'd recommend only to my worst enemies.

Worthwhile game by the Russians combining their favoirite genre (HOMM) with the concept of a card game.

CONSIDER THIS: THE TRUE GAME. I invite anyone reading this to consider the place of games in their lives. Do you feel it is an addiction or distraction? Do you feel it contributes to a sense of social and political lethargy? Does gaming function as an ajunct to TV as a form of mind control for (mostly) young males while you are being set up as potential recruit-fodder for the armed forces? There is a REAL game in this world. It is big and complex and totally worth playing. Before playing this game you should reflect on two things:
(1) What happens when a jet liner hits a large office tower?
(2) What happens when 200,000 of Structural steel in a 300 meter office tower collapses?
Compare your understanding for what happens in reality with what we were told happened on September 11 2001. If you notice a discrepancy you may be qualified to play the real game of life.
To play make your way to the nearest possible Freemasonic lodge and begin your application.
Talk to you again when you pass level 20 of the sacred order.

I like the whole idea of the game, but just the fact that it is such a slow turn-based game is what got me. And to add on to that, most the the AI units are OP and you have to have alot of mind power to overcome them.

Cóż, gra niestety nie jest dobra, wiele błędów. Nie jesto to grywalne, szybko się nudzi. Dużo nieddoróbek. Nie polecam.

This game feels overly complicated. While that alone isn't bad, the player is often left in the dark or cannot comprehend how certain actions and numbers are calculated. Everything feels like pure chance way too often. And I haven't found any ingame help or manual that explains the underlying structure of the number crunching. You just cannot play a strategy "card" game, if you do not have the means to successfully develop a strategy with the things you are given.
