As much an Epic Story Trilogy... As it is also an Epic Video Game/Simulation Trilogy... It is so well done, that I give it Simulation level Marks. Now the Software generated Story, will be a Pretty much an actual simulation... ((Andromeda that is)) ... I recommend getting all three of the games, and all available dlc's for them... Flesh them out, and experience every available part of this Epic Story... Remember, there are a lot of copies of this Genre out now, but When Mass Effect first came out, there simply had never been any story simulation game done so thoroughly interactive, and with so many aspects to the process of exploring the experience of Commanding a series of deap space missions that the Earth's and many other world's survival depended upon... It is so much more affordable now, and PC's are so much faster, as this came out durring Windows Vista (ARRRG...), and Dual Core years, when most machines had single core Cpu's and less than 1 gig of video ram... Now you can Play this on a Six-Eight core stepping CPU, and mutiple 12gig video cards, for God's Sake Play it with Three curved monitors if you can, and Let this Baby Rock !!!!

I had a copy of ME2 for my old computer, and it was a great game. I thought I'd go ahead and purchase it to play again for old times' sake. Digital Deluxe! Sounds great, right?

No.

Do NOT buy this game on Steam. No major DLC included--and not only that, they're not even AVAILABLE on Steam. This is what you get for trying to "do the right thing". I wish I had just found a torrent. It's bad enough to pay for the game twice, but to pay for a significantly *worse* experience than I had in 2010?

Unacceptable.

Lovely game. Played it over and over with no regrets.

Always feel a bit sad when Steam puts the "franchise" on sale, though.

Buy the most basic edition, torrent all the DLCs EA tries to screw you on- its the only way of having 100% of its rich story, without any cuts or spending ♥♥♥♥ton of money on "bioware points"...

I would give both my legs for the chance to play this franchise for the first time again. No other game has moved me in such a way that mass effect has. It is just. Unbelievable. I have 42 playthroughs, one being on pc, the others being on my 360. This game is the best game I have ever had the pleasure of playing. And I can't thank Bioware enough for such a beautiful ride.

Then we get to mass effect 3. EA, you complete wankstains. You endorse good games, (I'm EA Games, and this is a game to ruin on the internet) and you help produce them wonderfuly, until it gets to the end sequence, then your money instincs kick in and you want it finished in an unfinished state. So for that, ♥♥♥♥ you. But apart from that, if you're considering buying this wonderful franchise. Do yourself a lemon and buy all 3 on Origin. All 3 games in one place.

I hope you all enjoy the beautiful ride as much as I have.

>I have a poster of Garrus framed on my wall. The only poster I own.

If only I could press the recommend button more than once.

It's a great game.. if you don't buy it on Steam.
Bioware and EA are ♥♥♥♥ kickers, digital deluxe doesn't come with all the DLC, and the DLC it comes for you have to go and unlock through codes, and if you want any actual story-impacting DLC you have to purchase it off the bioware website with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 'biopoints'. Do yourself a favor and torrent ME2 with all the DLC.

Edit : Here it is with a good explanation by Necropolis.
' ME2 is a great game on its own but someone might have played it (or not, doesn't matter) and wants to experience the DLC as well since it expands on the game a lot. When they are completely misled by the way EA markets this game on Steam and end up buying an edition that doesn't include the DLC that you wanted to play so much, then it's more than justified to also take a ♥♥♥♥ on their faces, just like they did.

Besides, BioWare and mostly EA have made tons of money using policies like this, I doubt anyone would willingly support them any further when they've already supported them for an unfinished "special" edition. '

Edit 2 : I haven't pirated the game myself because I don't know ♥♥♥♥ about torrenting. I'm just explaining that forking over money to EA when you shouldn't is a bad idea.

One of the best games of the current decade, perhaps even the best. I've beaten this game countless times before on console and it still feels as fresh and immersive as ever. The character design, the combat, the visuals, the writing; everything is on point.

The only downsides there are at the moment is the fact that the DLC isn't available on Steam, and the class balance is a bit wonky. Infiltrator and Sentinel stand head and shoulders above everything else, and Engineer is borderline useless. Outside of these minor issues, there's absolutely nothing wrong with this game in my opinion. Just play it already.

The dlc is not available in the steam store. This means you cant create a custom mass effect save without the genisis dlc.

Will Steam or Bioware someday release a 'ME2 - Complete Edition'?? If not, don't buy it, the game is like 9,5/10, but if you start playing Mass Effect 3 (which is not available on Steam) without playing through ME2 DLC's (like i did x.x) which are only obtainable on bioware store via points purchase (lame²), you'll really lose a great bit of the plot there, and it will compromise your experience.

PS: i don't know if it's only on steam version, but i got wallstucked like 5 times in the game, and had to restart from checkpoint, it's full of bugs!

Mass Effect 2 is the best of the series with characters that have depth and a truly cinematic presentation. This is an essential title for every gamer and a massive improvement over the first game in every conceivable way.

Great game. No, Awesome game. I don't want to spoil anything, because the game is a really wonderful Sci-Fi RPG! This is one of those must-have games for the RPG player who loves a great sci-fi story and way cool creative vision.

Too bad EA obsconded with ME3 to their crappy origin service only. I "would" buy it if it came to steam. But nooooooooo.

This is one of the most epic series of games out there. This one did a great job of taking the story along and adding elements that can actually lead through multiple playthroughs.

I have beaten this game at least twice, as I failed to save my playthough before the third came out. I spent more than 241 hours in this game and can say that the story, character development, and play style set the bar high for other top tier games coming out.

I would definately recommend playing through this and the third if you have not. One of the most epic games of all time.

This game along with ME1 and ME3 has taken up so much of my life i expect to turn around and see Vorcha in the streets or events of the Shadow Broker on the radio and events from Omega on the news with cover ups of the Collectors.

Do NOT buy this game if you value your sanity as it literally breaks you. The friendships you build makes you pissy at the real friends you have as they dont live up to those of Garrus and his quirky remarks.

On a serious not though, there is so many different paths to go down with this game with decisions you make in ME1 having the capability to be butterfly effected right through.
