You know what? I'll say it. This is actually one of the best shooters of all time. Everything is so thoroughly thought through, even to the point where you can basically stealth most levels in a game that isn't even really about stealth, just thanks to how good the AI and mechanics are.
You an pick up a chair for no real reason and you can't just pick up a chair and then use a knife or handgun with it.
Plus,
NAZIS!
SCIENCE!
THE OCCULT!
GREAT GUNPLAY!
GET IT!

Just be sure to right click on the game, click properties and click Set Launch Options and enter the following line into the box:
+set r_primitives 2
This will fix all performance issues you may have, and let you run the game at max settings without stuttering.
Also possibly grab the unnofficial patch: www.markshan.com/knightmare/downloads/rtcw-sp-1.42d-win32-bin.zip
This fixes several bugs and adds widescreen support.
Just get it and beat it so you can say you were man enough to do it.

The best game of the series Wolfenstein in my opinion. Not only because it has lots of weapons and it's very challenging, but just for those memories brought back to life. Most gamers started with this kind of game and it's very satisfying playing it again after lots of years.

To the best of my understanding, the German word for Machine Gun is "Maschinengewehr", the German word for First-Aid Kit is "Verbandkasten" and the German word for 'Being on 5% health and eating a dog bowl full of raw entrails out of desperation" is "Köstlich".

Excellent and very 2001 game. Monsters to kill, Nazis to gib, pictures of Hitler to shoot. The difficult can spike, but I just put on God mode and headshot everyone with a pistol. Plus it's cheap. What's not to love?

I played this game when I was a little kid, at the time I was not a gamer nor did I know such term existed, I played it on my neighbours pc for hours without even knowing which game it was until I rediscovered it recently, this is the game that made me enter the beautiful world of gaming. It was the first of many lives and adventures. This is how games are done, with love and dedication, it is pure and simple, no cut scenes every to seconds, no auto aim, no perks.

10/10 Would be nostalgic again

Hmm that title came out as a big surprise for me. I mean, the classic Wolfenstein 3D is one of my favourite FPS games ever so I must confess that when that other title was released, I was feeling kinda shocked instead of excited to play. Well, that wasn't the only weird aspect of that story. Let me explain: Although I didn't wanted to give it a try, my mom actually wanted to! Yes, this game actually contributed a lot with her liking towards FPS games (later she even helped lil' kids on a forum, telling them how to beat some Half Life levels, but that's another story). Anyway, what else is there to say? Besides the improved graphics and now having this real 3D immersion, that newer version also started to make use of the mouse besides of the keyboard. I mean, although that combination nowadays is extremely ordinary, back then it was some kind of novelty (I gotta thank Quake for providing me a hand on getting used to that). Another aspects to be evaluated: The weapons are quite cool, as for the story, I guess it's ok, I can't really complain. Recently, some extremely generous souls developed a coop mod, which allows you to play the game with a friend. Just to finish, I know that there're more recent versions of the Wolfenstein franchise, but this one is really fun and I surely recommend it to other FPS fans (now that's what I call a plot twist).

Just such a classic, iconic, fps shooter. I remember when i was only about 15 and saw my dad playing this and asked if i could try next. Being that i got to kill Nazis he obviously had no reservations about it, and this became the game that started my love for FPS. Back when this game was current and servers were everywhere (ahh 1.0 how i crave your warm embrace again) and clan battles were brutal and full of trash talk.....on and on and on i could go, from the struggles of trying to plant the dynamite on the radar tower, all the way to the crazy fun trickjumping maps where you could spend all day trying to master a certain path/jump. This game both solo and multiplayer was a big turning point for FPS in my opinion and should never be forgotten for the amazing milestones it set forth. 100000/10. If you have never played this game i urge you to buy and install it instantly, even if just for the nostalgic campaign.
