This game is terrible. It has SO many bugs, it has very few good characters, and I can't play it any more because of some game-breaking glitch. Don't buy it. Get Skyrim. 6/10.

Oblvion in my opinion is one of the best RPGs ever made. And although I am a big fan of Skyrim, Oblivion has it beat in my opinion for better/ longer quests, better skill builds, and better DLC. I highly reccomend it to anyone who hasnt already played it and is a big fan of Skyrim. I have played it several times over the past 9 years since it came out and more recently finally got it on steam (Had it on Xbox360 before) and I still love the game.

I remember when I bought this game for XBOX 360. I got lost in the expansive world that was Cyrodiil and the story that Oblivion offered. And now I've decided to get lost all over again. Great game and will always give me nostalgic feelings.

Simpler and more accesible than Morrwind, while being more involved and complex than Skyrim, Oblivion is for sure in my top 10.

To be honest, this game is highly over-rated, Combat is basically *click*click*click*click*click*click*click*click*click*click*click*click*click*click*click*click*click*
The story is painfully cliche (at least at first) "Oh no, the king supreme leader guy is dead, and all of his heirs are too! Whatever will we do????, but wait, a long lost heeir that no one knows about? hooray we're saved! But wait, a big problem thing that threatens all of generic europe-esc country!!!!!! ETC.
.It's not horrible, but it's no-where as good as people chop it up to be. Take off the nostalgia glasses and put on the critical ones. Do yourself a favor and just stick with a different RPG.

I do recommend it but be very cautious which version it is that you buy. Make sure you get the GOTY Deluxe Edition. The GOTY Edition nly includes two of the expansions, whereas the GOTY Deluxe Edition includes all the expansions. I made the mistake of getting the GOTY Edition instead of the Deluxe Edition.
Don't get me wrong, Oblivion is sheer brilliance at the LEAST.

With all the content and free mods this game has to offer, it is very easy to recommend. Better than Skyrim imo too. Great bang for the buck.

I've played this a bit more than what steam is saying since I played it back on xbox 360. To be honest, do I really need to write a review? It's mother♥♥♥♥in oblivion, probably the best Elder Scrolls game. Just don't expect it to hold your hand. If you have only played skyrim before this, then lower the difficulty for your first playthrough. I never thought an imp could take so many hits when I first got into it.

Oblivions a really great game, but for me the Shivering Isles is what puts this game so far up my favorites. It's funny and random but under all of the craziness is a story I really enjoyed. <3

Do you mind? I'm busy doing the fishstick, It's a very delicate state of mind.

Amazing
Rating: 9/10

Great when it was released despite its flaws. Still holding up strong these days thanks to the mods.
Visiting Cyrodill again is a pleasure even after 10 years.

Oblivion, the prequal to Skyrim and the sequal to Morrowind, released 20th of March 2006 was the fourth installment of The Elder Scrolls franchise.

There are things i think that Oblivion did better than skyrim;
1. The class system was better, you chose your star sign right at the start NOT JUST THE THIEF, MAGE AND WARRIOR, all of them, your attributes and class was chosen right at the beginning of the game as well as the star signs.

2. I thought that the magica system in the game was better as you could use the restoration or any destruction spell whilst wielding your weapon instead of having to unequip your weapon and equip the spell.

3. I overall think that the main questline for Oblivion was better, as i spent a good 20 hours on it compared to when I completed Skyrim's questline at just 5 hours. The questline of Oblivion was also much more diverse and detailed compared to slaying Alduin which is nearly exactly as difficult to take down as a normal dragon. I found defeating Mankar Camoran was quite the challange

I'd just like to add that i totally prefur Skyrim over Oblivion just because there is much more to do in the way of exploring and the guild questlines were better in my opinion.
