For the money i spent on this game which was 10$ i say it's 100% worth it 100's if not 1000's of hours of content and for a game of this age it still has a great community although the multiplayer is no longer working still the single player and the editor still offer hours of fun and if you still want to play multiplayer you can download 3rd party programs all and all good game i give it a 9.5/10 the only reason it's not a ten is because the multiplayer servers are closed worth 5$ buy it.

probably the most realistic RTS WW2 game.
bring back memories too

spoiler for first US mission.

Given 4 men to infiltrate and stole german's armament.
Gotta look for our informan before hand.
Killed a guard by throwing a knife. Trying to pick his body. Body was too close to a building. Some invisible sleeping guard somewhat got alerted (yes invisible sleeping guard). Rushed out from le building. Alerted whole city.
stealth/10 would throw knife again.

No bugs for me, really enjoy the game (tho my record said 2.4 but I used to play this long time ago) believe me worth your money. specially on sale :p

General Impression
Men of War is a pretty nice strategy game. The graphics look pretty old, the textures are not great either, but they suit Men of War, because it is the first Men of War ever created. The old looking of the graphics really make this game look like the first one ever off a sequel, so I personally don’t see it as a negative point. Plus that strategy games weren’t looking great back then either. The atmosphere mostly happens in open fields, villages, cities, forests, and even other environments. The audio is pretty nice. I like the sound of the guns, tanks, etc. The music is very nice, it will always keep you with the wish to kill your enemy. The voice acting is very good as well. The gameplay is complex, in each mission you have to accomplish some tasks, alike killing certain enemies, cleaning fields off enemies, destroying some units, reaching a point, capturing a point, holding off certain positions, etc. The story focuses on the Soviet, Allied or German forces. They will have many battles in the 19 missions available, some of them being the Bonus ones, in the 4th and last campaign. The cut scenes of the missions are also pretty nice. The user interface is well-optimized, with no bugs and well-synthetized information. I also like the overall design of it. The controls are pretty good, except with 1 thing: the rotations’ controls of the cameras. I highly recommend you to reset them with the arrow buttons. The engines, just like in every Men of War game, are not perfect. The game has rarely crashes, and when it crashes, you obviously lose the progress of your mission. Try and save the game as often as you can, in order to avoid too much progress lose. You don't want to waste your time by restarting the mission from zero, right? The mechanics are sophisticated, being pretty nice and everything moves well-optimized. Now, I’m going to talk a little about the G.E.M. editor. Just like in every Men of War game, you have a G.E.M. editor. You can create your own battles in it. It is complex and with a various number of functions. What I don’t like in this particular G.E.M. editor: the amount of content. Compared to Men of War: Assault Squad 1 and 2, this game has less content, especially in the G.E.M. editor. But overall, the G.EM. editor is pretty nice, still. Overall this game is a pretty nice simulations of the battles of the Soviet, Allied and German forces during World War 2.

Positive Points
  • Pretty nice and well-designed graphics and textures
  • Pretty nice audio and nice music
  • Fun and challenging gameplay
  • Many missions throughout the 4 campaigns available
  • Infantry, heavy guns, batteries, cannons, vehicles, tanks, airplanes, and many other units available
  • 3 difficulties available
  • A pretty nice designed user interface, and some well-deisgned cutscenes
  • Some pretty stable engines
  • Some pretty nice mechanics

Neutral Points
  • Trading cards would be a nice feature
  • More units would be awesome
  • The editor should have more content, including being able to drive airplanes

Negative Points
  • The multiplayer is not alive anymore
  • There are some rare crashes, like in all the Men of War games

Very complex and indept 'squad management' game, that takes place during world war 2. With 3 campaigns (Russia, USA, Germany.)

Bascially a looting sim, that requires you to loot everything in the enviroment. To get weapons, ammo, vehicles etc for your soldiers. Can get very difficult a certain points, with such things as explosions killing all your men at once.

Works very well for what it is, story isnt fantastic but does have a 'journey'. But its the gameplay you play this for, with individual control over everything single soldier.

That you can gives certain items to perfom certain roles etc. But everyone is the same, with no special soldiers or anything. (Such as medics can only heal, drivers can only drive tanks etc.)

So its basically a game of using what you have and can find, to complete the set objectives. Runs very well, but is quite a old game that was never set out to be demanding.

Just finished the Soviet Campaign.
I loved it. It's very well made.
Especially the cutscenes.

Edit 1: Finished all campaigns. The rest is not as good, or long as the Soviet one. But still worth playing.

- Captured enemy war base using only a knife

- Saw Sasha Kovlevski speaking in perfect english

- Destroyed a King Tiger with a molotov

- Threw a knife through Halftrack's armor and killed it's driver

- Spawned myself a tank in editor and enjoyed rolling through hordes of little enemy cars.

- Killed a Nazi and wore his hat

11/10 would kill Nazis for hats again

this game is amzaing, but the voice acting is....... IS THE BEST THING EVAR. I MEAN IT SOUNDS LIKE THEY HIRED REAL RUSSIANS AND GERMANS TO VOICE ACT THE TROOPS, AND IT TOTALLY DOSEN'T SOUND LIKE A CHEAP AMERICAN ACTOR TRYING TO SOUND RUSSIAN.

This game is my favorite game ever! In the single player it makes you feel cunning and smart but is still tough! While in the multiplayer you get annihilated. But the biggest and best feature of this game is... the editor! It is very useable and powerful you could use it for a great mission or you can just have silly fun! (Most of the time I'm doing the second) My only complaint is the defence missions! No matter what you do you either win or lose it's a matter of luck! When you have a line of defence and a enemy army there is nothing to do besides watch and hope it does well! But really this is a great game I would recommend this any day.

Hmm... how should I put this?
Imagine Arma, okay? Imagine all of the realism, immersion, tension that has Arma featured. Now, since Arma set in modern world, how about change them into WW2. Nice, isn't it? Alright, now change the FPS camera into isometric top down that can zoom in into your unit's scale.

Now you get Men of War.

Why you should get men of war no matter what
-I got the game when it was on sale
-finished the mission the first mission then the second
-got the hang of it
-went on to third mission
-was really good at using infantry
-had too face lots of panzers
-desided to nade tard my way out of it
-killed many panzies
-thought i was done
-more panzies
-no more nades to kill panzies
-lost my defensive line
-had almost 97% of the train loaded (when its fully done you win)
-fricken germans killed all my loading civilians
-only had 1 tank crewman named chevclishovski
-chevclishovski looted bodies of some germans
-little chev found one of his friends another tank crewman hiding behind a wall
-found empty panzer
-wreck havok for a minute
-arty kills my panzer
-my little chev is burned alive
-I hear little chev and his friend screaming whenever I go to sleep

You can have your infantry throw a gernade at a King Tiger Tank yelling "For uncle sam!"

10/10 would throw gernade for uncle sam again
