Grand Strategy, play every Nation from the USSR to Peru.Fight in WW1 ,WW2,even into the Cold War Era.
Realtime,pausable,with different Speeds.

Pros:
+++ Lots of Game Depth,Manage your Armies,Generals,Fleets,Air Wings,Ministers,Finance,Trade,Diplomacy.Hardly anything is missing.
+++ Events : historical Events trigger, you can decide if you want to follow History or create an alternate Timeline.Examples: Deny The Soviets their Share of Poland, abort the Attack on Pearl Harbor.
+ Control over internal Politics : You can play a moderate Nazi-Germany,or rekindle the Flames of british Imperialism and attempt to retake the lost american Colonies.
+ Armies and Generals gain Experience ,even develop new Perks
+ Extensive Research Tree: Hundreds of Units and Techs ,ranging from Subs, over encryption to Nukes.
+ Control over the Armies of Allies and Puppet States (If you wish)
++ Many Factors influencing Battles and Movement.
Night/daycycle ,seasonal and hourly Weather Patterns,Experience,added Special Brigades,Unit Types,Terrain,Morale,Envelopment,Supply.
Example: Warfare in Russia gets bogged down during Winter as everything is snowed in.

Cons:
- Timeconsuming , a game can last from one (Scenario) to several hundred Hours (Grand Campaign,World Conquest)

One of the best Grand Strategy Games
HOI2 +Addons and "Darkest Hour lite" are also included in this Deal.

Another great Paradox game. If you enjoy WW2 history and grand strategy this is the game to get. Although focused on WW2 originally, you can play from the Russo-Japanese War (1904-05), WW1, WW2 and into the Cold War time period. It might come off as a bit complicated to begin with, but with a little effort its difficulty gives way to its constant replayability. A massive tech tree, tons of units, hundreds of historical events, this game is incredibly detailed, without being overly complicated. The UI can take a bit of time getting use to, but once you start playing, it comes naturally. For the price tag, this game is really worth it, as you can easily sink a lot more time into this game in terms of replayability (why not go Communist Germany in 1933 for a change?) than it costs.

Darkest Hour differs from Arsenal of Democracy (2010), the other modded product of Hearts of Iron II (2005) in that it expands the total number of provinces and functions as a fully moddable core. While improving Hearts of Iron II, Darkest Hour also includes a number of historical scenarios ranging from Operation Overlord to The Great War (World War I). Although it lacks the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947 or the 1948 Arab-Israeli War offered by Arsenal of Democracy, Darkest Hour provides one of the greatest user modifications ever made -- Kaiserreich.

Available for download on the Paradox forums, the Kaiserreich mod follows the "Legacy of the Weltkrieg." In this scenario, Wilhelm II secured victory in the First World War causing the Allied Powers to fall into disarray, and rendering the Nazis and their rise to power null. Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States all experience turmoil and strife offering the player a large number of decisions -- the UK turns socialist, the US becomes fragmented... Mittelafrika is ruled by Hermann Göring... it's all very engaging.

During my playthrough as Romania in both Arsenal of Democracy and Darkest Hour, Darkest Hour kept most historically accurate during the 1936 Road to War campaign. However it should be noted that Slovakia is formed almost always in Arsenal of Democracy.

I highly recommend Darkest Hour to the armchair general sort of strategy fan. Its successor, Hearts of Iron III, is unfortunately bogged down with unnecessary complexity with an Order of Battle organizational structure that leaves users micromanaging at all times.
