"My video is way out of date on this one but CS remains an extremely popular multiplayer shooter for a very good reason. Nothing beats the tension."

About This Game

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) will expand upon the team-based action gameplay that it pioneered when it was launched 14 years ago.

CS: GO features new maps, characters, and weapons and delivers updated versions of the classic CS content (de_dust, etc.). In addition, CS: GO will introduce new gameplay modes, matchmaking, leader boards, and more.

"Counter-Strike took the gaming industry by surprise when the unlikely MOD became the most played online PC action game in the world almost immediately after its release in August 1999," said Doug Lombardi at Valve. "For the past 12 years, it has continued to be one of the most-played games in the world, headline competitive gaming tournaments and selling over 25 million units worldwide across the franchise. CS: GO promises to expand on CS' award-winning gameplay and deliver it to gamers on the PC as well as the next gen consoles and the Mac."

Ok so for a first person shooter, this game is pretty good. It stays true to being skill based although some maps may have a slight team bias to them but nothing too crazy. Weapons require you to learn their spray patterns in order for you to get fast kills. The sprays are pretty much straight forward but it requires a good amount of practice to get your grouping tight. If you're more of a sniper, the AWP kills are satisfying. Especially when you progress your skill level with it. Only ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing about it is the fact that you slow down when you're being shot at which makes no sense but other than that, it's a pretty solid game.

Now to the bad side, the community. The community is fine as long as you're GNM+. If you're playing with silvers, prepare to engage in the dumbest tactics of all time and get kicked for literally doing nothing. For some reason, there are a lot of older people in the silver ranks that sound like miserable excuses of life that complain when a better player outplays them. A lot of trolls are in the silver ranks and it really ruins the game especially if you're a new player. It might even deter you from wanting to move forward with your CSGO skills. What's annoying is the ban system because when you're playing solo with strangers that are silver and they decide to be stupid and kick you for the "fun" of it, you'll end up with a 30 minute to 2 hour ban if it's your "first offense". The bad thing about this is that in the silver ranks, it's highly likely that you'll come across a lot of trolls in consecutive matches, so the more you get kicked the more your "offense" levels increase in the ban system. Once you're in the 7 day ban level, things become annoying when you're finally unbanned and you're trying to take the game seriously but you're unfortunately teamed with total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (if you joined solo) because one kick means you're right back into another 7 day. When I was in the silver ranks, I had 5 back to back 7 day bans due to people being stupid and trolling. That's 30 days of being banned from competitive matches and it really pisses you off.

The classic stupid silver match usually starts off dumb where everyone rushes B. Then later on in the game, usually at a crucial point, someone on your team will go afk for a few rounds and when you decide to kick them to try and win, there will always be one person that votes against you and it just screws up the whole game. And then they kick you for attempting to vote kick their friend and their friend MAGICALLY appears back to the keyboard and votes for your kick and there's another 7 day for you. It's pretty sad and this is why people make alternative accounts.

I'm sorry but I was originally an MG and I've been holding off making an alternate account but this is just ridiculous. I haven't played CSGO in a while so naturally when I got back I was deranked and I happened to be placed in silver. Getting out of silver isn't hard, it's just the people you're teamed with that hold you down. Oh look, CSGO is on sale at $7.49 as of 6/25/16, looks like I'm going to buy an alt account. I'm not saying every silver is an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ but a good amount of them are. Anyways, CSGO is a great game to showcase your skill set with whatever weapon you choose. It's addictive and I love it. I just hate the community you're face with early on.

After playing for nearly 2000 hours, you'd expect I'd be pretty good at this game, but I'm actually bloody awful. A good percentage of the community is too toxic for you to even enjoy playing - and if you get toxic teammates then you've almost definitely lost the game and will probably derank to be surrounded by people who are even more toxic and even less competent.

So why recommend it? It's the best of a worst situation type thing, you see, every game the industry has dropped on us recently has been a down right disappointment so instead of dealing with those games just buy skins. Skins are literally the only reason to play this game :^)

Sometimes the game is fun but that's usually because some ruskis are shouting at eachother instead of shouting at you and you just sit there like "hue ♥♥♥♥ blyat idi nahui silly ruskis :))"

If Valve had focused on banning cheaters rather than giving ordinary people competitive cooldowns, this game wouldn't be such a ♥♥♥♥ing cancer.
