Do not buy this at full price.

Buy it when its more than 50% off, cause you will only enjoy the less than half of it.
Almost worth playing through once.
You just play has Classic/Past Sonic and Modern/Future Sonic.

Pros:
-Classic/Past Sonic is more fun to play than Modern/Future Sonic.
-Casino Night dlc is pretty fun.
-Graphics are acceptable.

Cons:
-Modern/Future Sonic is not as fun to play as than Classic/Past Sonic.
-Modern/Future Sonic's controls are bad when he goes to the 3D portions of the maps. (Like leading a mule)
-Modern/Future Sonic will glitch out at times so prepare to die and/or reset the game.
-Modern/Future Sonic's boss battle are terrible.( I beat them all but i didn't know what i was doing or what exactly what i was suppose to do.)
-Annoying helpers constantly, and repeatly , tell you what you already know even when their are visual tips on the screen. (like Navi from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I found myself cussing at the game everytime they "warned me" and "gave me tips")
-Don't care for the story.
-The Hub world is bland and boring.
-Must press the window button to exit to windows and close the game while is in minimized.

Buy and play at your own risk.

Well, after too many sequels that almost killed the franchise, sega finally did something right. Generations is the best sonic since the adventure days. Let us hope that they reprise this during his 20th birthday.

Pros:

-You have both types of Sonic gameplay (Oldschool and Modern).

-The stages are fun, unique, nostalgic and provide with a decent challenge.

-A new skill system which provides a little depth to Sonic.

Cons:

-The game is short, even for a Sonic game.

-The final boss battle is lackluster.

-It is a huge shame that you can't play as the other Sonic characters such as Shadow, Knuckles, Blaze etc.

I'm a huge Sonic fan, and this game was, in my opinion, Sonic's last good outing (Lost World was alright, then Boom... you know that story), with a good variety of levels from the history of the blue blur, excellent reimaginings of said levels with both 2D and 3D acts to spice it up, a great variety of awesome songs, and surprisingly good graphics for a game that was released 5 years ago.

Between this version and the console versions, PC Sonic Generations seems to be a little more than buggy in some areas due to a lack of support on SEGA's end. I managed to get lodged inside of platforms, ignore collision and have many controller inputs dropped when I tried to jump, spin dash or homing attack (may just be my controller though). BUT, the critical difference that renders this the best version is the mod support, which is not only stupendously easy to set up, but is a treasure trove of fantastic additions that make this the most versatile, and in some cases hilarious, Sonic game to date.

Overall, SEGA did a fantastic job of giving the iconic hedgehog the birthday he deserved. Happy 20th, and 25th, birthday Sonic!

Great game, definitely my favorite Sonic game along with Colors. My only complaint is that if you're playing with a controller and it disconnects, you have to restart the game to be able to reconnect it. Really annoying with the flimsy USB cord I have, but that is literally the only bad thing I can think of about this game.

9/10

EDIT: Left out a word.

I haven't played any recent Sonic titles but I'm well aware of the criticisms they have received as far as bugs, camera angles and unoriginality are concerned. I went into Sonic Generations with an open mind, but with awareness that I might be disappointed. Thankfully I can say that all my concerns were for naught. In short, I have had an absolute blast playing Generations, far more than I expected.

The 2D levels are a great trip into nostalgia as well as providing new experiences for me. I've only played one 3D sonic game and that was about 12 years ago. Some infrequent camera issues aside caused by intense speeds, I haven't had any struggles at all with the 3D levels.

The music is fantastic, I especially love the modern Chemical Plant Zone, Crisis City and Rooftop Run tracks (the latter of which is currently stuck in my head). There is also surprisingly high amounts of customization in the skill system, something I didn't even know existed before playing. I can pick between many skills to suit my gameplay needs such as recovery abilities or a single choice of a handful of powerful skills with gameplay changing impacts.

Add in the fact that there are multiple challenges and collectibles for both zones (evenly spread across 2D and 3D) as well as each level completion giving you ranks and the option to try to get the best possible rank for each zone and challenge and you'll find that for the completionist, there is a massive amount of content to be had.

I figured I would pick the game up, do a quick run through and then never come back. Instead this has been my game of choice for the last two weeks and I still haven't reached the end (partly due to time constraints). This is a great game and lives up to the standards set by the Genesis era.

A good mix of 2D and 3D platforming, with great level designs. Bosses are great
(Except the Time Eater) My most disliked levels are probably Crisis City and Planet Wisp, and the best are Rooftop Run, City Escape and Speed Highway.
The worst part is the story. While there isn't much you can do with a game like this, The story team are the same guys who made the story for SONIC COLOURS!!!! I'd at least think there could be a bit more. Like how After you complete the first two stages Sonic and Tails talk about them. WHY COULDN'T THIS BE FOR OTHER STAGES?
Minor nitpicks aside, I have Sonic generations a 8/10, A good platformer, but a poor story.

I loved this game, seriosuly I don't know why I took so long to play it. The controls were responsive, I did have some frame rate issues for a few seconds maybe 1-3. But they went away after leaving the area, the game is visually amazing. I had so much fun bouncing from classic and modern and it was seriously an awesome experience! Definitely recommend this game, playing old stages and new stages was amazing to see! The Soundtrack is also pretty good!

The best 3D Sanic game in years.

Gorgeous visuals and pretty good controls make a fantastic Sonic game. There's not a MASSIVE amount of content in terms of levels - 9 Stages with 2 acts each (Modern Sonic and Classic Sonic) - but each one is meticulously crafted and bursting with detail and life.

Classic Sonic's controls aren't 1:1 with his megadrive counterparts but they serve well enough. Nothing like Sonic 4. Modern Sonic controls really well and feels super-responsive.

The whole game doesn't take itself too seriously and is totally worth a play if you enjoy Sonic games.

Fast platforming, best Sonic game to date. Every iconic stage is in this game. Green Hill Zone, Chemical plant, Seaside hill and more. Defiantly recommend this game

An absolutely fantastic game! If you loved Sonic Colors, Sonic Unleashed (Day sections), or even the classic Sonic games, you will love this one. Stunning graphics, controls, and feel to it. Easily one of the best Sonic games ever created
