Now they must team up to defeat their enemies, save their friends, and find out who is behind this diabolical deed.

this is like sonic heroes minus the 2 team mates following you, meets sonic riders, meets classic sonics games, meets shadow the hedgehog, meets many other great sonic games.

there are many different level styles, classic side scrolling levels where you play as classic sonic, and sonic heroes style levels that are just like sonic heroes but you are just sonic, no one following you, there are also levels where you are on a board like sonic ryders, there is a lot more. mini games, challenge levels, races (race many of so nics friends and enemies), and so much more. there is a lot of play styles to this game.

switch back and forth at your own will between classic and modern sonic. play each level as classic or modern, though you will have to do both at some point to progress through the game i believe.

the challenges are something you have to do as well. i wasnt to fond of that idea cause i hate racing, but it was easy enought so i'm not knocking it for that.

the level design is pretty sweet

the graphics are beautiful

the scenery is amazing

♥♥♥♥ tons of sonic characters, including metal sonic, knuckles, tales, amy, etc, etc.... probably all of them

game runs smooth as silk, havent had a stutter as of yet

no bugs or glitches that ive ran into.

did not care for a couple of the boss fights....they were pretty difficult.

great sonic game. buy it! buy it now!

The best 3D Sanic game in years.

Gorgeous visuals and pretty good controls make a fantastic Sonic game. There's not a MASSIVE amount of content in terms of levels - 9 Stages with 2 acts each (Modern Sonic and Classic Sonic) - but each one is meticulously crafted and bursting with detail and life.

Classic Sonic's controls aren't 1:1 with his megadrive counterparts but they serve well enough. Nothing like Sonic 4. Modern Sonic controls really well and feels super-responsive.

The whole game doesn't take itself too seriously and is totally worth a play if you enjoy Sonic games.

A good mix of 2D and 3D platforming, with great level designs. Bosses are great
(Except the Time Eater) My most disliked levels are probably Crisis City and Planet Wisp, and the best are Rooftop Run, City Escape and Speed Highway.
The worst part is the story. While there isn't much you can do with a game like this, The story team are the same guys who made the story for SONIC COLOURS!!!! I'd at least think there could be a bit more. Like how After you complete the first two stages Sonic and Tails talk about them. WHY COULDN'T THIS BE FOR OTHER STAGES?
Minor nitpicks aside, I have Sonic generations a 8/10, A good platformer, but a poor story.

I haven't played any recent Sonic titles but I'm well aware of the criticisms they have received as far as bugs, camera angles and unoriginality are concerned. I went into Sonic Generations with an open mind, but with awareness that I might be disappointed. Thankfully I can say that all my concerns were for naught. In short, I have had an absolute blast playing Generations, far more than I expected.

The 2D levels are a great trip into nostalgia as well as providing new experiences for me. I've only played one 3D sonic game and that was about 12 years ago. Some infrequent camera issues aside caused by intense speeds, I haven't had any struggles at all with the 3D levels.

The music is fantastic, I especially love the modern Chemical Plant Zone, Crisis City and Rooftop Run tracks (the latter of which is currently stuck in my head). There is also surprisingly high amounts of customization in the skill system, something I didn't even know existed before playing. I can pick between many skills to suit my gameplay needs such as recovery abilities or a single choice of a handful of powerful skills with gameplay changing impacts.

Add in the fact that there are multiple challenges and collectibles for both zones (evenly spread across 2D and 3D) as well as each level completion giving you ranks and the option to try to get the best possible rank for each zone and challenge and you'll find that for the completionist, there is a massive amount of content to be had.

I figured I would pick the game up, do a quick run through and then never come back. Instead this has been my game of choice for the last two weeks and I still haven't reached the end (partly due to time constraints). This is a great game and lives up to the standards set by the Genesis era.

I loved this game, seriosuly I don't know why I took so long to play it. The controls were responsive, I did have some frame rate issues for a few seconds maybe 1-3. But they went away after leaving the area, the game is visually amazing. I had so much fun bouncing from classic and modern and it was seriously an awesome experience! Definitely recommend this game, playing old stages and new stages was amazing to see! The Soundtrack is also pretty good!

An absolutely fantastic game! If you loved Sonic Colors, Sonic Unleashed (Day sections), or even the classic Sonic games, you will love this one. Stunning graphics, controls, and feel to it. Easily one of the best Sonic games ever created
