A fun and great game.

Has tons of mods.

Runs around 30-45 FPS on Low Settings on an Intel HD 5500 don't expect 60 FPS but seriously the game doesn't look that bad on low settings resolution is 720p.

The Unleashed Render motion blur sucks under 60 FPS but I blame whoever modded it in not Devil's Detail.

Why didn't you get Devil's Detail to port Lost World over cause the Lost World port is horrid.

Sonic Generations was an alright Sonic game, except for a lot of things.

Pros:
Good level design
Controls
Booty-ful graphics
Eggman's voice acting ('sgood)
Fun to complete
clessic sonic

now here's where it gets ugly

Cons:
Would've loved to have elemental shields implemented into the level design
Bosses are okay at best
Classic Sonic's spindash is overpowered
Modern Super Sonic
Sub-par final boss
Classic Sonic's physics
Garbage story
It doesn't feel Sonic-y (basically, this game has no soul)
Short
Some levels are boost-to-win

Have you ever played:
Sonic,
Sonic 2,
Sonic 3,
Sonic CD,
Sonic Adventure,
Sonic Adventure 2,
Sonic Heroes,
Sonic 06,
Sonic Unleashed, or
Sonic Colors?
If so, you might find this a bit familiar, as there is at least 1 level/ boss from each of these games.
If you (for some reason) haven't played any of these other sonic games, you should still play this... you'll see why when you do...

As Sunky.MPEG, I say this game is a great modern sonic title (as opposed to awful **** like Sonic The Hedgehog 2006) to play. Switching between 2 different sonics from different eras was a nice touch. I don't think any other modern sonic title can stand up to this.

Great game, but to be honest from my experience with this game, I prefer my version I own on the PS3, it may be at 30fps, longer load times and no mod support, but I hate playing this game on a 360 controller, D-Pad sucks A**, and playing a 2D game on a analog stick is painful, the PS3 controller is miles better. Although I know I could use a program to use my PS3 controller I can't get it to work no matter what I do. If someone could help me I'd be more then willing to re-do this review.

It's still an amazing game, although this version im reviewing I think there are better Sonic games, Like All-Stars Racing Transformed, Unleashed and Adventure 1.
I usually give the games I review a score, but i really can't give a fair score here I'm sorry, but I hope this review helps in any real way.
The PS3 version gets a 9.0/10

A much needed dose of nostalgia. It's got that Sonic feel that we loved when we were kids.
Although having played several other games since my Sonic days I can admit that the camera and controls aren't the best.
Well you can't have it all I guess! Finally a decent Sonic game after so long.

This is the definitive version of the best modern sonic game out there. The main story is short, but the challenges and red coins will keep you playing, and there's many mods to extend your experience. There's even a mod which which adds all the day-time stages from Sonic Unleashed, allowing you to enjoy a last-gen console exclusive title in 60fps full HD on the PC.

I consider this game, as well as Unleashed and Colors, to be well crafted 3D Sonic games. Fantastic level design combined with great music and a good presentation. The story is a little underplayed and is the only factor that seemed unchanged since 1991; however, do we need any other motivation other than Eggman is up to no good and Sonic must stop him? The game is short, however the amount of optional stuff, broad level design, and massive modding community will keep you occupied for months. This game is a Grand Adventure in both scope and fun.

The game itself isn't to bad, but with mods it becomes pretty good.

Sometimes the level design is really smart, like in Seaside hill act 2 there are 2 or 3 2D sections, but if you play the level well or take a certain path you only have to take a small 2D section, or maybe you don't even have to play a 2D section, but levels like this don't happen much, instead you mostly get levels like Green hill and Speed highway, were if you're good you can beat the level with one hand.

Buy if getting mods, wait for it to go on sale if you're not going to use mods.

Hands down the best 3d Sonic game to date.

Good:
- Beautiful graphics
- Underplayed and actually decent story
- You only play as Sonic
- As always, excellent music
- Gameplay as both classic and modern Sonic is top notch with a+ level design
- You actually get to go fast! In a Sonic game!
- The camera isn't fighting you every step of the way

Bad:
- Poorly optimized for PC. You will have framerate issues unless you have a beefy PC
- Rouge the Temptress mission is bugged and can be a pain in the ♥♥♥ to complete
- Feels a little short, espeically if you aren't going for all the red rings or trying to complete every mission

Overall an excellent title and the best Sonic game to come out in the last several years. A must buy for any Sonic fan.

If it isn't Sonic Adventure, it's this game. Sonic Generations made an excellent come back into the franchise with a little bit of every other game before it into the mix. If you love Sonic Unleashed Day Time stages and Sonic Colors, you will love this!

Main storyline is pretty short and fun, nice and varied. Kind of makes you miss the old formula, but it's still for the most part a "best of" compilation with some fun extras. Some of the 3-D sections are stinkers and the last boss is a pretty poor attempt, but otherwise if you want a nostalgia trip with some decent platforming, this should scratch that itch. When the cutscenes are poking fun at themselves they're ocasionally kind of funny.

If you can learn to like the "re-used assets mission" format there's a lot of replayability but trying to S-rank some of these things looks like an excercise in futility to me.

This is easily the best Sonic game out there. Sega made a masterpiece with this. The story is meh, but the gameplay is phenomenal. The controls are smooth and work well, though you need a controller to truly enjoy them (I use xbox 360 controllers).

Sonic Generations is a treat and a testament to any Sonic fan or anyone who played the old Sonic games since the early 90's and dared to keep up with the franchise despite the negativity from the mass critics.

Positives:
+Play as classic Sonic (Sonic The Hedgehog series)
+Play as new-gen Sonic (from Sonic Adventure and newer games)
+Fan favorite levels are recreated and remastered looking better than ever
+Relive the most iconic boss fights in Sonic history
+Tons of side-quests
+Tons of collectables
+Hard Mode
+Mods

Negatives:
-Only 2 playable characters
-Nothing really new in terms of innovation and/or originality
-Controls are stiff sometimes
-Short Storyline
-Side-quests re-use the same maps slightly changed to fit each objective

If you haven't played the other Sonic games, then this game may not make alot of sense to you. I would definitely play Sonic 2, Sonic CD and Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 BEFORE playing this game so that you can fully appreciate what Sega has done here, Sonic games are simple but there is alot of depth to the characters and where they originated.

As someone who grew up on Sonic games, this game took me back to my childhood memories. I literally almost cried a couple times, to see Green Hill Zone Act 1 recreated with Pixar graphics, it made me really think to myself, is this how I thought the game looked like when I was a kid? You know how when you're a kid and your imagination is much more apparent so 16-bit games look much better to a kid than say an adult. To revisit this level in this way was a dream.

One of my favorite things about this game is that you can change the music of each level/act. I replayed Green Hill Zone Act 1 with the original music and then the hit song "Sonic Boom" and it just gives the game a different feeling every time.

This is a love letter to Sonic fans around the world, a celebration of one of the most iconic and classic video game characters and companies ever to grace the industry.

When you've finished this game, be sure to find and install a mod called Super Sonic Revolution. This makes the do that you can play as Super Sonic and yes, Hyper Sonic. It totally revamps the game so it's like you will be playing it for the first time.

rarely ever decides to launch and when it does (and if you can get past the extremely buggy 99% of the time broken config launcher) it runs like ♥♥♥♥. some people get good performance some dont. even if your PC MASSIVELY exceeds minimum specs it'd take a miracle and goat sacrifice to get this cursed pile of dog ♥♥♥♥ to work.

Allright, I purchased this game mostly because I heard that you get to play original Sonic 1 in it. So, yeah... After beating the act 1, I figured out that I should do it again, but now in 3d. And so I did and still nothig, so... I beat the game and finished most of the challanges in 2d and 3d, looking for the mistical Sonic 1 all around and couldn't find it anywhere. So, after spending several hours in my noble quest to be able to play Sonic 1 in PC without some sort of simulator, I gave up on my own logic and I went to consult with the oracle (Google), looking for clues of how to get to this point of the game where you'll be able to play Sonic 1... To find out, that you actually can't. Not on PC version, at least. So, yeah... That was pretty dissapointing.

And the game itself is allright, though there are just like... 9 levels and 3 bosses. 18 levels, if you take in count the 3d version of those and 4 bosses, if you count the final one. So, after you beat those, welcome to the challenges and stuff. But it's enjoyable to replay some of the levels, so it's allright. Not a big fan of 3d Sonic, though.

7/10.

So everybody says Sonic is a dying franchise, commenting that it hasn't had a good game in forever. I immediately show those people Sonic Generations, a game which combines the classic 2D platforming of the Genesis games and the modern Boost to Win gameplay of the newer titles. Sonic Generations blends these two gamestyles together without it being forced. The levels are great, the music is spectacular, and the game is just amazing all the way through. Get this game ASAP, because going fast will never feel any better.
