After having played the Dreamcast, GCN, and finally PC version of this game, I can say that this is pretty decent overall.
It has all the goodies that the Dreamcast didn't, such as the black market, hero/dark chao, and a reward for collecting all 130 emblems (not spoiling it). Of course, it also has the enhanced HD graphics if those are up to your taste (some prefer nostalgia).

Pros:
E-102 Gamma (shooting stages)
Open World (Could be a con for some)
Tails accompanies Sonic in his action stages, and can be controlled by a second player to collect items.
Did I mention Tails isn't in a stupid mech?
Treasure hunting stages are more polished than SA2, and provide a better detection system.
The game feels fluid, and the controls work properly for the most part.
The goals of each stage are clearly explained
Flashy powerups
Excellent menu theme
Chao garden
Hidden emblems that can be found throughout the open world
Intense, action based gameplay (for most stages anyway)

Cons:
Big.
Camera can be wonky (is a problem in all versions)
Screen resolution is somewhat awkward depending on your monitor
Chao cannot be transferred from SADX to SA2 (without the use of mods)
Button to pick up a chao is mapped to the same button that pulverizes it (spin dash)
No online capabilities, so no online bonuses like on the Dreamcast (again, modding may fix this)
Terrible voice acting
Mediocre story
Open world is pretty mundane
No Shadow (I kid...)

Has this game aged well? Probably not, but that doesn't mean it's not fun. It can provide a sense of nostalgia for previous players, and still entertain newcomers. I still prefer the GCN version over this, but this is a solid substitute that can be worth your time.

Sonic Adventure DX is a GameCube game that was well recieved by fans but not so much with critics. Why? Let's find out

STORY
Story itself isn't very interesting. You meet misterious echidna called Tikal and well.... er..... i don't really know. But at least it tries to take itself seriously unlike newer sonic games so that's a huge plus!

GAMEPLAY
Every character haves own unique gameplay style. Sonic is get to the goal ring or capsule, Tails is get to the goal ring or capsule before Sonic, Knuckles is collecting pieces of the master emerald, Amy is get the hell away from some robot, Gamma is run'n'gun, and Big is fishing

Sonic Stages are fast paced and just dang fun to play
Tails Same like Sonic but preasure is bigger
Knuckles Not too bad. At least radar shows all 3 pieces at the same time
Amy Panty Shot Adventure DX. But for real, it's least interesting one. She runs so sssssssllllllloooooooowwwwwww and level design can be a*s sometimes
Gamma It controls much better and faster than in SA2. It's really fun but time limit is unnecesary
Big I can't believe i'm saying this but sweet damn...... i enjoyed.......

SOUNDTRACK
It's almost flawless. This is type of music that i want in sonic games. Bit*hing guitar solo, awesome vocals..... not this techno Violin, Piano stuff....

OVERALL
Not as amazing as SA2 but it's still great. Yeah camera and framerate can be a*s sometimes and you will hurt your Chao just by accident more than you think, but it didn't ruin experience for me. It's Dreamcast/GameCube classic that you don't want to miss. 8/10

Sonic Adventure was Sonic's first real 3D-Adventure. It has a great soundtrack (even nowadays), great Levels and overall alot of content (very hard content). It just has to suffer from some small issues. For example, this game has 6 main chars which you have to play through, badly you often have to repeat levels and this makes the whole game a bit monotonous. Another disadvantage of the game is the char Big the cat and his gameplay mechanic, fishing. Badly the mechanic is explained awfully bad , so it is really hard to figure out how this works. This can be really frustrating. The DX-version of the game suffers also additionally of many "new" bugs that the original version did not have. But overall, it is a real great platformer with alot of content. Great levels, great soundtrack, but with some strange bugs, monotonous gameplay and one char that is awfully bad explained. If that still does not bother you, you get a really good platformer!

Played this on the Dreamcast when it first came out and blew my mind- the graphics, so "futuristic" (it was actually ahead of the curve at the time) I own this game on the NGC as well, but for the price, it was worth downloading for PC.

The game is clunky, voice acting is terrible (except for Robotnic) and it has LOTS of camera problems and bugs- but for a game originally released 16 years ago, this is forgivable- however, things like music mixing during cut-scenes and the added in Cream and upgraded Chao's flickering like mad with polygons exploding, this stuff is unforgivable and further adds to Sonic Team's reputation of lacking polish.

Look past the flaws and its a fun nostalgic game, Sonic missions are the best with some speed sections that actually work (unlike Sonic 06), the music, although cheese-tastic, is upbeat and fun, and its always a treat listening to Eggman repeating "get a load of this" and "all systems full power" 10 times a second.

If you enjoyed or even remembered this game from your past, I would download it, If you are the new generation of gamer I would probably avoid it, unless you are willing to put up with its flaws and limitations, it sure does make you respect today's hardware and game engines.

Honestly, this game is more enjoyable than half of what the Sonic franchise has had to offer in a over a decade.
