Dark Rising Patch 102

A new patch for Dark Rising has been released. This is a very small patch that adds a few tweaks and a new building.

Dark Rising Patch 101

Hi everyone,

I'm happy to announce the first patch for Dark Rising has been released. This patch fixes quite a few small bugs and a few larger ones that were affecting gameplay. Below is a list of changes, fixes, and tweaks that come with the latest update:

[New] Added a stand ground stance to keep pledges from wandering off
[New] Volume sliders for music and master sound

[Tweak] Improved single clicking to select units
[Tweak] Nighttime and overall brightness has been increased
[Tweak] You can now train pledges and build your village in the first level
[Tweak] Achievements have been slightly rebalanced
[Tweak] Swamp Level 01 has one less round
[Tweak] Spiders give more gold when killed
[Tweak] Zombies are more resistant to arrow fire

[Bug] Enemy would stop spawning in Skylands Level 02
[Bug] Adding spikes to a castle would cause pathfinding problems
[Bug] When placing a building and switching the type of building, the player would lose the ablity to select and control units.
[Bug] When offline, score would not be displayed correctly after level
[Bug] Shadows would move in the wrong direction at mid-day
[Bug] Tower flames were not always appearing on damaged tower
[Bug] Tower collapse animation missing
[Bug] Stone castle preview had front garrison slots facing wrong direction
[Bug] Royal castle glitches (rotation error)
[Bug] Can't select stone castle ingame
[Bug] Skylands 01 chapel gather path is not visible

Upcoming Content
Although Dark Rising has been released, I still want to keep updating the game and adding some new content. In the near future I'll be adding:

  • Pledges gain experience points when killing zombies
  • New enemy type that is especially good at destroying towers
  • Fountain of health (building that slowly heals pledges)

About This Game

Upgrade your castle, build towers, expand your village and train loyal pledges who will fight, and die at your command. Dark Rising is a tower defense game for anyone who's looking for a more in-depth approach to the popular genre. It strives to mix in real-time strategy features without losing sight of the tried and true tower defense format.

Expect waves and waves of zombies, ghosts, and deadly spiders attacking your castle. However, it's your choice how to defend yourself. You could stick with building outposts and towers. Sturdy defenses might do the trick. Or maybe you would prefer training up an army of adventurers who are willing to fight and die for your cause. The choice is up to you.

  • Simple resource management: balance population, food, and water in order to train more soldiers.
  • Customize your castle in adventure mode.
