About This Game

Worms™: Ultimate Mayhem is the definitive 3D "Worms™" game! Load your weapons and experience a whole new dimension in destructive turn-based cartoon action! Taking the game into 3D creates all-new strategic and gameplay possibilities. With over 70 single-player missions and challenges, online and local multi-player for up to 4 players, 5 multi-player modes, Steam Achievements, unprecedented customization of both worms and weapons, and fully destructible environments, it’s bursting with anarchic mayhem. Battle and puzzle your way through all of the missions from both "Worms™ 3D" and "Worms™ 4: Mayhem" - it’s essentially two games in one. With the addition of HD visuals, gameplay enhancements and new extra content, it is the ultimate 3D "Worms™" collection!

Key Features

  • A vast array of single-player content spanning the very best of the 3D "Worms™" games, ranging from shooting challenges to speed runs, whilst a collection of crazy missions, interspersed with newly fully voiced narrative FMV sequences, make up the single-player campaign. Additionally, a huge number of challenges ask the player to master the individual skills of the game (such as piloting a Jetpack or steering a Parachute) in order to complete tasks such as target shooting or collecting targets, all against the clock.
  • Full online play for up to 4 players over a wealth of game modes such as "Statue Defend", "Homelands" or just plain "Deathmatch", plus the ability to create your own custom game settings to play against your friends! Because of the turn-based nature of the game, it can be played multi-player offline on one screen.
  • Fight on the randomly generated landscapes, even save and share them, which allows for a huge amount of multi-player map options!
  • Play standard or ranked games in a bid to scale the Steam Leaderboards!
  • Players are able to name their teams, choose which hats they want their worms to wear, whether they wear glasses, have moustaches, what they say, which flag represents them, and even what gravestone they leave behind when they die.
  • Many of the classic Worms™ weapons are present and correct, with the Holy Hand Grenade, Bazooka, Dynamite, Banana Bomb, Baseball Bat, Super Sheep and many more in your arsenal of destruction.
  • There is also a sprinkling of even more crazy and surreal weapons too, such as Alien Abduction, Fatkins Strike, Flood, Inflatable Scouser, Old Woman, Starburst and Bovine Blitz with which to wage war on your enemies.
  • Players are also able to construct their own weapons from a wide selection of components. These weapons are added to the players’ arsenals and remain secret until deployed, giving opponents a nasty shock.
  • In-game voice-chat so you can cheer on team mates or indeed win the battle against opponents verbally!
  • Deform everything in real-time.
  • This tracks every action a player makes when attacking, whilst at the same time allowing the player to retreat and not miss a single moment of the glorious action.
  • New camera enhancements make it easier to follow the action; optimized AI means more intelligent enemies, and the addition of speech and lip-synching to the single-player missions makes for even more cinematic fun!
  • New visual improvements, with dynamic real time lighting and post process effects and shaders, make the mayhem look even more impressive.

I bought this game a while ago, when it was on sale. Loved Worms 3D, so I thought it would be worth a try. And it was! The game is very similar to 3D, except for the costomization options for your worms. Also the coin and store system has been integrated, there are even some weapons to buy for coins that you earn for mastering challenges. And the best thing: they included the Worms 3D story so even after you finished the normal story it won't get boring playing in single-player.
Although I did not dare to try the competetive mode, I would recommend this game to everyone who played Worms 3D.
But get it for sale!

Being such a big Worms fan I absolutely love this game, but the thing that makes me love it even more is the fact that it's very reminiscent of Worms: 3D on the PlayStation 2, as it was the first Worms game that I ever played. I also adore the fact that Team17 included the Worms: 3D campaign because playing some of the older levels makes me very nostalgic :3

Fun bit of nostalgia, and the game would be fine overall, if not for the godawful camera. Just read all the other reviews. It's true. It's god awful. The algorithm is terrible. When an explosion occurs, the game focuses on worms that are flying off into the ocean. This is useless. You want to see what happens to the other worms, where they will fall, how much health they have left. But you won't see that, because before the explosion even finishes, the camera pans away to chase the worm that's flying away, which is totally useless information.

I owned Worms 4 Mayhem (on my PC) and Worms 3D (on my PS). Now owning Ultimate Mayhem, I can play the games again and have fun with all the crazy things the worms say and do.

My only complaint is that in the Worms 4 Mayhem version I owned, I was able to obtain coins for the shop by using game styles I made/modified. In the Ultimate Mayhem version, however, that is not the case.

This is pretty much exactly like every worms game ever, except in a 3D environment. Grab your friends and blow eachother up and laugh when you die funny and stupid ways. The worms games have always been fun for that sole purpose... finding amusing and creative ways to maim eachothers worms and send them to their doom. Single player is okay, but I recommend buying this for yourself and gifting a copy to a gamer friend to play it with.

-My friend killed me by poking me
-I took revenge by hitting him with an uppercut Yelling SHOYRUKEN as loud as possible
-he then proceeded to launch a fat kid towards me
-I then took Holy Hand Gernade and said "You Need Jesus." then killed two of his guys
-he took all his dignity and hurrled himself towards me with a firework and we both died.

gotta love worms.

For people who can't find humor in this review here's a short "serious" checklist.
NOTE: I have none of the DLC

-great online games with friends.
-3D Worms is good.
-Weapons are fun
-So many references can be made to almost every weapon
-"FOR THE LOLS" - My friend
-customiization is fun

Can be taken either way
-Glitchy, at times, but its the funny kind of glitchy-ness
-customization is diverse, but on the other hand, feels restrained

-you might lose a friend or two, if you're lucky, only for a month
-Control set up is kind of hard to manage and change, ESPECIALLY camera movemnent

This game is one of the best games to play with friends. Well, I used to have friends, but i shot one with a bazooka. Then I decimated the others with a flatulent grandmother, and I finished the rest off by litterally pooping on them with a poop airstrike. 10/10

Worms 3D + Worms 4 Mayhem together, with remastered graphics? Awesome!

All is good, good except the lack of effort put into it.
I almost feel like they were doing something good but quit half-way because deadlines or something, they didn't even do much follow up after release besides patching game-breaking bugs that didn't allow people to play at all. If I'm recalling correctly the beta correctly, they were trying to put the teleporter utility back in, but ended up not for who knows what reason (although I never got to play it at that time personally due to game launching bugs, so I watched someone else also in the beta who could).

Secondly, the lack of Wompot in unraked matches despite still being workable with no bugs (tested with cheat engine), and not being able to choose your team color online is rather disapointing. What's your beef T17? You are doing no one any favours by gradually removing features every game, you actually discontented customers. I can garentee my play time would be almost double it is now if wormpot wasn't removed from unranked matches where you play with friends.
Speaking of lack of effort, want to know something about one of the DLC maps? It litterally looks like it was generated with the in-game map editor, but they added in a few insignificant objects to it to make it qualify as a DLC. Gross.

What's with Team 17 and bombing their remasters? First this, now Worms World Party.

I can't really recommend or not recommend this game over the older games. This is a 2 in 1 game with enhanced looks (and voice acting for W4M story), and has a huge imporvement on physics and camera movement over the original W3D (though, it is practically the same with W4M), but due to the removal of some core features it really gets brought down (I can't even play a modded game without a modded .exe now).
