Acerca deste jogo

Recettear is the story of an item shop, the girl who lives in it, and the fairy who turned her life upside down. Recette Lemongrass finds herself in charge of an item shop built into her house, in order to pay back a loan her father took and then skipped out on - and Tear, her newfound fairy "companion", won't take no for an answer! As Recette, you have to decide how you'll get your stock - either through playing the markets in town or going out into the wild with an adventuring friend and thrashing beasts until they give up the goodies - how much to sell things for, what the shop should look like, and how to best go about getting the money Tear needs to pay off the loan. If you can't come up with the money... well, hope you like living in a cardboard box.

Key features:

  • Manage all aspects of an item shop – from stock to interior design!
  • Explore randomized dungeons – never quite the same twice!
  • Multiple adventurers to choose from when dungeon-diving – no two play the same!
  • Plenty to do after beating the game – challenge yourself with Survival Mode or play to your heart's delight in Endless Mode!
  • Engaging story, localized by Carpe Fulgur – get to know the people of Pensee!

Recettear is an item shop management game that includes dungeon crawling, item fusions, and hero item management. The ability to haggle with customers and handle their special requests ("I want a weapon!") keeps things interesting but the UI, menus, and controls can be a hassle. The anime style and irritating sound effects do get on my nerves, but I did have fun playing this game in short bursts. I wish it was more open-ended, but you have strict repayment deadlines that you must keep or else you fail. Not perfect, not terrible, fun, but not THAT fun. Recommended if on sale.

PROS
+ You get to run your own item shop!
+ Gathering items to sell and equip via dungeon crawling is fun
+ Haggling with customers and handling special requests adds flavor
+ Leveling up heroes and upgrading shop keeps things interesting
+ Lots of items to collect, fuse, sell, and equip
+ Storyline might be interesting to some (I thought it was silly)

CONS
- Japanese/Anime style may irritate some (girly giggles and constant whining come to mind)
- Dungeon diving is very basic and combat is relatively shallow
- Permanently equipping your heroes is a chore (they have to randomly buy item in store)
- Lots of pointless dialogue including tons of EH's, UM's, OH's, !!!!'s, etc.
- Relatively linear due to repayment deadlines and ongoing storyline
- Clunky controls and confusing UI make it seem like a simple RPG Maker game

CONS:
- anime girls
- anime voices
- japanese words can be heard
- no integrated config to swap out keys
- ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥ music
- repetitive gameplay

PROS:
- "Another wonderful day for capitalism"
- If Donald Trump was a loli anime girl with a sqeaky voice selling ♥♥♥♥♥♥ items to the same 6 people, this would be the game he would star in.
- Capitalism
- Build that wall
- CAN'T STUMP THE TRUMP
- It genuinely is alot of fun to play.

Recettear is, Simply put, one of my favorite JRPG's ive played, and will continue to play. You wanna know how addicting this is? I once played this game for a total of 9 hours straight, through the night and until dawn at 5:00AM, not pausing once, or taking a break for food.

Yeah, i felt dissapointed inside as well.

The concept is incredibly simple. You're a girl, who's dad went off to go be a JRPG hero himself, and left you, his daughter...In massive debt. So, the option is simple! Start your own item shop, hiring adventurers to go collect items with you, selling them for a reeeeasonable feeeee, and watching yourself reach Mob-boss levels of upsurd wealth and greed.

Recettear, for once, is a perfect 10/10 game. I never regretted buying it, and ill probaby continue to play it for times to come.

I've had a keen interest in economics for some time.

On the side of that, we have Recettear; a game that is about managing a store as a means to pay off a debt left by your (possibly deceased) father, which sounds kind of cliche. However, there aren't many games that come to mind which result in handling stock and trying to make a profit off them (or at least try to do better than break even). Your starting week will probably end up being pretty confusing, even with the 'tutorials' and tips given to you by Tear as you go along, but it's generally a game that doesn't really want to hold your hand, which makes the game more enjoyable when you do realize how the market works.

You attain goods through "second party" sources, which you then must sell at your own accord to customers that will buy what they desire. As a footnote, each character has their own threshold of how much of an increase over the base price they will generally be content with. It's mostly about experimentation, and knowing what your customers want to fulfill their window shopping into actual purchases (adventures will rarely buy anything outside of weapons/armor etc. but do sometimes request other goods), so having at least one of each selection will help your store and profits as the weeks pass.

Generally, your success for each week may or may not be enough to pay the debt, but one thing to note is that Recettear has no true end. If you do happen to fall on the payment, you still maintain everything you have, which allows you to keep trying new approaches to making good on each weekly payment the next time around. It's not a particularly challenging game, but it does require you to think about your investments, and what to sell. That said, if you consider Recettear as a stock market... it should give you a push in the right direction if you follow through.

While Reccetear does have an anime theme style, it doesn't really detract from the game itself. You can even turn off the voice acting cuts that crop up every now and then. You'll be reading text boxes throughout anyway.

An enjoyable and interesting experience, for sure. Give the demo a try. Highly recommended purchase if it ever goes on sale and/or if you like the concept of buying/selling. Mmm, meta.

This game is still one of my favorites - tons of replay value, and it's simple enough to pick back up even after long periods of time, but complex enough to keep me interested. Add to that the fact that Recette and Tear together are an adorably entertaining duo, and it's easy to understand why this is one of the most beloved indie games evar. If you're one of the few who hasn't had the opportunity to try out Recettear, I wholeheartedly recommend it - it'll definitely be worth your time!

The one complaint I would make (and it's minor) is that the controls require keyboard (no biggie), but the controls themselves are non-standard.... WASD are not your primary keys. Once I figured out the controls, this was a non-issue, but if I could have any change to Recettear to make it perfect, it would be an update that makes it compatible with my Logitech controller. Other than that, I adore this game. Hours of cheap entertainment, this game's kept my attention longer than many of my "bigger" games.

This is a refreshing breath of air. The art style is nice, game play is solid, and the dialog is entertaining. The only this I wished was that you could carry over your adventurers between runs. This is not a deal breaker, because the game is still extremely fun. 9/10

Recettear was that game always in the back of my head. It sounded good, running an item store, hiring adventurers to lug your stuff back so you could sell it. It was unique.

Grabbing it in the Anime Sale, I dove in and instantly knew I'd be running the most fair adventuring item store. In the lore of the game, 130% of base price is a 'respectable' sell price, which is assumed to mean, fair.

I set my constant initial offer to 120%, and that was that. 70% of customers didn't want to pay that, they believed the guild who ran 130% baseline were cheaper. This went on for three days, until I was ripping my hair out, wondering how the customers couldn't see the fair deal they were being given constantly. Through frustration, and necessity, the fourth day I gave huge prices to my items, 150% ~ 160%, none of them stormed off at the initial offer...

"Can't you make it just a little cheaper?"

147%

"That's a fair price!"

That lady who wants the bread?
♥♥♥♥ her.

That old man needing clothes?
♥♥♥♥ him.

That little girl who needs gardening gloves?
♥♥♥♥ her too.

The next customer?
♥♥♥♥ them the hardest.

Welcome to Recettear... how can I ♥♥♥♥ you today?

I put off buying this game for 3 years, decided to grab it during the sale. I haven't been able to stop playing it since I started it. I love it, beat the game twice and then started the endless mode to gain better items and build a bigger store. Having a store and selling stuff is addicting, especially when the money adds up to millions later on!!

It's a simple game. A young girl needs to pay off her fathers debt, and to do so her and her fairy companion start a store in her house.

My favorite is hunting for items in the dungeon!! Fighting the monsters is really fun, and not hard at all.

I'm so into this game, looking for other's like it. Maybe, Chantelise - A Tale of Two Sisters next.
If anyone has any recommendations, I would appreciate it! :)

This game is a lot of fun!

I went into this game expecting an average game due to the look on the cover, but I got something that actually surprised me in how fun it was. To give a brief summary of the gameplay, you are a shopkeeper selling villagers and adventureres items in order to pay back debts. So basically it is the other side of the gameplay in most RPG games which makes it entertaining. The game is rather easy to understand and get a hold of and is realitvely short once you understand it. Paying off the debt isn't actually that big of a challenge, but its fun to work to that. There is also an ARPG mode where you can explore dungeons and get items back to sell.

Although the game is pretty fun, it starts to get repetitive near the end. However, due to the shortness of the game, unless you continue on in endless or survival, it is the perfect amount to keep you interested. Overall, fun game to play especially if you like the feeling of making profit (like me. I always go play the role of merchant in games I play and try to horde and maximize profit haha).

This is a great game. There' plenty of dialogue and pretty funny events throughout the game. There's also plenty of slightly less intentional humor when a customer walks in to sell their family heirloom, a ham sandwich. If you like capitalism, then this game is for you. The only knock on this game is that the difficulty progresses as a misleadingly steep pace.

That said, the game does handle that well enough inside of itself- you can take what you learned (and earned)- into future attempts.

The characters are cute, the gameplay, while a little rough around the edges is perfectly playable and most importantly fun. You can't ignore the shop aspect, which I think some might find as a negative, but that's the sell of the game, not the dungeons- you play as the shop keep, not the dungeon crawler, after all.

All in all, this might be my favorite game on Steam. It does everything it sets out to do well, which is something that we can't objectively say about most games.
