Why Early Access?

“Early access is one of the best ways we can get the idea of many players. Early access to the game gives players the opportunity to test earlier, while on the other hand they can contribute greatly to improving the game with their ideas. Early access has a great importance for the development of the project.

The game is still in pre-alpha stage and the development is ongoing. We want to develop in communication with the community. I am confident that the community will be very useful to improve the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It is quite difficult to give a definite date, but depending on the size of the features we want to add, the time may increase or decrease. We can say that it will not last more than 1 year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“It will definitely have a different and more content than the current one. At this point, we will be focusing on the community feedback and also the features which we plan to add. Some of the features are;

  • Random generated island system where everything will be generated procedural. Currently we are using a procedural generated map but we didn’t implemented it where it can be generated upon creating a new game.

  • New environment assets and different areas like islands made of ice or volcanic.

  • Currently we can support up to 200 agents with solid fps. Our aim is to optimize it up to 500 or more. We will be focusing on dividing the agent code on multiple threads. This change may increase the agent size up to 1000. But it will require some deep optimization on all areas of the game. Hopefully we will achieve that goal as soon as possible.

  • We are going to add more different types of turrets.

  • New enemy creatures.

  • Titans with boss abilities.

  • Deeper skill and upgrade system.

  • Different new vehicles like hover crafts, buggies and flying drones.

  • New game mode ideas from the community will be considered too.

  • And of course a clean release with no bugs and crash issues.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of early access summarizes the overall concept of the game. The game is stable and playable. We will continue to improve it according to the feedback from the community. Our primary goal is to evaluate the early access process well and improve the game according to the feedback of the players.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Price will not change when we leave early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want to develop the game in a close relationship with the community. We will continue to work hard so that the DEFENDERS OF THE FALLEN ISLAND can become the best hybrid tower defense game. We will closely follow the community's thoughts and what they want to see in the game.”

New Patch (hotfix) - v0.0.0.1 -

  • Fixed random atmosphere system not working on new created games.
  • Reduced the range of all turrets. All turrets starts with average low range but increases gradually when upgraded.
  • Japanese translation update.

New Features

Procedural generated island system
  • We have implemented our new procedural island system. There are 30 different generated islands. For each new created game, the system loads a random island. Also each 20th level the system teleports player to another random island.
Difficulty levels
  • Added 4 different difficulty levels. Easy, medium, hard and impossible. Each difficulty level increases the monster health rate. Also for multiplayer games, each player increases the difficulty level.
Random atmosphere system
  • The system creates a unique atmosphere for each island.
Ultimate portal system
  • This feature was already implemented in our core build. We have increased the rate of the event. The ultimate portals summons special kind of invaders which are not dropping any kind of resources. These portals are summoning continously and increases the rate of summoning speed in time. Players should hurry to destroy these types of portals as soon as possible.
Camera zoom in-out
  • By using mouse wheel players can zoom in or out for better viewport.
Invert mouse option
  • Added new inverting mouse option to the settings menu.
New Anti-Aliasing system
  • We added new anti-aliasing system to our camera. It can be adjusted from the settings menu.
Foliage quality settings
  • Our new generated islands have different types of foliage. We added some options which players can adjust for better performance on low spec PC's.
New translation: Japanese
  • Thanks to our community member "CURRY_DAYS" we managed to add japanese translation to our game.
Loading tips
  • We will provide some useful information on loading windows to help the players.
  • Fixed upgrade menu not working on certain camera angles.
  • Fixed shadow flicker issues.
  • Improved atmosphere performance.
  • Removed drone colliders.
  • Improved performance on post process effects.
  • Improved multiplayer lobby system.

About This Game

Do you have what it takes to defend what is yours? This is not a typical tower defense game where the troops do all the work. This is a hybrid FPS/TPS tower defense game which you take over the control to defend your island.

Your ancestors built ancient temples which generates a protective energy barrier around the world. Your world is surrounded by the enemy and they got only one option to invade, destroying the ancient temples. Enemies will send their troops by creating portals all over the island. Be ready with your friends to face the enemy!

Build and upgrade your turrets, improve your stats and prepare your defenses before the invasion starts!
