Σχετικά με αυτό το παιχνίδι

The year is 2052 and the world is a dangerous and chaotic place. Terrorists operate openly - killing thousands; drugs, disease and pollution kill even more. The world's economies are close to collapse and the gap between the insanely wealthy and the desperately poor grows ever wider. Worst of all, an ages old conspiracy bent on world domination has decided that the time is right to emerge from the shadows and take control.

Key Features:

  • Real role-playing from an immersive 3D, first-person perspective. The game includes action, character interaction and problem solving.
  • Realistic, recognizable locations. Many of the locations are built from actual blueprints of real places set in a near future scenario.
  • A game filled with people rather than monsters. This creates empathy with the game characters and enhances the realism of the game world.
  • Rich character development systems: Skills, augmentations, weapon and item selections and multiple solutions to problems ensure that no two players will end the game with similar characters.
  • Multiple solutions to problems and character development choices ensure a varied game experience. Talk, fight or use skills to get past obstacles as the game adapts itself to your style of play.
  • Strong storyline: Built on "real" conspiracy theories, current events and expected advancements in technology. If it's in the game, someone, somewhere believes

Best game of all time! There's lots of great things about Deus Ex but I think it's best accomplishment is really succeeding in giving you multiple ways to approach pretty much much everything. It also gave us great branching dialouge that has only recently become more popular with games like bioware RPGs. Anyways everybody knows Deus Ex rocks so here's some games I can think of that have even a slight sense of Deus Ex-ness to them
System Shock 2
Cold Winter
The Darkness
Vampire the Masqurade: Bloodlines
the STALKER games
Chronicles of Riddick (butcher bay and dark athena)
Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind and Metro 2033 (I'm stretching with these 2)

Anyone's first experience in Deus Ex will be certain to be a good one, all the unique weapons and graphics style makes it much more different than other games. I absolutely loved the first time I found a random disc laying around (still sealed! :D) . It was Deus Ex.

This used to be one of my favorite games. It has not aged well. I'm sad to say that both the gameplay and the graphics are severely outdated. I hope that we get to see a updated version of this game, and from a 2016 standpoint I would not reccomend this game. It's still worth mentioning that this game was awesome back in the day.

One of the first games that lets you go in and go in and go in and go in and go in and go in like U.S. Marshals! At first I thought "I never asked for this", but the mighty GabeN said "What a shame!" and took my money. I Installed the game. Nothing happened. I punched the computer for an orange soda, but it gave me lemon lime. IT'S THE MAINTENANCE MAN!!! HE KNOWS I LIKE ORANGE!! Then, my computer shouted "OH MY GOD, JC!! A BOMB!!" So I averted the crisis by performing a non-lethal takedown. It was all in the numbers (each one being "terror"). UNATCO? Savage. UNATCO? Savage. UNATCO? No, Savage. It took me a week 6 months to complete the game. I'm still waiting for that mythical "Revision" on top of the hills to come.

(In all honesty, buy this game. The fun I had was beyond mere words!)

Seriously, this game is a masterpiece for the ages (Even though the aiming is rpetty trash by modern-day standards)
It's so complete and thought-out, most of the actions you can do have actual repercussions. The freedom of choice when deciding how to complete your missions are also great.

The game is, to an extent, slightly open-world (Confined to your current mission area, yet free to explore it to it's fullest)

This game is something that should be in "Obligatory games to play 101"

Truly one of the very best games ever made. The graphics are dated but the gameplay certainly is not. This game is an FPS with dialogue choices similar to modern games like Fallout 3/4/New Vegas. These dialogue choices that you are given do matter and do create differences in the story. There is a rudimentary lockpicking and computer hacking system. There are basic stealth tactics that can be used. Story missions take place in open world maps that change from one to another as the game progresses. It's really a fantastic experience. It will always be near the top of my all time list.

You'll buy it, get frustrated by it, refund it to Steam before finishing the first mission, come across a review that points out the frustrations and lays down the basics of how to understand it, decide to give it another chance, realize that the least you could have done the first time around was not skip the rest of the 'unoptional' opening training course, get sucked into it when you figure it out, and conquer the temptation to write your review in a poorly realized Chinese accent.

At least that's my experience.

The original Deus Ex has made its way into my all-time favourites since my very first time playing it about three years ago, and it is unfortunate that I did not experience this masterpiece when it came out. Just over two months ago, I finished replaying it, and those were amazing two-odd weeks ploughing through its almost perfect campaign.

This is the ultimate epitome of a first-person role-playing game. Even its very few flaws do not result in any considerable frustration, and the fluidity in gameplay and mechanics outbalance the blemishes, thanks to its excellent insertion of the augmentation system and its relevance to mission progression, or its meticulously designed maps, or its well-balanced and concise skill chart. Stealth would a little improvement in terms of AI response and timing of critical moments (e.g. the player is often found in situations in which, after being flat-out spotted, the only urgency is to hide behind a crate so that the sin is forgiven), and it must be said that this is the game’s most apparent problem. In sum, the challenge that the stealth element poses is greatly reduced by the enemy’s poor response and follow-up actions to spotting. Another problem is the shallow issue of graphics and general animation. Naturally, this is a minor aspect to worry about, but it could be argued that textures, as well as said animations, are not en par with games from the same period, such as the posterior Return to Castle Wolfenstein, or even the preceding System Shock 2; both more visually appealing than Deus Ex.

It could be argued that story, writing and player’s choice are the pillars that hold the game up there on the eRPG Olympus. The main premise encompasses themes such as global conspiracy, scientific/pharmaceutical agendas, corporate domination of geopolitics, and the confines of biological manipulation. The approach to such themes demonstrates the maturity and profound research done by main writer Sheldon Pacotti, and the ideological directions that the game can take will depend solely on the player, without any biases ultimately affecting the general mood. Main missions are no-nonsense tasks that are as intimately related to the plotline as a story-driven gaming narrative can get, and the side missions are an additional flavour to the lore that periodically unravels with each book or data vault accessed. Everything works in perfect unison.

The long and versatile campaign can be played several times and still not be exhausted from all the plot possibilities that arise should the player simply pick a different choice when dealing with a major objective. The choices shall always be there, whether the headway involves breaching into a building to reach a quest target’s whereabouts, or choosing the fate of the populace from a destitute area portrayed in a grim future. Additionally, the story carries convincing alternate chronicles for the fictional geopolitical scenario that it proposes: the protagonist J. C. Denton travels to multiple locations in different real-world countries and, either through news segments found on papers casually lying about or through dialogue, is able to make sense of the plot and the dystopian intricacies that it articulates. In fact, every piece of plot-related data is cleverly placed and communicated, and even the interpolations are executed meticulously and with later lore to back it up as the player advances through the missions. The several twists in the narrative never wane, precisely because every bit of adversity is accounted for during gameplay and is there to integrate the political dilemma posed by the storyline.

Remarkably orchestrated, Deus Ex excels at virtually every aspect of gaming development, which paved the way for the title to become such a successful franchise afterwards. Incorporation of several gameplay dynamics may be its most notable quality – quite a novelty for a late-90s/early-2000s game, and a virtue that it shares with the likes of the aforementioned System Shock 2, for instance –, even though story and writing may be its greatest one *for an RPG*. In terms of audio production, besides some decent voice acting, the beautiful soundtrack conveys the game’s cyberpunk aesthetics, and the synth-based music is an aural delight composed by Unreal-genius Alexander Brandon and Michiel van den Bos, among others. Deus Ex is a genuine gem of its time and onwards; a complete package for those who crave for a mature action-RPG experience and/or for those who want a taste of high-quality sci-fi in a videogame.

Absolutely fantastic game, one of the definitive titles that comes to mind with the words "Classic PC Gaming"

While this game falls far short if you view it as either and FPS or an RPG, it shines when you strip it of a genre and see it for what it is, a unique amalgamation of the two combined with incredible level design, meaningful exploration, a compelling plot, one of the catchiest soundtracks around, and that special voice acting so bad it's charming.

While the game feels rather clunky at first, especially if you don't understand how the RPG mechanics affect the combat, this is soon overcome, and JC(your meme-tastic protagonist), will be running at obscene speeds, leaping over giant robots, tanking bullets, breathing underwater, and shooting drones out of his arm. The game has fantastic replay value while taking you linearly through a series of large levels that can be completed in entirely different manners depending on your character build.

Absolutely recommend for anyone who likes a quality video game, this one will take 20-30 hours depending on how you play it.

Deus Ex is the best shooter on the PC, It has an amazing soundtrack, good story, even the voice acting for some of the characters was surprisingly well acted despite some being stereotypes like Gunther Hermann (my favorite character in the game). The game has been surpassed by a very few shooters with no other shooter being like it. Even Human Revolution could not emulate the impact that Deus Ex had on many PC gamers. This was one of the last great Retro PC games and the only game that came even close to emulating it was probably System Shock 2 which used upgrading abilities similar to Deus Ex which might have inspired Deus Ex to add this mechanic in. The game is a great game and if you like shooters, cyberpunk, or you are just a conspiracy nut you should get this game now its really cheap anyways

I bought this game a few weeks ago along with the rest of the series. It was a sale, and the new game is coming out soon, so, I thought, I should give this a shot. What I was met with was... a suprisingly solid and fun game, despite it's dated graphics. I was first a bit put off by this game because of the kind of akwardly started first level, and the high level of difficulty the game presented to newbies, but I soon started to love the way that using your wits could easily beat a level without going guns a-blazing. The extensive lore of this game also appealed to me. I did find some fault in the game, though. Some of my problems were the unstable framerate issues when I entered large places (though this could entirely be just my computer), and the slightly rapid ending. Ovverall, I think this is a fine game, and I reccomend it.
