Two Free Updates Coming and More!

Greetings Defenders,

As we teased last week, we have an exciting announcement to share with you: We are hard at work on two more free updates to Dungeon Defenders! After these updates, it’s our goal to pass the torch onto you and give the community the tools to update Dungeon Defenders.

The first update is planned to be released onto a public beta branch in late May. It will include some of the bug fixes and quality of life changes requested by you, and finally put Moonbase where it rightfully belongs -- in Ranked. The second update will be a free content update, partially made by the community! To assist, we are actively seeking community members who are interested in contributing to this patch. If you’re interested, please contact Acen, who has volunteered to help us get the team off the ground.

After this, we will be assisting this team and you to release future updates. There are already many of you crafting unique creations for Dungeon Defenders every day, and we’re excited to give you a path to get these officially released into Ranked.

The Dungeon Defenders community is filled with passionate, talented, dedicated people. While many of you have already visited Dragonfall and rebuilt your defenses, you mean everything to us and we want to set up a future where you can always revisit the original in all its glory.

Sincerely,
The Trendy Team

Thank you for your support!

Greetings Defenders,

We’ve just updated Dungeon Defenders II Early Access with two of your most requested features -- pets and a boss! We’d really love feedback on these new features from owners of the original Dungeon Defenders, so for a limited time you can log in to DD2 to receive:

$6 premium in-game currency
“Veteran Defender” Title

We thank all of you for your support and look forward to your feedback. You might see our faces around here a bit more in the coming weeks, with some nifty news relating to the original Dungeon Defenders.

About This Game

Dungeon Defenders is a Tower Defense Action-RPG where you must save the land of Etheria from an Ancient Evil! Create a hero from one of four distinct classes to fight back wave after wave of enemies by summoning defenses and directly participating in the action-packed combat!
Customize and level your character, forge equipment, gather loot, collect pets and more! Take your hero through multiple difficulty modes and challenge/survival missions to earn more experience & even better treasure. Join your friends with 4-player online and local (splitscreen) co-op to plan your strategies together or compete in PvP Deathmatch.

Key Features

  • 4-player Online and Local Co-Op - Team-up with up to 3 friends to defend cooperatively, with character classes that support each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Dynamically combine local (splitscreen) and online players and leave/join any time, so that the game’s always full.
  • Tower-Defense Meets Action-RPG - Choose your class, customize your character & equipment, strategically assemble your defenses, and participate directly in action-packed battle to preserve your castle against the invading horde!
  • 4 Distinct Character Classes - Each character class has a different skill tree, set of towers, and even basic attacks! You can choose if you want to play stealthy, turn invisible, and plant traps behind enemy lines with the Huntress or go all out, block off choke points, and brutally beat your foes into submission with the Squire!
  • Loot and Level-Up - Grab the mounds of money and items that your defeated foes drop and trade them or store them for later use in your Item Box! Getting kills and completing waves earns you experience points, which can be used to upgrade your characters, skills, equipment, and towers on a per-statistic basis. Do you want to enhance Hit Points, Attack Rate, Damage, etc? The choice is yours... Store your massive overflow of money in the 'Mana Bank' and then spend it to improve your equipment or trade with other players. Proudly show off your best equipment in your own 'Adventurer’s Tavern', without fear of item theft!
  • Tons of Enemies and Huge Boss Fights - Over 100 simultaneous enemies will attempt to tear through your defenses and gigantic Boss Monsters will appear to rain down havoc upon everyone. Only by employing the most effective defensive strategies, teamwork, and strong characters will you defeat such devilish foes! Many enemy types run the gamut from big dumb Orcs swinging huge axes, to lithe Dark Elves that strike from the shadows, to crazy kamikaze goblins! Can you defeat the epic boss battles and collect the special loot while still defending your crystals?
  • Mission & Game Play Variety - Each level has a different visual setting, layout, enemy types, traps, and distinct surprises. To collect all the loot and reach the highest levels you must take your character through 4 difficulty modes, survival missions, challenge maps, and more! Some maps force you to have mobile defenses, guarding a crystal which warps around the map. Others have YOU attacking enemy encampments!
  • Collect and Trade Pets Online - A variety of pets exist to assist you in the land of Etheria, each with distinct behaviors. These pets can be leveled-up and customized to match your unique play-style. They can even be traded online with other players!
  • Secure Trading System - Afraid another player won't live up to their word? Use our secure trading system to trade your precious weapons, armor, and pets with other players online! Watch your name and fame spread online, as people seek out the best pet raisers or item forgers!
  • A Mountain of Stats - Every shot you take, kill you make, and defense you build is logged and recorded for posterity. Pore over the voluminous charts and graphs at the end of each session to analyze your team’s performance, quickly review your best statistics for each level, and compare your data online with other players to see who is the greatest hero of all. Furthermore, your Achievements are visible for all to see within your very own Adventurer’s Tavern, and the highest scores for each of your heroes are ranked on the worldwide leaderboards!
  • Dungeon Defenders Development Kit - Dungeon Defenders includes a free development kit where you can create and edit new Dungeon Defenders missions and more utilizing all of the existing Dungeon Defenders assets. Download and share these user created levels via Steam Workshop for an endless Dungeon Defenders experience!

This game has provided many hours of fun for many players. It is definitely worth a look and you should plan to get all the DLC if possible. It is a tower defense game that allows you to build DPS characters to aide your towers if you want. So if you like building or just the run and gun or both, it has something for everyone. Really high end stats and items can take a little time to obtain but it is a lot of fun playing maps over and over again to get those nice items.

Note: Tinkers Lab DLC is not included in the Collection so make sure to purchase it separately.

This game is awesome. If you haven't already bought it or played it, do it. I picked it up for $5 (with all DLC, aw yeah) and I can see myself putting hundreds of hours into it. If you get stuck, you could even join the group "DDFreeRunsByRequest" to help you out and get you on your feet. What are you waiting for?

Dungeon defender is a good game. I like to play as the monk lee sin. His special tower are energy field that either deals damage over time or slow, weakens or put salts on the enemy. There are also Vayne, Veigar and Garen as playable characters. Garen is a knight that uses medieval technology to rekt his enemies. vaynes use trap and veigar uses dark gypsie magic. Overall I give this game a 10 out of 10 out of 10 because the graphic is beautiful in it's own way. The uhh, only thing that I don't like about the game is that the storyline kinda suck and it's not very rewarding. like -spoiler alert- After you kill the evil dragon alduin the heroes just look off into the distance and I was like "What the hell are they looking at? their dead mentors?" because that was the most anti climatic ends ever. But, it's redeeming quality is the gameplay and that's where it's really shine. You defend this crystal thing that you can customize from the enemies/

A damn good game to spend time with your friends. Tower defence elements match perfectly with the combat mechanics for the players in this game. Diffuculty gradualy increases the further you progress in the game and it all goes by fluently. Deffinatly reccomend if you have some spare cash lying around.

I know this guide may seem a little late, but Dungeon Defenders is still on sale quite a bit! Anyways, I bought this game last month for about £5 off of a friend (many people sell it for 2keys now!) I originally bought it because I love tower defense game, and this one was in 3D! It has a wide range of characters, a huge loot system, and an awesome tavern where your achievements are turned into all sizes of trophies! I would highly reccomend this game, even all the dlc!

Overall Summary: A 3D Co-op, tower defense game that anyone who buy this game loves!

P.S If you love achievements like me you will love this game aswell!

This is a great bang-for-the-buck game that combines tower defense and first (or third) person shooter ideas into a fun little package. Worth catching while on sale. Fun to play with friends.

The under-advertised feature of being able to do local drop-in and drop out co-op with up to four players is a GREAT feature... and one I didn't even know was possible until someone mentioned it in game. You can utilize this with both offline AND online play. It's also a great way to power-level your own characters! Have a big bad level 80+ and you want to get a different class up in level and gear quickly? Plug in a Xbox 360 or Xbox One controller, hit start, and let them idle on a hard map you've mastered a defense build for.... Maybe even slap a rubber band on the shoot button, and let the game's auto-targeting hit anything somewhat in front of your lowbie. (The game seems to auto-target assist with a control pad by default... though not with a mouse and keyboard.)

The story isn't particularly great, though it is a nice touch. Once you figure out the "trick," many of the maps are pretty easy (though figuring out the best way to utilize your limited points for building defenses is one of my favorite aspects of the game.)

Unfortunately, there are points in the game where you will likely hit a gear curve, forcing you to repetatively grind a previously beaten map on increasingly harder difficulty settings to unlock better gear. Later levels and especially the expansion can be VERY challenging on "nightmare" difficulty. Or, you can look around at other player's shops and try to find some gear to buy. (Sadly, most players GROSSLY overprice the gear in their personal shops.)

The ability to unlock and select difficulty levels for maps is a definate plus. The 6 hero types (I'm not counting the mostly the same gender "alternatives") allow for different approaches to the maps, though true master builders will learn to combine the tower / defense types to really clobber harder levels and higher difficulty settings (a small hint: BUFF BEAM).

I spent a ton of time in this game and originally caught it a long time ago for like $5. It's been one the best game purchases I've made in terms of value alone. It's a pretty fun little game to boot. Go buy it already.

I think by reading other reviews, you can already assume this is a great, addictive game.
I'm not writing this review to once more praise the game, instead, I want to take this time to write about how great Trendy Entertainment is as a company.

The team seems to be doing great now and i'm sure the atmosphere back in the studio is much better than it used to be.
That said, Trendy Entertainment is an exemplary indie company, putting their players and customers first. They care immensely about what you think of their game, their practices but first and foremost, they care about you.

I want to publicly thank Trendy Entertainment for giving my brother the Dungeon Defenders Collection, that was awfully nice of you. I know you guys worked hard, long hours and sacrificed a lot during the development. We, the community, will support you and give you back the love you deserve.

Tower Defense RPG with alot of grinding, Supported by mods you just play on online instead of ranked server, I had alot of fun with this game as it was the first game I got it holds a place in my heart. Seriously this game just has something about it, if you like looking at stats and building defenses buy this game, the 2 characters are worth it to.

I have learned from many reviews for many games that paragraphs don't get their points across because they're too long to read. So I'll make this quick.
Good character customization, strong variety of playstyles even inside the classes, and very satisfying when you beat the crap out of concert tickets lines of enemies. This game is good if you like this genre, maybe try Eternity if you're not that serious about the genre. DONT BE FOOLED BY ETERNITY's PROMISE OF DLC!! Seriously though, get this game, and you won't regret it. p.s. Wait for the sale, they come often

Amazing game, even more fun with friends. Standard TD game except your the hero and control them fighting Goblins and Orcs with help of others and Towers.Try to get the DLCS in the game cause' it makes a way more fun and opens new gameplay strategies the you couldn't do before with new uniques characters. Best DLCS would I would say is Lost Eternia Shards, Summoner Hero, EV Hero, Jester Hero, Barbarian Hero (Maybe), and Anniversary DLC one which gives you Tavern Defense that is awesome!

A very fun and compelling game played as co-op. Runs with the same blood as the Orcs Must Die series, which I like slightly more. It's a first person shooter tower defense game, that is well rounded and features RPG elements. during my time with the game I had a tremendous amount of fun. A sense of repetitiveness is felt at times, but that is part of the charm. There is a large variability on how you can play and how you can win. I highly recommend this game.

Dungeon Defenders, a good game i find myself lost in time when i play. The storyline is simple, kids parents get taken you have to rescue them. They have the storyline layed out well the controls are easy once you know them. With the dlc, the dlc adds a lot to this game but you dont need it to play, wait for a sale and get it i got the game+all the dlc for 5 bucks. Also dungeon defenders has some really nice people that play almost all my friend play even if i met them on a different game.
