Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We aim to leave Early Access with an official launch on Steam no later than before the end of Q1 2018.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The main features we have left before going out of Early Access are player housing, localization, controller support, additional races, extended world, and guild castles (to be used with guild sieges). On this of this, we would like to hear what You want added before we leave Early Access!

Screen Resolution issue on first startup

Unfortunately, we didn't fully fix the screen resolution issue on your first startup for everyone, which means when you start the game it may be on a very low resolution.

In order to fix this, hit ALT + Enter and then resize the window and then go into settings and select the desired resolution.

Patch 0.1.46

Discord Rich Presence
We have integrated Discord Rich Presence!
With this, you can let others see that you're playing Tale of Toast and your character name, character level, and what instance you're currently in.
To enable this open Discord and go into User Settings, Games and enable "Display currently running game as a status message".


Chicken Mount
The ever so alluring chicken mount have arrived to the world of Astaria! To have a chance of getting it you simply need to kill chickens. The drop chance? Not high.

Optimized house models
We have optimized the house models across the world, which should hopefully mean you get a bit higher FPS. We are working on other optimizations too though, so stay tuned!

Decreasing rubber banding
Improvements have been done to decrease rubber banding when going in/out of houses or next to fences.

  • You now need to stand still for 10 seconds before you can log out.
  • Created unique color schemes for all cloth and leather tradeskill armor sets.
  • All Tier 1 recipes are now known from the start.
  • Integrated Discord Rich Presence.
  • Created two new fishing areas where the rivers meet at Nora and Blue River Crossing.
  • Moved the old Trade Supplies vendor in Brightwyn to the square, and added two additional Trade Supplies vendors in Brightwyn.

Bugfixes
  • Sending mails will now send items based on the item slot, rather than the item id. You should no longer send the wrong item.
  • The Default resolution when starting the game for the first time is no longer 640x480, but the current resolution of your monitor.
  • The target ring for a mob will now disappear if you die, instead of being at the location where the enemy was when it died.
  • You will no longer attack another player if you have them selected and write something in chat that contains the letter "v".
  • Using Tab to switch chat channel will no longer swap your target.
  • Fixed issue where you could get stuck in game.
  • You can no longer use "Stuck" while on a flight path to get Really stuck.
  • Enemies should hopefully no longer get stuck pathfinding to the same point over and over.
  • AoE spells now work when you have a target selected.
  • You can now open trade skill window when crafting.
  • You can no longer cast multiple spells at the same time.
  • You can no longer attack yourself by first casting a heal and then hitting "V" while targetted.
  • NPCs that don't move are no longer spawned under the floor in buildings.
  • You can no longer attack guards with "V" after targetting them.
  • Florin City's walls now show up on minimap
  • The stat reset button in the stat window now works.
  • /played now shows the amount of days played again (instead of just hours and seconds).
  • You can no longer initiate a trade when the dungeon ends, as it could cause item losses.

About This Game

Tale of Toast is an open world MMORPG with core gameplay inspired by what made old school MMORPGs endlessly fun and engaging. With its easy to pick up play style, open world player versus player with high stakes for those daring to partake, and its focus on simple yet tactical combat, social aspects, trade skills, procedurally generated dungeons and quality over quantity quests, it is sure to have something for everyone.

Engaging combat with risks and rewards
Experience battles throughout the world against enemies, world bosses, players, or by taking part of large scale guild wars. Will you be a villain killing innocent players for their inventory, or will you lead a posse to protect the innocent and take out those villains?
With regard to world PvP, the various zones have different restrictions, though you can always take part in a duel or fight without risk inside the PvP Arenas.

Classes
Tired of being told what you can and cannot do with your character? In ToT, you do not choose a class for your character; you yourself decide what type of character you create. Perhaps you will make a pure melee warrior or a hybrid mage and ranger?

Trade Skills
You may take up a wide range of trade skills such as Mining, Woodcutting, Botany, Fishing, Blacksmithing, Carpentry, Leatherworking, Paring, Cooking, and Alchemy. The number of trade skills you take on is completely up to you. Will you become a generalist or focus on becoming the #1 chef on our high score list?

Dungeons
With both world dungeons that all players on the realm can enter, as well as instanced group dungeons, everyone can do their preferred dungeon. Dungeons scale to the level of the players inside, and dungeons are procedurally generated to ensure that each time you enter the same dungeon you will get a unique experience.

Quests
With high focus on quality before quantity, you will not find hundreds of quests that tells you to kill certain monsters, but instead you will find epic quest chains that unlock special features and opens locations for your character.

World
In the land of Astaria, you will find an open world taking place in a single zone with towns, capitals, forests, fields, summer areas, winter areas, desert areas, volcanoes, mines, and dungeons for you to explore in a dynamic day & night system and weather system.

Free-to-Play, but not Pay-to-win
The game is Free-to-Play, and offers micro transactions for things such as cosmetic items, pets, guild features, character renames and realm transfers. We have made a strong point to not have Pay-to-Win features in our game, so you will not be able to pay to gain an advantage over anyone else in combat.
