It's a hard running game. Also artistically beautiful.
I'm struggling to finish the last stages, it makes me angry sometimes but I'll always come back to try again.

This game makes you learn how to time your every action precisely, and the game just has a really awesome theme in general.

My only complaint is that the game is kinda short, but with the difficulty that shouldnt be a problem if you are new, even to the most hardcore gamer.

If you are into retro styled games and you love challenging games, this is the game for you.

Must buy.

BIT.TRIP RUNNER is a frustrating, repetitive title. After playing a few hours, you wouldn't be blamed for uninstalling it. Instead of focusing on skill, RUNNER leans more towards 'memorization'. You play a random pitch black thing with a white spot for eyes, as well as arms and legs. Really good character design there, instead of making an interesting character, just throw random stuff into it.

Wow...

Your character decides to run to the right, without stopping. It is up to you to control his jumping, sliding, kicking, and shield. But instead of taking skill, BIT.TRIP RUNNER decides "NO! Memorization is more fun". You die if you touch one thing, and you go back to the beginning of the level.

No checkpoints...

Let that sink in....

NO CHECKPOINTS...

I hate this game so bad, but luckly, the sequel is far better! Play the sequel, but don't play this.

Art style doesn't make up for ♥♥♥♥ty gameplay. The music and art are wonderful, but the gameplay mechanics are clunky. Music doesn't time with jumping the way it should in a game like this (so it's easier to play without music), jumping height is invariable, and if you hit anything, it sends you back to the beginning of the zone. Furthermore, before you get to start again, you have to watch a stupid animation. There are so many minor tweaks that would have made the game playable instead of leavivng the gamer irritated.

The graphics are simplistic, the music is annoying after a while, and the gameplay requires you to practice a level until your muscle memory memorized it completely. The game is like Mario without the need/possibility for directions. If this is your thing, go for it! But I'll stay well clear.

Pretty adictive, the songs that come out of each level are pretty good, making for an awesome soundtrack which you "help" to build.
