About This Game

In the dark days of the end of World War Two amidst the ruins of Berlin, one bullet can change history…

Sniper Elite V2 is an award-winning and authentic World War II sniping experience. You are elite US sniper Karl Fairburne. Parachuted into Berlin amidst the Germans’ final stand, your mission is to prevent Nazi V2 rocket program technology from falling into the hands of the besieging Red Army. You must aid key scientists keen to defect to the US, and terminate those who would help the Russians.

Take advantage of authentic weaponry, learn how to stalk your targets, fortify your position, set up the shot, use your skill, patience and cunning to achieve your mission. Stealth gameplay is the key as you find yourself trapped between two desperate armies in a race against time.

Watch as the celebrated ‘bullet cam’ from Sniper Elite returns, bloodier and more gruesome than ever – skilful shots are rewarded with a slow-motion flight of the bullet, then targets are graphically rendered in X-Ray as the bullet enters and destroys your victim. Organs shred, bones splinter, teeth shatter, as the true impact of the sniper’s bullet is brought to life.

As World War Two ends and the Cold War begins, every shot counts. Use it wisely.

Key features:

  • Sniping Simulation - Sniper Elite V2 features detailed sniping simulation with advanced ballistics, taking into account gravity, wind, velocity, bullet penetration, aim stability and more. Guaranteed to provide players with the most realistic simulation of military sharpshooting yet available.
  • X-Ray Kill Cam - Amazing ‘kill cam’ technology showcases what really happens when a bullet enters an enemy’s body, allowing players to see hearts and lungs tear, livers burst, and bones shatter.
  • Authenticity - The game features authentic World War II Berlin locations as well as vehicles, weapons such as the Springfield M1903 the Gewehr 43 and the Mosin-Nagant 1891/30, and uniforms modeled after the original versions.
  • Use the Environment - The slightest changes in the environment need to be taken into account to move into the perfect position, observe the quarry, take the shot and slip away unnoticed.
  • Sniper's Choice - Players will often find themselves facing a choice of the perfect shot that leaves them catastrophically exposed or a more difficult route that means they can continue their mission.
  • Multiplayer Game Types - Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch, Team Distance King, Distance King, Team Dogtag Harvest, Dogtag Harvest and Capture the Flag.

New Content Available For Your Game!

Since its release, Sniper Elite V2 has been continually supported by Rebellion, adding new features and content - including an additional 10 free multiplayer maps.

Four additional single-player mission packs are available for purchase, including the ultimate sniping mission - Kill Hitler. Each DLC pack also contains 2 new authentic weapons for your arsenal.

Had loads of fun with some friends on this, in both online & co-op games.
Weird movement if you're used to other FPS's, but you'll get used to it pretty quickly.

I just noticed that I have over 1,000 hours played of this game and till now i didn't make review so here it is...

... I didn't play this game in a while, but it's still amazing and it will be still amazing for me.
The graphic is great, the campaign is great, the weapons are great, the multiplayer is great and the multiplayer community is great too... I've never seen people in MP to be mean or something like that, but I have to say I've met with few cheaters but thats normal in every single game.... They're basically everywhere.

I have this game since I've created this account (it was my first game ever on Steam) and the most of my Steam friends I have thanks to this game and they all are great friends.

I personally love it for the atmosphere in single-player. And I still love kill-cams...

I did not mastered the game, so no long review there.

Multiplayer is sometimes a disadvantage because of hacks and it is too often more boring than playing chess. But you may consider playing multiplayer with friends.

Great game, stressful at times but rewarding.

Con: when enemies immediately know where you are because you missed a shot. I mean, you miss, suddenly everyone on the map knows EXACTLY where you are and manage to hit you from 100+ meters with their guns.

Still I like this game.

You play as a sniper in World War II setting. During that era, silencer for sniper rifle aren't invented yet, so to achieve stealth kills using sniper rifle, you will need to time your shot with environmental noise like bomb shells or thunder storm.

The concept is not bad, but in practise, it is very hard to achieve stealth. It is very easy to trigger alarm, and once it is triggered, the entire sector will instantly know where you are and fire at you.

You can lay traps and lure approaching enemies to it, but it is very ineffective and troublesome to setup, and some times it will still trigger alarm anyway.

So on overall, unless you are very patience, more than half of the time this game can be treated as a generic shooter, with sniper rifle as primary weapon.

But, if you are very patience, and like to play it correctly as a stealth game where you carefully plan your route, and scout the area, this game might really suit your taste.

The graphics are not bad. Kill cams are awesome! For some time. It gets dull and repetitive very soon. The plot is not bad.

The entire campaign can be played in coop.

Review for DLCs

Each DLC adds one extra mission, all are in one single giant map. These DLC missions can only be played in single player.

Story and setting-wise, they are quite okay. Pricing is okay too as a DLC, so get them if you liked the game.

For Achievement Hunters

The following DLCs are required for 100% completion.

Most of the achievements are quite doable. But some of the harder ones require some luck, and a huge lot of patience.

My score: 7/10

It could have been so good, just let down so much by the AI.
Having an enemy see you through walls even if you make no noise is just not fun to me.

To be honest, Sniper Elite V2 isn't bad as stated by the reviews. Sure the game can be arcadey at times, but it's still enjoyable to play.

If you play the campaign on normal, it can maybe be finished in 5.8 hours depending if you are good at the game or rush through the missions (it has 11 missions).

The arcade feel would be best described in which the whole game is all crouch based movement. If you try to run, the enemy can hear you miles away. You have you stay crouched or else you will be heard (this is kinda stupid in my opinion). If Snipers are looking the other way, they immediately look towards you and shoot you. If there is a tank, they whip their barrel around in 1 millisecond starring right at you (which is not normal for real tanks) and they will mostly shoot at you in at first glance. But once you get a 2 kill one shot (collateral kill) bullet cam, get a grenade bullet cam (where you shoot a grenade on the guy's body and the guy explodes), or even timing your sniper shot to a background explosion to kill a enemy in silence is really satisfying. A small annoyance with the game is the looting. Sometimes your character will loot a weapon which you don't want him to pick up, you only just want the ammo.

Other than that, the game is fine to play, the game runs great, the graphics are decent and I guess anyone who likes this type of stealth style game will like it.

Sniper Elite V2 is a masterpiece. The story is fantastic, posing as a millitary sniper in the previous wars was fantastic. The graphics were amazing even for a 2012 game. The AI is a little bit stupid at times but that's the funniest part about them. The controls were easy to understand for both controller and keyboard and mouse since I liked using both. Some of the reviewers complained about constantly being in a fight and the bullet camera getting dull. It's a millitary sniper game, being in a fight is the main part of this great game. And there is an option to change the bullet camera chance. But I find it amazing, seeing those enemies being crushed by my bullet. I bought this on the xbox 360 and got it free on PC. Absolutley worth all of the money. But it's better when you have a friend. Trolling them by killing their targets is very funny. Greatest sniper series ever.

They recently updated this game, so now it has a launcher with ads in it, and crashes at startup. Exactly what I paid for.
