About This Game

In the dark days of the end of World War Two amidst the ruins of Berlin, one bullet can change history…

Sniper Elite V2 is an award-winning and authentic World War II sniping experience. You are elite US sniper Karl Fairburne. Parachuted into Berlin amidst the Germans’ final stand, your mission is to prevent Nazi V2 rocket program technology from falling into the hands of the besieging Red Army. You must aid key scientists keen to defect to the US, and terminate those who would help the Russians.

Take advantage of authentic weaponry, learn how to stalk your targets, fortify your position, set up the shot, use your skill, patience and cunning to achieve your mission. Stealth gameplay is the key as you find yourself trapped between two desperate armies in a race against time.

Watch as the celebrated ‘bullet cam’ from Sniper Elite returns, bloodier and more gruesome than ever – skilful shots are rewarded with a slow-motion flight of the bullet, then targets are graphically rendered in X-Ray as the bullet enters and destroys your victim. Organs shred, bones splinter, teeth shatter, as the true impact of the sniper’s bullet is brought to life.

As World War Two ends and the Cold War begins, every shot counts. Use it wisely.

Key features:

  • Sniping Simulation - Sniper Elite V2 features detailed sniping simulation with advanced ballistics, taking into account gravity, wind, velocity, bullet penetration, aim stability and more. Guaranteed to provide players with the most realistic simulation of military sharpshooting yet available.
  • X-Ray Kill Cam - Amazing ‘kill cam’ technology showcases what really happens when a bullet enters an enemy’s body, allowing players to see hearts and lungs tear, livers burst, and bones shatter.
  • Authenticity - The game features authentic World War II Berlin locations as well as vehicles, weapons such as the Springfield M1903 the Gewehr 43 and the Mosin-Nagant 1891/30, and uniforms modeled after the original versions.
  • Use the Environment - The slightest changes in the environment need to be taken into account to move into the perfect position, observe the quarry, take the shot and slip away unnoticed.
  • Sniper's Choice - Players will often find themselves facing a choice of the perfect shot that leaves them catastrophically exposed or a more difficult route that means they can continue their mission.
  • Multiplayer Game Types - Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch, Team Distance King, Distance King, Team Dogtag Harvest, Dogtag Harvest and Capture the Flag.

New Content Available For Your Game!

Since its release, Sniper Elite V2 has been continually supported by Rebellion, adding new features and content - including an additional 10 free multiplayer maps.

Four additional single-player mission packs are available for purchase, including the ultimate sniping mission - Kill Hitler. Each DLC pack also contains 2 new authentic weapons for your arsenal.

this plays more akin to Call of duty than a sniper game. if you are looking for a sneaking sniper ghost type gameplay DON'T GET THIS GAME.

you can sneak up on some enemies, but enemy snipers spot you out instantly alerting everyone around you. and it's one of those " if one guy spots you, everyone on the level knows where you are and are on alert." You'd get lucky to get 2 or 3 enemies before the whole area is aware of your presents, then it's a firefight, rinse and repeat for every checkpoint.

Then it's pretty much a firefight everytime except you have a sniper rifle. really disppointing you can't ghost through a level

as you progress through the game it just gets more and more Call of Duty-ee: firefights/cutscene.
Gameplay is 50/50 sniping from vantage points and sniping from ground level, regen health

ultimately the game doesn't really give you any incentives to be stealthy, I started off trying to ghost through it, but towards the end I was Call-of-Duty-ing.

it's a meh game with cool gimmicks, but once those gimmicks wear off, all you have is meh.

SE V2: Great visual effects.

When I play a shooter game, I usually take the sniper because I like to take my time when I end people's lives. So this game was the perfect match for me.

The story takes place during the WW2, and I liked making my way in the ruins, killing nazis one bullet at a time. One of the biggest particularity of this game is it's brilliant and beautiful slow-motion effect following your bullet and seeing the damages it makes at your enemies with a X-ray style. (Aim for the balls :D !) That was the first setting I took to it's max : you can choose the frequency of it so if you don't like it, not every lethal bullet is in slow-mo.

Moreover, I greatly appreciated the look of this game. Color sheme is fine, motion blur, the glare.. Just not convinced of the ambiant occlusion sometimes, but nothing inconvenient.

I appreciated this game all the way, so if you like the sniper class as much as me, don't hesitate, that's the game you're looking for.

A disappointment, stick with the nazi zombie trilogy as it's the best they've made and I highly recommend it.

I got this game for free about a year ago but I had already completed this game on the 360 twice back when it first came out so I didnt install it until recently. Scroll to the bottom if you're lazy and want the verdict.

Firs of all this game is optimized VERY well. My avergae FPS is in the 100's, I ran the benchmark and the minimum only dropped down to 77 fps although I have witnessed no drops during gameplay, it's a steady 100+, this is on ultra as well. The game runs more smoothly than melted butter running down a plate coated in vaseline (yes, that smooth). Graphics are really good and the environments are beautiful, especially building interiors. War torn Germany sure is a looker.

But the most important thing about this game is the sniping. It's great and It works and everytime you get that x-ray killcam and see someones heart or eye explode (or even some poor soldiers testicles) you always feel like a badass and inside you feel a weird sense of joy. Depending on how realsistic you want sniping to be you can change various settings to cater to your sniping playstlye. Sometime I even may reload a checkpoint just to snipe some more enemy soldiers and see that x-ray killcam. In short the sniping is great and it's fun, I cant think of any negatives about it.

A MAJOR problem with this game though.....is the awful close quarter combat that the game forces you into sometimes (YES second mission I'm mainly talking about you). Eveyone is different though, some may like the close quarter combat in this game (I would have no clue why though). I hate it. You start off with 3 weapons. A pistol of which you can choose from a welrod, m1911 or a luger. A submachine gun of which you choose from a Thompson, mp40 or ppsh. and of course your sniper, springfield, mosin or that German rifle that has a name that I cant spell properly (Gewher? Gewhere?). The submachine guns are like pea shooters, they have no impact. What. So. Ever. It takes about 15 rounds from a submachine gun to down an enemy, not so bad right? YES it is bad, considering you get 30. THIRTY rounds ONLY for your submachine gun????? no extra mags. Thirty rounds. Yes, you can find ammo but it's honestly pointless considering you find barely any ammo for your guns except for the snipers, its like the game wnats you to fight close quarters but also still wants you to be a sniper, wtf? Instead of fighting with your submachine gun or pistol in a close quarter fight, you end up using the sniper. Thats right, you use a sniper. You hide in cover, quickly pop out and shoot 1 enemy at a time, thats how close quarter fights go down in this game and it honestly gets frustrating having to shoot enemies with a rifle when there are 10+ spraying you with automatic arms fire, it takes away the fun from the game, especially when your forced into these fights. The close quarter combat is just bad. Bad execution Rebellion.

Stealth is ok I guess, it's nothing special. Just your run of the mill stealth.

Story. I honestly dont remember anything about it other than the fact you have to assassinate some German guy here, save someone here and you have stop the Russians from getting their red hands on V2 Rockets by means of killing them (I personally think having to kill the Russians is stupid but whatever). The story is just very generic and overall, weak. You wont care for the protaganist, Karl, either. Nothing much is said about him and the only thing I remember of him is that he's in the OSS and his voice is a bizzare mix of a monotonous white persons voice and a 1970's african american disco dancer who has an afro and wears flares.

Multiplayer is, as of now, a ghost town. Last time I checked it 12 people were online.

Regardless of the bad aspects of Sniper Elite, the game hits it out of the park with its sniping, and thats what keeps me playing the game. I definitley do recommend this game, especially if you like ww2 sniper shooters. Would I pay $35 for this game though? probably not, but I would buy it during a sale.

In short: Brilliant sniping game, poor 3rd person shooting game. 7/10.

I would like to add that I did prefer this game over Sniper Elite 3 and that if you're want a sniper game, you should buy this one or wait for Sniper Elite 4.

I just noticed that I have over 1,000 hours played of this game and till now i didn't make review so here it is...

... I didn't play this game in a while, but it's still amazing and it will be still amazing for me.
The graphic is great, the campaign is great, the weapons are great, the multiplayer is great and the multiplayer community is great too... I've never seen people in MP to be mean or something like that, but I have to say I've met with few cheaters but thats normal in every single game.... They're basically everywhere.

I have this game since I've created this account (it was my first game ever on Steam) and the most of my Steam friends I have thanks to this game and they all are great friends.

10/10

I personally love it for the atmosphere in single-player. And I still love kill-cams...

I did not mastered the game, so no long review there.

Multiplayer is sometimes a disadvantage because of hacks and it is too often more boring than playing chess. But you may consider playing multiplayer with friends.

The plot is painfully stupid. Game teaches you that backstabbing your allies is okay even if they already have a rocket technology (BM-13). The AI is stupid, music is awful and maps are just boring brown corridors.

They recently updated this game, so now it has a launcher with ads in it, and crashes at startup. Exactly what I paid for.
