About This Game

In the dark days of the end of World War Two amidst the ruins of Berlin, one bullet can change history…

Sniper Elite V2 is an award-winning and authentic World War II sniping experience. You are elite US sniper Karl Fairburne. Parachuted into Berlin amidst the Germans’ final stand, your mission is to prevent Nazi V2 rocket program technology from falling into the hands of the besieging Red Army. You must aid key scientists keen to defect to the US, and terminate those who would help the Russians.

Take advantage of authentic weaponry, learn how to stalk your targets, fortify your position, set up the shot, use your skill, patience and cunning to achieve your mission. Stealth gameplay is the key as you find yourself trapped between two desperate armies in a race against time.

Watch as the celebrated ‘bullet cam’ from Sniper Elite returns, bloodier and more gruesome than ever – skilful shots are rewarded with a slow-motion flight of the bullet, then targets are graphically rendered in X-Ray as the bullet enters and destroys your victim. Organs shred, bones splinter, teeth shatter, as the true impact of the sniper’s bullet is brought to life.

As World War Two ends and the Cold War begins, every shot counts. Use it wisely.

Key features:

  • Sniping Simulation - Sniper Elite V2 features detailed sniping simulation with advanced ballistics, taking into account gravity, wind, velocity, bullet penetration, aim stability and more. Guaranteed to provide players with the most realistic simulation of military sharpshooting yet available.
  • X-Ray Kill Cam - Amazing ‘kill cam’ technology showcases what really happens when a bullet enters an enemy’s body, allowing players to see hearts and lungs tear, livers burst, and bones shatter.
  • Authenticity - The game features authentic World War II Berlin locations as well as vehicles, weapons such as the Springfield M1903 the Gewehr 43 and the Mosin-Nagant 1891/30, and uniforms modeled after the original versions.
  • Use the Environment - The slightest changes in the environment need to be taken into account to move into the perfect position, observe the quarry, take the shot and slip away unnoticed.
  • Sniper's Choice - Players will often find themselves facing a choice of the perfect shot that leaves them catastrophically exposed or a more difficult route that means they can continue their mission.
  • Multiplayer Game Types - Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch, Team Distance King, Distance King, Team Dogtag Harvest, Dogtag Harvest and Capture the Flag.

New Content Available For Your Game!

Since its release, Sniper Elite V2 has been continually supported by Rebellion, adding new features and content - including an additional 10 free multiplayer maps.

Four additional single-player mission packs are available for purchase, including the ultimate sniping mission - Kill Hitler. Each DLC pack also contains 2 new authentic weapons for your arsenal.

10/10 Sniper simulator with a slow motion kill cam but if you look at the main missions, gameplay starts boring you after a 2-3 hours later. Because every mission similar to one mission before. Hide, Shoot, Done the Task and go to the next mission. Sniper dynamics very good and killing people with a sniper very fun. Best sniper game franchise ever.

Great graphics, realistic, plausible and credible story lines. The plot is not some dumb writer's idea for a easy paycheck. This is one of those plots that if it actually did happen, you'd want to meet the men who took on these types of missions and to this day they would not be declassified. Weapons are of the period, the user is responsible for what happens. If I miss I can't blame the rifle, pistol, or anything else. It's all on me.

Awesome and fun is the best way to describe this one. I did find myself missing the hardcore nature of the first one at times but what are you gonna do.

You play as a sniper in World War II setting. During that era, silencer for sniper rifle aren't invented yet, so to achieve stealth kills using sniper rifle, you will need to time your shot with environmental noise like bomb shells or thunder storm.

The concept is not bad, but in practise, it is very hard to achieve stealth. It is very easy to trigger alarm, and once it is triggered, the entire sector will instantly know where you are and fire at you.

You can lay traps and lure approaching enemies to it, but it is very ineffective and troublesome to setup, and some times it will still trigger alarm anyway.

So on overall, unless you are very patience, more than half of the time this game can be treated as a generic shooter, with sniper rifle as primary weapon.

But, if you are very patience, and like to play it correctly as a stealth game where you carefully plan your route, and scout the area, this game might really suit your taste.

The graphics are not bad. Kill cams are awesome! For some time. It gets dull and repetitive very soon. The plot is not bad.

The entire campaign can be played in coop.

Review for DLCs

Each DLC adds one extra mission, all are in one single giant map. These DLC missions can only be played in single player.

Story and setting-wise, they are quite okay. Pricing is okay too as a DLC, so get them if you liked the game.

For Achievement Hunters

The following DLCs are required for 100% completion.

Most of the achievements are quite doable. But some of the harder ones require some luck, and a huge lot of patience.

My score: 7/10

To be honest, Sniper Elite V2 isn't bad as stated by the reviews. Sure the game can be arcadey at times, but it's still enjoyable to play.

If you play the campaign on normal, it can maybe be finished in 5.8 hours depending if you are good at the game or rush through the missions (it has 11 missions).

The arcade feel would be best described in which the whole game is all crouch based movement. If you try to run, the enemy can hear you miles away. You have you stay crouched or else you will be heard (this is kinda stupid in my opinion). If Snipers are looking the other way, they immediately look towards you and shoot you. If there is a tank, they whip their barrel around in 1 millisecond starring right at you (which is not normal for real tanks) and they will mostly shoot at you in at first glance. But once you get a 2 kill one shot (collateral kill) bullet cam, get a grenade bullet cam (where you shoot a grenade on the guy's body and the guy explodes), or even timing your sniper shot to a background explosion to kill a enemy in silence is really satisfying. A small annoyance with the game is the looting. Sometimes your character will loot a weapon which you don't want him to pick up, you only just want the ammo.

Other than that, the game is fine to play, the game runs great, the graphics are decent and I guess anyone who likes this type of stealth style game will like it.

Here's why i cannot recommend this game:
*Campaign missions lack diversity. Every mission feels the same
*Bullet cam gets really repetitive really quickly
*Although there were a few occasions where it was possible for background noises to cover up sniper shots, most of the time the only way taking down enemies quietly was by using a handgun called Welrod.
*Using weapons other than Welrod results most likely in completely blowing your cover.
*AI is awful: poor dialogues/monologues, dumb movement (why would they run out of cover when they now they are being pinned down by a sniper?)
*Enemy seems to have either aimbot/wallhax or both.
*Level design is just so bad. I felt forced to just go down one given path.
*Game mechanics (tripmines, mines, dynamite etc) are useless most of the time. It is really frustrating when i am at the other side of the map from where a soldier dies from my planted mine and suddenly everyone knows my exact location and knows that a sniper has planted the mine (from their monologues)
I could go on... these are just few major cons.
Multiplayer was not the best but it was at least playable.
Overall the only thing working decently was the uninstall button.

If I were to ask you to design a sniper game would you:

a) make a large open-level style game focusing on stealth and relocation, where you are vulnerable to overwhelming odds and need to exhibit stealth and patience above all, as well as expertise with a sniper rifle?

Or b) a corridor shooter with terrible controls and animation, lack of satisfying sniper opportunities, tons of forced dumb stealth takedowns using either a terrible welrod, single shot, silenced pistol or "press button" to kill mechanics because you've misunderstood the role of a sniper in a battlefield so completely that you've mistaken them for SAS rambo style one-man armies?

If you chose B) you should go work for this developer. No seriously, the second level in the game has you single-handedly assault a V2 rocket installation, where you have to navigate corridors armed with a Welrod, Thompson and a sniper rifle. The majority of the level takes place underground (ie corridors). I made it past this level, but was so put off by it that I couldn't stomach playing further. I've tried restarting this game mulitple times, I gave it lots of chances, but its renews my disappointment each time.

Avoid this game if you're a WW2 fan or just a sniper fan in general.

Sniper Elite V2's main selling point is the grusome x-ray vision that the player sees when they shoot certain parts of the body. And that is basically it.

My main complaint was the extremely poor programmed AI. The logic written for the enemies do not make sense at all; they do not react like soldiers being shot at by a sniper hiding away in some window hundreds of metres away. They spot you immediately and lay precise fire on your exact position which I found to be extremely annoying.

Once I was sneaking up a unexpecting German soldier from high up. He was maybe 50 metres away, got ready to pull the trigger and send the bullet into the back of his skull, but suddenly he does a 360 and starts firing at my exact position.

Games such as MGSV make you feel more like a Sniper while this game made me feel I was quickscoping in MW2 again.

5/10 would not buy unless it had a big discount.

In my opinion, a sniper game should challenge the player, except for shooting, observation and patience. But this game feels more like a hunted house, the enemy would just teleport in and try to scare you, and you can kill them by your longer hp bar and superman-like health regeneration.
Actually I quiet like the bullet time design, that is the only reason I play this game to the end. But I wouldn't recommend this game as a good sniper game.

The arcade game
Get shot by a MG34 from a Tiger and survive a hail of 7.92mm bullets!
Duel with Germans, close range with a tommy gun in a shot em' up way.
Be the sniper, except you aren't!
Listen to your computer as it dies trying to struggle with the Unreal Engine.
All this in a ww2 environment!

I don't understand why people recommend this game, but I guess this review will tell as it will be down rated because there are actually those who like this joke of a game...
For everyone else, steer clear of this!

Sniper Elite V2

Story - Interesting, full of action, has awesome moments! 9/10

Storyline Length - Should take you a couple hours. It isn't that long of a game.

AI - Quite stupid on easier difficulties, but on Sniper Elite difficulty, they will hunt you down. They'll use grenades, be accurate with their bullets, even try to surround you. 8/10

Experience - Singleplayer campaign is cool, you can replay it a couple times and still not get bored, the coop is brilliant, but the multiplayer can go burn in hell. Honestly, I expected a stealthy game where you get in, do the objective, get out. But NOOOOOOoooooOOOOOO, you can't finish an entire mission in stealth. Still pretty awesome! 8.5/10

Graphics - Quite realistic, there's a lot of detail in nearly everything on high graphics. 9/10

Sounds / Voice Acting - Gunshots, explosions, Nazis shouting at you to "Show yourself, dog!", reloading sounds, it's all just really beautiful. 10/10

Controls - Easy to learn, a bit too easy to learn. Great tutorial, I'd say! 10/10

Overall - 9/10

It's a fun WW2 Sniper game, you've got enemies around every corner, you've got targets to kill (obviously), you've got ♥♥♥♥ to explode, you've got the absolute awesome experience of being a sniper. If you haven't played this game, then atleast try out the demo. It's super fun! Forgot to mention, when you get a vital shot on an enemy, it shows you this X-Ray killcam, a bit like Mortal Kombat's X-Ray thingy. I'm not a psychopath but this is the only reason why I have 222 hours in this game.

(The DLC is cool too, you get to kill Hitler >:3 )
