Patch 1.2: More Image Viewing Options

I've been able to significantly expand the number of ways you can view images. In addition to viewing them one at a time, you can view all the images in a folder arranged as a row or a column, and can immediately switch between these options by selecting the appropriate buttons (aim the controller and pull the trigger) while File Mode is active.

You can also choose whether to keep image sizes relative to each other (so if one image is half as large as another, it will always show up accordingly) or resize the images so that they have either the same width or the same height. These options can also be changed around in File Mode.

Lastly, I fit in the ability to press a button to move the image or video back to the default position, and also added some buttons while viewing videos to control whether videos will loop or stop when they reach the end.

Enjoy!

Patch 1.1: Gif Support Added

New update: I've found a way to get Unity to load Gif images, so now whenever you load a gallery containing .gif images, you will be able to view them just like other images, and they will play properly.

The next update should expand the available image-viewing options.

About This Software

MovingPictures enables viewing of videos and galleries of (.png, .jpg, and .gif) images using the Vive VR headset. Using one or both controllers, you can load videos and images from your computer, then freely move them around and resize them in the VR space in front of you. If at any point you forget the controls, you can simply turn around to see them mapped out on the Vive controller.

For videos, you can fast-forward and rewind, select a specific time in the video, choose whether the video repeats after reaching the end, and adjust the volume. For images, you can switch from image to image to view all the images in the opened folder in-order. Images can be viewed one-at-a-time, as a row of all images in the folder, or as a column of those images. The images can keep their relative proportions, or be resized to have either the same width or the same height.
