Achievements and more!

It's time to make an update!

What's new?
As you could notice some time ago there is achievement information appeared on Base Defense page in your Steam Game Library. Still you couldn't get any achievement progress and this is because of the system testing. This update brings you an ability to start earning the achievements!

Pretty good, huh?
There is also appears a new map, which takes you to the Winter Town.

Change log
  • Added new flags for spawn spots "No flying monsters", "Except boss wave"
  • Added a new map "Winter Town" (pve_wintertown)
  • Added achievements system (based on Steam Achievements)

  • Turned on SDL2 mouse/joystick input handling (this should be a fix for mouse issues)

  • Increased framerate for VGUI

  • Fixed wrong mana cost for Offense aura when Bosses are nearby
  • Fixed Gargantua stomp damaging other aliens

  • Removed in-game event "Festive Winter"

Happy Holidays!

Hello everyone!
I wish you the best and I want to give you a little gift: an update for my mod.

In-game event «Festive Winter»
You are able to take part in the game event called "Festive Winter". All bosses in game now will drop you a present if you deal more than 25% damage to them. Those presents are dropping for a specific player, so the other players can't pick it up, unless it's more than 3 minutes have passed since the present was dropped. Your goal is to collect 25 presents to get a top reward, you can check your progress in updated task menu (default key is "V").

Changes in checkpoint system
The other main change is saving your character mechanism, now your characters are saved by your SteamID and they are bound to it, this will make your character saves more secure. Unfortunately, it had its own cost: save data compatibility with previous version was lost. On the other side I made some changes in game balance, so now it will be more interesting, challenging and fair.

  • Added weather effects (new env_fog, env_weather entities)

  • Fixed Sniper Rifle autozooming speed issues

  • Fixed Frenzy damage reset after 2 seconds
  • Fixed spectator panel current map and timer positions
  • Fixed some unsafe pointer calls (improved server stability)
  • Fixed a moment high level character could load in 1st wave game
  • Fixed wrong salvage reward amounts in weapon recycle GUI
  • Fixed crazy damage of Angel's mighty foot and Offense aura for bosses
  • Fixed cloak menu appearing after reconnect
  • Fixed wrong price counting for weapon box
  • Fixed faulty hit detection for turrets and angels
  • Fixed upgrading 4th power (it didn't update souls amount for client)
  • Fixed server restarting on leaving when the game isn't begin yet
  • Fixed axe secondary attack wasn't affected by axe upgrades

  • Changed titles in scoreboard (wave state and server name are separate now)
  • Changed reloading mechanics for Shotgun (you can stop it by pressing fire)
  • Changed all prices in Demon shop
  • Changed prices of some weapons
  • Changed behaviour of gates (they won't kill anyone now)
  • Changed high grade weapon chances (in random weapon box)
  • Changed limits for bags (now it's not 15 for all of types, but 5 per one type)
  • Changed ammo bag using mechanics (you can use ammo bag only twice per wave)
  • Changed money and xp rewarding mechanics (now they are based on damage done)
  • Changed soul farming mechanics (now player gets a soul for killing a boss, random drop also remains)
  • Changed ignited monsters damage to 3% of their maximum HP
  • Changed task menu to show event status there
  • Changed task rewards (increased a little)
  • Changed axe damage (swing damage is decreased, cleave damage is increased)

  • Removed start fire animation for Pantagruel

About This Game

Base Defense is a co-op modification for Half-Life based on horde-style and RPG systems. You're able to choose one of three classes, then join the fight against most dangerous monsters which are hunting you. Every class has its own abilities and traits. You can become a killing machine or a strong support for your teammates. In game you can get different items with magic powers: helmets, armor and trinkets. As you kill monsters you will get experience points and level ups. Difficulty of the game grows exponentially as you progress, don't forget to upgrade your stats. There are checkpoints every 10 waves, so you won't lose your character and loot.

Make your own epic character build and experience the most challenging battles!
