Why Early Access?

Knightfall is developed by one person, live on Twitch, with the feedback and support from the game development community. The game is currently playable. Early Access will allow us to continue to build a community and use your feedback to improve on the content. The community has been and will continue to be instrumental in shaping Knightfall into what it is today. We hope that Knightfall can only improve in quality as we work through Early Access. This is illustrated by development sessions on Twitch. Anyone is welcome to join in on a live broadcast or watch an archived video of a previous stream!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“As we continue to progress and improve the quality of Knightfall through Early Access, it will be closer to our intended outlook for the game. We’re expecting around a 3-6 month Early Access phase before we move into a full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Knightfall will have at least 5 floors of hand-to-hand combat, traps, loot, and much more! There will also be a fully voiced optional questline and introduction. We’re hoping that as we continue through Early Access that we can add as much quality content as possible for everyone.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

Knightfall is currently in a fully playable state. Being in early access, focus was put mainly on the first floor, which is very close to completion. We plan on pushing updates as frequently as possible, but nonetheless the game is in a representative state for the quality we aim to achieve. The combat, movement, loot, equipping, and discarding are more or less in a final state.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

Knightfall will have the same base price throughout Early Access and afterward into full release. The price will not rise after Early Access is over.”

BUGFIX: Fixed a bug where the game shows a black screen if you continue from a save in main menu after dying.

BUGFIX: Fixed grammar errors in some of the quest text in journal.

BUGFIX: Chests that spawns keys are fixed.

BUGFIX: Silver key's animation looks less sporadic and awkward.

BUGFIX: Fixed a bug that caused certain sealed doors to appear open but still impassable.

BUGFIX: Stamina potions no longer heal your HP.

About This Game

Knightfall is a 2D fully top-down retro pixel art dungeon RPG. Knightfall focuses on a reduced vision mechanic that forces you to be reactive based on your surroundings. You'll have to utilize your knowledge of the floor's layout to your advantage. How far down did you end up and will you ever get to the surface?

Story

Armed with a sword and shield, your squadron crumbles under heavy arrow fire. How far did you fall? Will you ever reach the surface or will this dungeon be your tomb, like so many others who have fallen before?
