Why Early Access?

“Being a Indie Developer means we can listen directly to players and implement changes to the game on a fast pace to keep up with our community. Utilizing the community in that way, insures we develop the best game we possibly can. As Arcfall is a very social game, this is a very important feature of early access.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to have Arcfall in early access for the better part of this year, as we flesh out what is expected of it from our community and hope to reach Beta by late 2017. That being said, it will depend on what feedback we get and how much needs to be changed, including bugs and polish, so this time frame might vary.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The size of the world will be much bigger. Additionally there will be a lot more housing space and player-owned islands. As we get more feedback about different skills and crafting, a much wider range of things will be available to increase the variety of combat and character stats.There will also be periodic data wipes and large balance changes. As this is a skill based game, all skills will have a healthy amount of abilities to complement them. Most important is we will have fishing in it!!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Arcfall is currently in pre-Alpha. There is still a LOT of work to be done, and will be under construction for some time. Which means it might not feel like a finished game to you, the design hasn't been balanced, performance hasn't been optimized, lots of bugs to fix, etc. Joining now means participating in the development, while playing the game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The pricing on the game might change dependent on the amount of content we add. As this is the first version, it will include all the base content. As we plan to sell different DLC's, which will open up different races and continents, we don't intend to increase it much.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will be in constant dialogue with our community through Steam forums as well as our own forums. Every month we will be doing short surveys on the forums to pinpoint changes the community wants; after which we would place those changes in the development pipeline that's voted up. Being an indie development company and in early access, it makes it much easier to work alongside the community.”

Arcfall Patch Pre-Alpha v0.8

This is Pre-Alpha V0.8 . In this version we wanted to fix a bunch of bugs so content increase is very limited. We where planing to implement the first Bosses but unfortunately ran into a major bug with it just before we where going to do this update so they will be in next update in two weeks.

Bugs Fixed:

- Chat box scrolls to the bottom now when a new message is received.
- Tab targeting will now only target enemies, you use the click on portrait to select group members.
- All other places where rich text can be used is removed.
- When deleting a claim and you press cancel it wont still be delete the claim anymore.
- When you click the pickup button on a house it will as conformation now if you still want to pick it up.
- Placing a item in your claim and mousing over bag to select another item wont place the first item down but switch it.
- Certain Mobs use to run stop in animation when they run to you, that is fixed now so they run smoother.
- Item Requirements added to tooltips.
- Tax deeds will now add the correct amount of time when added to a plot.
- You will now only be allowed to add one tax deed at a time and have to wait till that deeds time has run out before you can add another one. The remaining time before the deed slot is open again will be half of the deeds time so you can slowly build up time on a plot and is displayed at the bottom of the deed.
- Items used that's in the action bar will display the right amount now and be removed when you don't have any more in your bag.
- You wont be able to equip a weapon anymore if it has no more durability.
- Durability will now also be displayed in tooltip in a number format.
- Weapon base damage amount will now be displayed in tooltip along with what type of damage it does.

New:

- Have a craft all button now to craft multiple items at a time instead of clicking craft every time.

Balancing:

- Changed pricing on Deeds and house blueprints.

Arcfall Patch Pre-Alpha v0.7

With this update we added our first new feature in, fishing. As its one of the harder things to add in and also because we had to add allot more items in to work with fishing this is one of our biggest updates so far.

Bugs Fixed:

- Chat box does not allow color changing text or size changing any more.
- Founders horses has a casting time now.
- After selling/deleting claim permissions will now be removed.
- Animation transition when running while picking up resource faster now and smooth.
- Cant send money or items through mail as what you are planning to trade at the same time.
- When deleting a claim permissions are deleted as well.
- Cant use abilities commands through chat window if you are not allowed to.

New:

- Stone Porch house added.
- Fishing system added
- New resource drops added: Bones, Poisonous Blood
- New Recipes added:6 furniture recipes, 1 weapon recipe, 8 crafting recipes, 3 cooking recipe.
- Iron and Bronze Elemental added
- 30 new different items added in total.

Balancing:

- All armor has now stat requirements to be worn.
- Resource drops changed on Forest giants, Skeletons and Spiders.

In a Massively Multiplayer World where you can fight, craft, explore and live, Arcfall offers a game style that captures old school RPG games with modern quality. Emerge yourself in a world where you can craft your own weapons and armor. Own your own house and fill it with furniture that enhances your character. Hire merchants to sell your goods to other players making Arcfall a pure player driven economy.

Being a pure skilled based game, every action you make adds to the growth of your character. Expand your network to include friends in your own guild and raid others in the PvP zones to gain their riches or steal from their homes. Be warned when you kill someone and it is not outside of the King's Reign, you might get branded a murderer and hunted by all.

Sail across the world on your own warship and take on pirates on the open seas, or export goods to other towns and sell them at a profit. With so many different things a player can do, you can shape your character and game play to the way you want it, the end game is just the start of your adventures. As this is early access some features are rather planed for later than sooner as we gather more feedback from players.
