Early Access Update #2 - Four New Items!

V0.2.1 is now ready for download!

This update adds some new items for the humans adding some mobility, damage and protection to fend off the animals.



Early Access #2 Patch Notes

Gameplay
  • Added four new items:
    • Grappling Hook - Great for covering long distances quickly
    • Shotgun - Short range blast weapon for quickly killing large targets
    • Riot Shield - Blocks attacks and knocks enemies back
    • Body Armor - Blocks up to 5 attacks, then breaks
  • Improved Melee weapon hitboxes
  • Animal Outlines added to Brawl
  • Armory Added!

Animal
  • Eagle:
    • Reduced flight speed once a wing is lost
    • Reduced dash speed
    • Can no longer use abilities once wings are both lost
  • Lion Coming Soon!

Plan for next update

Over the next few weeks, we intend to overhaul some of the main mechanics regarding animal and human movement to make gameplay more fluid and consistent. We feel that this area is one that needs serious attention and we will be looking forward to your feedback on this.

V0.1.1 is now ready for download!

Happy Fourth Of July!

With this update we will be bringing out three new weapons, two new animals, bug fixes, and new features to make the game run more smoothly.

Early Access Update #1 Patch Notes

Gameplay
  • Main mode music track added!
  • Added a timer to Quickplay Mode, and as an option for classic and custom modes
  • Three new items added: American Flag, Flashlight, and Hot Dogs
  • Animal camera has been improved to jitter less
  • Lights will automatcially come on when it reaches night in Animal Brawl
  • Nighttime brightness has been increased
  • Limbs have been balanced to require one item hit or animal ability to be knocked off, or two punches/basic attacks.
Animals
  • 2 New Animals! Welcome the Elephant and Eagle to the Zoo!
  • Kangaroo can no longer jump off of multiple joeys
  • Kangaroo can now walk slowly
  • Ostrich and Kangaroo basic attack speeds are now slower
Bugs
  • Animals should no longer get stuck/slowed on stairs
  • Removed a bug that allowed Kangaroo to use his ears to fly across the map
  • Fixed humans being able to fly across the map in the sky with the chainsaw
  • Fixed issue with Ostrich jumping off his eggs in mid flight
  • Fixed spectate glitch that let the spectate camera appear even though you were controlling the animal
Menu
  • Added Gameplay Hints in the Main Menu
  • Added the option to change movement controls
  • Fireworks have been added to the main menu in celebration of the Fourth of July!

Zooicide is a casual team-based multiplayer game featuring animals fighting against humans within a playfully dangerous environment, the zoo.

Current Features

  • Physics based animation to provide some of the most realistic animal movement modern gaming has to offer!

  • Over 20 different items available to fight your way out, such as axes, RPGs and claymores!

Gameplay

There are currently two game modes of Zooicide.

The main mode features a team of animals fighting against a team of humans. The humans must face the dangerous, enraged animals with a collection of different items to be able to escape this nightmare.

The second mode, Animal Brawl, features a free-for-all death match of up to 8 different animals fighting against each other.
