What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“PC Building Simulator is nearly feature complete however the process of creating accurate models of real hardware and implementing them into the game is a long one. We currently have a wide range of hardware we still need to integrate into the game so we plan to use Early Access to continue to expand the range of playable hardware while also incorporating any feedback from the community on existing features of the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are looking to have a short period in Early Access, around 2-3 months depending on feedback from the community.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access we will be adding a few more features, but mostly it will be about adding more hardware to build with, our shortlist of things to add before we exit Early Access is:

  • Water Cooling
  • Overclocking
  • More licensed components
  • Fully localised into select languages (exact list of languages tbc)
  • More benchmarking options
  • More job types in career mode

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“When PC Building Simulator launches into Early Access we aim for it to be mostly feature complete and as polished as possible. During Early Access players will have access to:

  • A wide range of fully licensed PC hardware to build with, PC’s can be constructed and powered on to a (simulated) working operating system and include a range of simulated programs from benchmarking (including 3DMark) to control of any RGB lighting in the system.
  • ‘Career Mode’ with multiple job types from a range of customer types.
  • Free Build’ mode that allows players to experiment with any available parts currently in the game without any career mode restrictions.
  • ‘How to Build a PC’ mode to teach players how a PC goes together.
  • Game tutorial for new players.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There are no plans to raise the price after we exit early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Real-world PC building is a passion for so many people that we are keen to learn from our players what features we should be concentrating on to make sure PC Building Simulator is as accurate (and as fun) as possible.
Being a small team with a complex simulator it is important that we engage with our community so we can make the best decisions for the game going forward.”

Watch a video of the PC Gamer Weekender live stream!

Hello PC Builders,

We're at the PC Gamer Weekender in London this weekend, where the game is hands-on for the first time!

Feedback has been great and we've been noting down suggestions and comments from players (and finding some bugs of courses, oops). Also, Stuart and John from the development team took part in a stage talk and live stream yesterday!

You can watch a video of the live stream over on PC Gamer here: https://www.pcgamer.com/build-a-gaming-pc-in-a-game-with-pc-building-simulator/

In the stream they discus and demo a bunch of new features including the new workshop environment, licensed components, RGB lighting, benchmarking and more.

You asked, we listened! MSI is in the game!

Hello PC Builders!

As we’re only just over 6 weeks away from release, we’ve got another hardware manufacturer in addition to Futuremark, Cooler Master, EVGA, NZXT and Raijintek to join the PC Building Simulator project. This is one you’ve been asking about for a while and now it’s finally happened. We’re stoked to announce that the game will now feature MSI branded products!

PC Builders will now have the option to construct PCs in-game using MSI’s GeForce GTX 10 and Radeon RX GPUs. The powerful Z370 GAMING PRO CARBON & Z270 GAMING PRO CARBON motherboards will also be in the player’s inventory. These will be fully recreated and function within the simulation when the game launches via early access on March 27th.

Here’s the full trailer showing some of the MSI components in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ti7RwCNMhLI&feature=youtu.be

What do you think? Let us know in the comments.

We’re nearing closer to the early access release and it’s never too late to add PC Building Simulator to your Steam wishlists. For the latest news and updates, follow us on Facebook and Twitter!
