Om dette spillet

A Zoë Mode production for the video game charity initiative OneBigGame, Chime pits gamers against the melody in an all-new puzzle experience. Place blocks against the clock, complete solid quads and try to cover the whole playing surface, all the while remixing and embellishing pieces by musicians from across the planet. And you get to feel good about yourself, too: The console version of Chime was originally developed for OneBigGame with all the developer’s royalties going to Charity for sales up to June 2010, and Zoe Mode will continue to donate a proportion of its royalties (equivalent to 5% of purchase price) for sales of the Steam version. OneBigGame always aims to donate a minimum of 80% of all donations to its charity partners Save the Children and the Starlight Children's foundation.

Key features:

  • Puzzle: Rotate and place shapes to form solid quads and fill up the grid before the time runs out
  • Listen: Chime features music by Moby, Paul Hartnoll (Orbital), and more
  • Remix: Fill the grid to alter the track loop, place pieces to play notes, and create quads to trigger a range of song samples
  • Replay: Reset the grid by reaching 100% and continue playing and beat your high score
  • Experience: Each of the six unique levels is made up of its own music, grid, and shape sets, including the new Portal-inspired sixth level: “Still Alive”.
  • Free-play mode: Choose between three different levels of difficulty or just play for the sake of making music with no time pressure

A cute simple like shape based puzzle game with nice music. Nothing too fancy, and a pretty easy game.

Chime is an interactive music game that is super fun to play. Build up combos to embellish the song. The bigger the combo, the more embellishments. Watch out though! If you can't keep the combo going, unused blocks disappear and the music goes back to the way it was!

Amazingly fun. Wish there were more track but I definitely reccomend!

I have this on my PS3 and also have Child of Eden, with Lumines & Every Extended Extra on my PSP. This is a very addictive and time consuming game. You might think that getting all the level objectives is easy, yet it is not. Paying attention to creating non-fragment groups is thee most importat adivce I can give. One you have too many fragments you will surely not be able to make it. The key would be to start small and build large to stack that multiplier up high and get massive points before the time runs out. This is all about skill placement and also being able to use the entire board to clear it.

Don't pay attention to neg reviews, if you like skill puzzles this is for you! I personally also like Dark Souls, Fallout, and more so if that tells you anything I put this game right up there as if it was the Dark Souls of Puzzle Games.

Even now, when I want to relax with a casual game, this one is always at the top of my list. Well worth it.

Lumines, Meteos, Every Extended Extra, Rez and Child of Eden. This game is a love letter to Q Entertainment. (Because its not made by them)

Chime is a block dropping game in which not quite Tetris pieces are randomly given to you to place onto the board. The main goal is to create quadrilaterals using the slightly unfamiliar pieces. I should mention the blocks do not actually “drop” You can place them anywhere on the board and as such the possibilities are greater so the game demands your combos and coverage to be better than traditional “falling” block games.

This game takes from Lumines more than the others. You build quadrilaterals and then a timer starts until it becomes solid in which you must add to it before solidification for more points and combo scores. Once solid, a bar that sweeps the screen collects the solid stuff you have made. And this continues until you have amassed enough to unlock the next stage. Its unfortunate that even in free mode you cannot even preview what the next stages song will be as unlocking new stages requires play in the timed mode.

The reason I say it borrows from those games is because of how the gameplay is integrated into the music. The more elaborate the combos the more flare is added to the music; and the music is phenomenal.

THE GIST
I was pretty big into Lumines back during the days of the original PSP. And this game captures some of that original feeling. By that I mean a good but new sort of puzzle game that is not exactly Tetris or in this case not exactly Lumines.

I love this game. I have it for the PS3. It's too bad it freezes your pc upon exiting the game and/or will not start up properly. And you're stuck with a game you've paid for and can't play at all. I don't recommend anyone buying Chime for steam until these issues are resolved.

This is a fun puzzle game from what I've experienced so far. I'm not a huge fan of this type of game but it still was enjoyable to play. The description on the store page with the video, describe and display the gameplay very well but I have to say don't buy it.

Right now the game has a huge bug for at least Windows 10. It locks up my entire PC on exit. Even when starting the game and exiting immediately. I had to hold the power button to shut down the computer. I couldn't get out of the game any other way. I got this game in a bundle and am happy with how much I paid for it. If the massive bug gets fixed then I would say buy it (even at the $5 asking price). Until it gets fixed, I wouldn't purchase it unless you want to have to force your PC to shut down then re organize all of your desktop icons when you start your PC up again.

It's a fun, interesting music-based game. As you place things, the music "unfolds" into the full songs even while you continue to mash more shapes into the board. The longer time-limits can make the music get a tad grating, but this isn't the sort of game that's meant to be played for hours upon end as a hardcore-binge, but something to pick up and enjoy from time to time.

Awesome game. Just you and the blocks. And the time. Requires thinking, planning your moves. I highly recommend this game.

there's only a small handful of songs available in chime and no way to import your own so you'll burn through the game's content super quick, but it's pretty relaxing and worth occasional revisits to meditate to philip glass and tetris shapes i guess

This is an great and addicting game. At first glance I thought it was someone trying to recreate Tetris, but I was way wrong. My one fart about it is the Steam version is not as fun as the PS3 Deluxe version. A lot of the fun is had in co-op, but the Steam version is single player only. Still a great game.

I would love to see the Deluxe version on Steam too, and definitely DLC expansions with more levels and songs.

An hypnotic puzzle game I wasted hundred hours playing with. The last two levels will drive you mad but you'll enjoy a great soundtrack.

Chime is a little addictive puzzle game. It plays like Tetris. But it is more flexible. The pieces are shaped out of five squares. You have to build bigger blocks with them. There are six levels with different combinations of shapes. Music is part of the experience. It changes due to your progress. But it's still the same track. This could be annoying if you play Chime too much. In that case you can mute the music. There is some kind of mouse lag which depends on the level. Sometimes when you have no time this could be frustrating. But most of the time it is not. Nevertheless Chime is still a great game. Chasing your highscore is lot of fun.
