"Phenomenal, while it doesn't use it's space as well as the original, the Steam Workshop and mods allow for near infinite playtime worth every penny."

About This Game

Portal 2 draws from the award-winning formula of innovative gameplay, story, and music that earned the original Portal over 70 industry accolades and created a cult following.

The single-player portion of Portal 2 introduces a cast of dynamic new characters, a host of fresh puzzle elements, and a much larger set of devious test chambers. Players will explore never-before-seen areas of the Aperture Science Labs and be reunited with GLaDOS, the occasionally murderous computer companion who guided them through the original game.

The game’s two-player cooperative mode features its own entirely separate campaign with a unique story, test chambers, and two new player characters. This new mode forces players to reconsider everything they thought they knew about portals. Success will require them to not just act cooperatively, but to think cooperatively.

Product Features
  • Extensive single player: Featuring next generation gameplay and a wildly-engrossing story.
  • Complete two-person co-op: Multiplayer game featuring its own dedicated story, characters, and gameplay.
  • Advanced physics: Allows for the creation of a whole new range of interesting challenges, producing a much larger but not harder game.
  • Original music.
  • Massive sequel: The original Portal was named 2007's Game of the Year by over 30 publications worldwide.
  • Editing Tools: Portal 2 editing tools will be included.

Now that I've gotten all the achievements and given up so much of my life to science, it's time to review this outstanding game.

--Pros--
♥ Witty and honestly perfect dialogue
♥ Memorable characters and references
♥ potatoes
♥ Amazing soundtrack
♥ Creative puzzles
♥ Co-Op
♥ Cute mutants
♥ Lemons and a snazzy Cave
♥ $60
♥ You can seriously replay this game over and over again, I'm living proof of it with 150+ hours
♥ Amazing community maps that you can always play if you want more pizzazz

--Cons--
♦ Neurotoxin
♦ Being called fat
♦ The cake is a lie
♦ Does not include friends for co-op (But there's always a companion cube for you lonely people)
♦ You can't eat the potato
♦ Birds

Okay but seriously, this game will forever stay in my heart. Its originality and engrossing storyline is why it's so beloved by others. No matter what kind of gamer you are, and no matter what kind of mood you're in, you will enjoy the gameplay. Just trust me, try this game. You'll be GLaD you did. <3

Lemons, m♥ron, portal, cube, gel, portal, think, think, think! You're fat. Portal. Logic. Think hard! Potato. Push the button. Don't push the button.

Target lost.

Portal 2 is even better than Portal
Portal 2 is another game on my "must play" list. Portal was already incredible, yet somehow Valve managed to make the sequel exquisite.

Positive:
- Fluid, responsive controls
- Amazing puzzles, both for single player and co-op
- Great difficulty curve
- This time there is actually a story. We finally get to learn more about Aperture Science.
- Wheatley joins the party. In combination with GLaDOS, their unique personalities and humour just make Portal 2 incredible. Basically fantastic script and voice-acting.
- This is not just a remake of Portal. This time gels are added to put a unique touch on puzzles. Basically an upgrade in gameplay and difficulty.
- Co-op mode! Like single-player, the co-op mode is brilliantly designed, and addictively fun.
- Community-made maps (basically endless fun and challenges)
- Companion cube still loves you <3

Negative:
- Still no cake
- You require a competent buddy for co-op

Conclusion:
Valve really outdid themselves this time. There really isn't much else to say. The praise I gave in my Portal review is just as valid here, although it must be said that Portal 2 deserves even more praise. You would be a fool not to play Portal and Portal 2.

I love this game so much. Like, I could play this game every day for the rest of my life because of how much it offers. I would play Co-op with anyone. I've beat this game 5 times and I've speedrunned it. If I can't stress how much I love this game, I want to state that I really love this game.

Ughh until I do a proper review, WHICH I WILL. I can only say that this is truly a masterpeice, and I have no complain about this game. This is in my opinion the example of a perfect game.

I've gifted this game nearly 10 times now. I've made it my tradition to gift Portal 2 to any friend I introduce to steam to, and let me tell you know, each one of them ends up being an loving portal fan.

Buy this game, no questions. It's meta critic of 96 and the most positively review steam game for a reason!

Portal 2 is far more refined than its predecessor.

Better graphics. Granted the game did came out 4 years after.

Better humor. 81 min into the game I must have chuckled 4-5 times at GlaDOS's remarks.

Better physics. The cube and various objects **feel like** they bear actual weight this time.

Better puzzles. I no longer get disoriented solving them.

I actually care about Chell, that flying bot with blue eye and of course GlaDOS----this didn't happen while I was playing Portal.

While I'd gave Portal a borderline 6 / 10, I'm inclined to rate Porta 2 at least a 8.5 / 10.

The following wish is adequate and sufficient to describe my opinion about the game. I would give half of my remaining life time to be able to erase my memory of playing this game in order to play it like the first time.

I absolutely recommend this game for everyone! Thanks to Valve, thanks to all stuff who helped the production of this game! Enjoy!

This game is a must buy for anyone who likes games in general especially for the ones who likes puzzle games. The characters; even the dialogues are enjoyable, the puzzles are really great; it is definitely a masterpiece

Note: about the dialogue, actually they just talk to you without you talking back, but its still enjoyable tho

Just get it. Thats all I have to say. It has a great story line and some great mods that are out now and are being made. The game could be played over and over and challenge your friends with challenge mode recording your time and portals for indivual levels. There are some great easter eggs and funny moments. You should play Portal:Staying alive before you play this game, but is not required. Some of the story makes no sense because you havent played the first game. This game has community levels which makes it fun after you have played the whole game over and over. I would defiently get this game in a bundle but Ive got both Portal and Portal 2 on xbox360. It is currently $8.74 for a bundle which is totally worth it.

Step 1. Take every puzzle game ever, every sci-fi game ever and every physics game ever.
Step 2. Put all of them into a trash compactor and squash them into a big compacted cube.
Step 3. Bring the cube to a donut factory and glaze it with that sweet goodness.
Step 4. Take the glazed cube to a freakin wizard who will give the block magical properties.
Step 5. On that though, screw that, grab every magic potion you can find in his lair and drench the hell out of it.
Step 6. Sprinke sugar, spice and everything nice.
Step 7. Now, launch the cube in a space shuttle and send it on a space voyage to JUPITER!!
Step 8. Let the cube experience the inside and outs, ups and downs of all humanity's existence.
Step 9. After letting it experiencing life, let it take advantage of everything it now knows.
Step 10. The magical glazed cube them transforms itself into a magical pegasus and arises into the sky.
Step 11. Give the cube the sacred gifts of cake, a bubble blower and a lazer cannon.
Step 12. Bow down to the new ruler of the sky and now, every puzzle/physics game in existance.
Step 13. Vuala, you got Portal 2.

Excellent writing, great puzzles, and an infinite amount of community created singleplayer/co-op puzzles to solve after you've finished everything in the base game. A definite must-buy in my book and my personal GOTY of 2011.
