if your game crashes try this 1) Stereo Mix Glitch
- Go to Control Panel
- Go to Sound
- Go to the Recording tab
- If you do not see Stereo Mix, right click and select Show Disabled Devices
- Enable Stereo Mix
(If you still don't have Stereo Mix, you must plug in a mic and enable it)

2) Compatibility Glitch
- Go to your game directory in Steam, Steam apps, Common, Star Wars Battlefront II, GameData folder.
- Right click on the game exe, go to the Compatibility tab, and check run this program in compatibility mode.
- Then select Windows XP (Service Pack 2) or Windows XP (Service Pack 3).

Pros:
- Good-looking
- Tight controls
- Optional 1st or 3rd person view
- Very fun game play
- Original Star Wars soundtrack
- Epic fights on huge fronts
- Galactic Conquest
- Instant action playlists

Cons:
- No multiplayer support* (uses gamespy)
- Campaign lacks replayability
- No steam achievements

*There are 3rd-party applications which can allow multiplayer. I personally use GameRanger, which works great.

Summary
This game is a marvelous experience. The battles are massive, so you never feel like you're carrying your team when you put effort into a battle. Strategy and non-strategy are both viable ways of winning a game. It is unfortunate that it uses gamespy, however, because the game is no longer supported since it shut down. Achievements would provide some much-needed replay ability. Overall, though, one of the best games in my library by a long shot.

I can recommend every bit of this game (except those damn imperial missi-) EVERY PART OF THIS GAME IS GREAT!!

The controls feel really nice (except when there's no recoi-) SUPER NICE!!

There aren't many FPS games nowadays that can beat it (except Borderlands, Bioshock, First Assault, Battleborn, TF2, and even aspects of Co-) AT ALL!!

It's so great playing the heroes (besides Leia, Vader, Yoda, and generally everyone who isn't Boba Fe-) ALL THE HEROES!!

The graphics are the best there is (aside from, you know, that recent Battlefront game from E-) EVER!!!!!

I swear on my mum that this gets 100 points (outta like.. whatever leads to 70% reco-) OUT OF 100!!! PLAY IT!! (like, you know, at least once) FOREVER!!!

One of the best Star Wars games created, but there is plenty of flaws in the steam port. There is a issue with the audio when starting the game. Hands down you should purchase this if you want a smooth gameplay experience. :)
