one of the best Star Wars games along with Star Wars: Battlefront 2, it would be nice if Raven Software was still making great games like this instead of Call of Duty DLC. :(

Anyway I give this 10/10 Bacta Tanks.

Oh boy, here we go:

I would just like to point out that I don't write reviews, no matter how good a game is besides this one (It's that good). It was my first multiplayer game which I grew up with and meet awesome people that I talk to till this day.Singleplayer and multiplayer are both awesome even without the option of dual lightsabers and staff (I'm looking at you JKA).It's sequel puts this game to shame in my opinion because it simply didn't have any substance.I will stop myself before I go too deep into the other game before it's too late.Anyway, once you get tired of singleplayer you can then spawn a bunch of rebel and imperial armies and spectate the massacre or you may attempt to take on a reborn army by yourself while having the maximum gore, matrix spin command and god mode enabled.I assure you it will keep you entertained.Once you're done with that it's time to behold the divine radiance of the most angry, most unpleasant and most frag hungry community that dwells in the jk2 multiplayer. That is ofcourse, if you're playing the 1.02 version of the game.Other versions of the game feel and act as singleplayer while the 1.02 version is like combining quake and soul calibour but without a insane amounts possible combos you can perform.Multiplayer takes some time to get used to but it's worth it (tryhard intensifies).JK2 was praised for the way you used your force powers, you actually felt like a real jedi and it was awesome.Visuals aren't too impressive since it has aged a bit (2002).The story in singleplayer was decent but nothing too intriguing, also the weapons we're fun to use but ofcourse once you get your lightsaber back you don't want to use guns again. You progress through singleplayer in a typical fashion, and aquire a new force power after you complete each level.Level design was good but it didn't vary as much as I hoped it would. The game is easy to mod and gives you even more stuff to have fun with.Mapping isn't too hard as well, it all dependes how much ambition you have. You can also download a ridicilous amounts of mods for both singleplayer and multiplayer for even more fun.A hd remake of this game would mean serious cash for Lucas ar-I mean Disney.Unfortunately my review can't even give a close enough impression on exactly how devine this game is, 10/10 best game I have ever played, there's a special place in my heart for this game.

P.S: If you need any help with the multiplayer, patching or anything related to the game I will do everything in my power to help you if you ask nicely.

We don't make games as we used to anymore.

Having put over 75 hours into this game, it's about time i reviewed it. Don't expect much from me though, as i've never reviewed anything before.

Firstly, it's big, and it's beautiful. Yes, the graphics are dated, and can't compete at all in regards to most games nowadays, but, if like me, you regard graphics secondary to gameplay, then you wont be the least bit disappointed, because they still look great. At the risk of sounding sacreligious; i'm not that big of a Star Wars fan, so if you aren't either, don't worry...the way this game is executed, even if it had no Star Wars Related themes, it would still tower over many other Action / FPS games.

To sum it up:

Great dialogue throughout; keeping the story moving, interesting, and consistent.

So much to do, so so much! It's not the most challenging game out there, but there's barely any 'grinding'...the pace remains throughout, and some of the challenges will force you to engage your mind more than you would expect.

But most importantly! It's fun, and interesting.

10/10

This is one of the best games I have personally ever played! Dark Forces II:Jedi Knight was pretty groundbreaking but this took likesaber combat and force powers to a whole new level especially with the dismemberment code in the console you can hack storm troopers into tiny pieces and use the force push/pull to make a nice pile of stormtrooper xD I personally recommend the entire Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series.

Everyone needs to try this game. This game has everything and comes from a complete different angle than any other game before it. Yes the game is old, and yes it doesn't look as nice as some of the other games but try to look past that. The game play for this game is awesome and players really have to hone their skills if they want to stay on top. This game also has a very nice casual aspect of it which allows for tones of player to player communication and socialization. This game also has an interesting team aspect that allows for players to really work together in order to achieve victory. There are also tournaments hosted weekly by Pro@ which allow for people to show off their skills and also learn from other great players.I highly recommend this game.

Probably the best Star Wars game about being a scruffy-lookin' jedi mercenary.

I know my game time is very little, but I played this game on the OG XBox a whole bunch. As far as I could see, perfect PC settings-wise, haven't encountered an bugs thus far.

Seeing as it came out a long time ago, you might notice the slightly outdated resolution settings HOWEVER. I was till able to run it in 1440p

This game was a large portion of my OG gaming. Alongside goldeneye, this game is amazing considering it's age, and even better, if you can put graphics aside, you will have the ball of your life if you are a Star Wars fan!

I've compleated more than 10 playthoroughs of this game when I was about 15 and Star Wars were becoming cool again. More than 12 years later this game made me feel sorry about next-hen gaming, which will never give me this kind of fun and involvement. Everything about this game has aged quite a bit, but the core gameplay is timeless. Everything that you might consider as a flaw today is somehow balanced by something else, that is just unbeatable about this game:
- graphics is old - but you get to be a cool jedi with lightsaber and various force powers
- dialogs are aged and acting is so-so - but original SW music makes you feel great
- cutscenes are by all means outdated - but the story is timeless
Played this game as a kid and I loved it. I played it as adult, and I love it even more. I wish there were more games like this one.

This is one of the most enjoyable games I have ever played, and I just had to bought it on Steam as a tribute. I don't care about graphics, because this game is fun, has a good story and great gameplay; and of course, you get a lightsaber later in the game. It's not just shooting and slashing with lightsaber ( there is a lot of that though ) but you have to think and solve some puzzles to finish the levels. This is probably the best Star Wars game I have ever played. while KOTOR was great too, it wasn't quite enjoyable as this one, this is a faster game with more dynamics.

Initially I gave this game a negative review, but after giving Dark Forces a try and replaying Force Unleashed and then this, I'm feeling a lot more charitable towards it.

While my old criticisms still stand (the lightsaber duels being basically luck-based, a few overpowered enemies (particularly the snipers and the grenade-spamming space goats), and the stealth mission being the absolute worst idea the devs ever had), and while I still think that Jedi Academy has more polished gameplay, Jedi Outcast is still a very well put together installment, and considerably more substantial (Jedi Academy mostly being a series of brief "episodes" with full levels marking the main acts).

Interestingly, I find the game is at its best in the first two levels before you get any Force powers, where you're basically playing a graphically enhanced, more linear expansion to the original Dark Forces, making me feel oddly nostalgic about callbacks to a game I only played a few weeks ago. The level design is tighter there, giving the locales a sense of continuity and scale that later parts of the game are simply lacking. I think this can be attributed to the fact that with things like Force Jump in your arsenal, the developers felt they needed to give you wide-open spaces with which to take advantage of it, which turns the levels into the "squiggly linear corridor" school of lazy level design.

Even so, the levels are still fairly varied in their design, even if they feel more... "gamey" for a lack of a better word. Setpieces, not locations. Especially with the rampant Bottomless Pit abuse. Include more than one completely nonsensical example where you know said pit couldn't possibly fit in the dimensions of the location you're in, like onboard the Doomgiver, a ship that's maybe 5 stories tall at most given the orbital drop pods visible on its underside.

But that's nitpicking. The Dark Forces Saga is still probably the most EU-friendly entry into the Star Wars gaming library, and Kyle Katarn is still likable badass. Jedi Outcast is not without its major flaws, but if you can stomach them I can't in good conscience call it a bad game.

Probably my best Action Star Wars game.

What to love:
+ Kick ♥♥♥ sword fighting
+ Nice level designs that mixes discovery, platforming and action together.
+ Force powers with every new level
+ Various Star Wars locations
+ Community mods

What to hate:
- The Nar Shaddaa level has ridicolous snipers
- If you are unfamiliar with classic FPS games and your first FPS games were Call of Duty 4 (and onward) then you may hate this game because it has no location pointer, no health regenration, complex level design, and lots of situation where you are basically out numbered.

While this continue after JK1 events, I think you could play it and enjoy its plot. The plot is not complicated anyways and it is enough if you just watched the old trilogy (Ep 4,5,6).
