Sure the graphics are outdated, but you don't play this game for the graphics, it's all about the story, the setting and letting your imagination run wild.
From vehicles in the desert to iconic music and locations, this game has it all.
Explore the wonders of the Force as you learn the ways of the Jedi, then abandon it all for the true power: GUNS. That annoying sith warrior keeps killing you? Bomb him to oblivion, Stormtoopers? Shoot them with bigger guns. It works to certain extent, but guns are no match to the higher level sith warriors you face late game. It's just great and so refreshing to have the option to use different weapons. :)
Enter Darth Vader's castle in Vjun ad fight your way through. Then feel like a badass when you finally get good with the lightsaber. Combat is amazing and truly evokes the feeling of being a Jedi.
It brought up a constant feeling of wonder. Temples, deserts, forests, space stations, frozen wastes. The galaxy is yours to explore as you complete missions on your way to earn the title of Jedi Knight. This is a great game and I enjoyed it very much. I hope that we can see a new entry in this series soon. If you like Star Wars, this is a must. If you're an RPG fan like me, this is grade A right here.

This game has the BEST Lightsaber combat you will ever endure in any Star Wars Game yet to date.

The story actually takes place after The Galactic Civil War, thus, meaning that their are EU characters starring in this game which may stray some average Star Wars fans away. But other than that, the game offers a plentiful story and some recognizable characters to say the least, and Kyle Katarn, the cocky but wise Jedi whom was the protagonist in Jedi Outcast.

I could go on and on about this game, but honestly if you know a bit of the EU enough to tolerate most of the characters in the game, pick it up. If you'd like to have a fresh new experience on a game that features very impressive lightsaber combat even in today's standards, pick it up.

I loved this game long ago; the singleplayer is as novel and interesting as everyone attests and the vanilla muliplayer is great couch-versus fun. With the mod MovieBattlesII, it is now essentially the best Battlefront-esque game you can play with a small and fairly active group of veterans and casuals to test your mettle against.

The mod overhauls the vanilla saber combat into a really deep and intuitive new system which is unforgiving to newbies but very satisfying to learn the secrets and techniques. The extended duels always make me feel like I'm in an actual lightsaber battle, even when I lose my head (literally!).
Each side also has 6(!!!) other classes with guns, including jetpack-equipped Mandolorians and Droidekas. But sabers is why I still play.

Give it a go, it hasn't disappointed in 13 years.

Literally one of the best Star Wars games every made. I'm convinced that if this game had been made with the same vision but with todays tech and knowledge, this could certainly be a masterpiece of gaming. It's a little rough around the edges given the era it was made, but honestly I've yet to find any game that makes me feel like as much of a jedi as this one.

Plus there's nothing like playing with friends and force choking them while you slowly lower them into a pit of doom

10/10

Overall I have to say I liked the game. It definitely has some oddities and issues but it's not overly bad. Not perfect though either.
Pros
1) It's a neat romp through being a jedi.
2) Some interesting missions where you meet classic Star Wars characters like Chewbacca, Wedge Antilles, and Boba Fett.
3) Some other missions that are just interesting, in and of themselves, just from setting an circumstance.
4)No live action cutscenes like the awful ones in Dark Forces II.
5)Chewbacca is listed in the credits as having voiced himself.
6) A large array of weapons to choose from like Wookie Bowcasters, and this one weapons that shoots a blue beam and wrecks anyone who even stands near it.
7) You can use Jedi Mind Trick to makes any enemy that's not a dark jedi join your side and attack their friends, and it is the most useful ability right next to heal in just how OP it is.
8) The story is, well it's not the most wonderful story ever written in the Star Wars Universe, but it's okay. It's not dog doo like some unfortunate SW things we don't ever speak of. If you don't mind a story that has you fighting a cult that apparently has more dark jedi than there are actual jedi and a Sith Lord's Force Ghost(Sorta, he's a bit Skeleton-ish) then you should be fine.
9) I came across the boss battle for Hoth and won it in about 3 seconds by jumping on her head, then stabbing her with the lightsaber while she was on the ground. So yeah, that's a pretty effective strategy. I suggest jumping on people's heads as much as possible.
Cons
1)It's major failing is that it did the same mistake that earlier games also made(Such as Dark Forces II). And that is that the Lightsaber blocks automatically. It ♥♥♥♥s you over. Because then you end up getting shot and you don't really have any control over the 1 line of defense you have. Games like Battlefront II and Force Unleashed fixed that by giving you a block button. This doesn't have that and it makes lightsaber combat so much more ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t than it could have been. Also it's kind of unclear how fighting works when you fight someone who also uses a lightsaber. You just kind of jump around and keep swinging until they go down, and running away to heal if that doesn't work out. Once your combat level goes up this gets easier against weak dark jedi but remains an issue.
2) You will probably have to remap the controls, because they were seemingly chosen randomly.
3) Remember how I said there was an awesome array of weapons like missile launchers, trip mines, and that blue beam one that wrecks shop? Yeah they don't do ♥♥♥♥ to dark jedi. It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t. You have to use your lightsaber, or else they just deflect it back to you regardless of what it is. Not just blaster bolts. Mines and grenades will fly in your direction, missiles will come soaring into your face, and that awesome blue concussion gun that's a one hit KO for anyone not in a super heavy armor suit and should not be deflectable by some no name, just got his lightsaber, weak ♥♥♥ dark jedi? Yeah that becomes a 1-hit KO for you as it comes back to bite you. Blaster bolts I could understand. Giving boss Dark Jedi and the more powerful ones it I could understand. But the way it's thrown in here basically makes every weapon that's not your lightsaber nearly useless once you reach a certain point.
4) The character customization is, well not really all that much there. You have the choices of Human Male, Human Female, Zabrak Female, Twi'lek Female, Rodian Male, Kel Dor Male. Which is a very random assortment. You cannot change anything about the models they give you besides clothes and the color of the clothes(On the Twi'lek it changes skin color rather than clothes color.) If you wanna be a wookie, or a Zabrak Male like Darth Maul, you're out of luck. So yeah, makes you wonder why they bothered putting it in at all when there's so little to choose. I mean that's less options that KOTOR and that came out before didn't it? Not entirely sure.

In Conclusion.
Might wanna get this when it's on sale in that Jedi Knight Bundle. It's not the best star wars game out there, especially when it comes to lightsabers, but it's not bad and they made some steps in the right direction.

A classic game with graphics that were amazing for the time. Music that reminds you of the days of old. Gameplay is on par with the Knight series in that its fun as all hell no matter how you play. The story is solid and while non canon, is still very enjoyable with a solid time to completion. Customization furthers how the story goes slightly as well. Mods as well further the games playability and enjoyment. The multiplayer also does the same, especially when considering mods. A must play for any Star Wars fans. 5/5

Clunky as hell. I so wanted to like this game because it's focused, as far as I can tell, almost exclusively on Jedi combat, but the mechanics are awful.

Best Star Wars game ever? It's a decent argument with KOTOR but I feel like this game can stand next to anything in the SW franchise and go toe to toe. The story line is engaging and you really have the freedom to build your character the way you would like. While it might seem choppy to kids today I remember being amazed by the lightsaber work in this game and despite your feelings on the smoothness you can have a good time with these mechanics. Pulling off combos with the force powers/lightsaber is really fun and rewarding. Bought this on console recently and it's almost as fun which is a testimate to the quality of this game.
