Finally, you have two lightsabres or dual lightsaber just as Darth Maul had, you can customize them, just as you can do with your character. The story isnt not so strongly bind together as in Jedi Outcast, but at least you will visit many more Star Wars worlds. Every encounter with Siths is its own reward for you to enjoy the fighting system.

This has without a doubt has the best lightsaber combat system. It doesn't feel like a hack and slash like most sword fighting games, it feels like you actually have to be skilled at their system do succeed.

This game is a ton of fun and is still one of the best star wars games out there. The single player is fun to mess around with and play till you beat it but the multiplayer is where the fun is really at. There are still a ton of people who still play the game so you can hop right into a server and start fighting. The saber combat is incredible, Fluent and a ton of fun to playb with. If you think you are going to lose a battle one good timed and placed swing can even the match quickly. For how cheap it is I think it is a game worth checking out.

Don't bother buying this if your looking to play solo against bots and just cut off limbs and such.

Cfg files wont work with it in multiplayer, only single player storymode.

Jedi Academy gives you more possibilities than Jedi Outcast such as force powers, saber type, and great commuinity mods from sites like jkhub. For those who want the multiplayer it is more about mods like MovieBattles2. Story isnt as good as Jedi Outcast but is just as much fun if not more.

This is possibly one of the greatest star wars games ever conceived i've been playing this game since it launched back in 2003 via the discs, only recently gotten the steam version but Jedi Academy is the pinnacle of Lightsaber combat in any star wars game and no game will ever match it again. Do yourself a favor and get Jedi Academy and the entire Jedi Knight series as a whole they are all worth it.

I am an avid Star Wars fan but I had never played this before. I just completed the single player campaign and the story was epic. For once they didn't copy other story plots from other movies, it was sort of original.

The combat is what is the most fun aspect of this game. And I feel the graphics are still "good" enough for today's technology. Also when you are done with the game pick up Star Wars Movie Battles II, an awesome mod with endless hours of Jedi slaying. I think it's more satisfying than "Battlefront". Did I say you can slay Jedi in this?

Classic Star Wars game using the Quake III engine. Despite its age; the saber combat still is better than the Force Unleashed games. One well placed saber blow can be lethal like the in movies.

Single Player is fun to mess around in but MP is where its at. The game still has a small active community. The community is kinda cringey though.. They have a silly Bushido-esque honor code that's enforced like a religion on all the servers.

IMHO, even though this game is 12 years old it is still better than the new Star Wars Battlefront.

The best game I've ever played, & the multiplayer is the best.

Using the saber alone without force powers is tough enough. I've been playing the game now for many years & it still has me hooked. Someday I hope they make an mmo with the same combat mechanics.

Purchased as part of a bundle at some point in the distant past, excellent graphics and music. Game play is standard Quake III engine based, great story as well. Some wonkyness when modding INI files to get up to 4K resolutions, however, game still looks fantastic!

Highly suggest if you played 13 years ago and love this title, or, are into anything Star Wars related, has aged better than most titles from 2003.

I had real fun through out the story line. I love how you can choose what lightsaber style you want and what kind of lightsaber you want and the color and everything. This game is worth the money!

"REMEMBER, ABILITIES AREN'T INHERENTLY GOOD OR EVIL... IT'S HOW YOU USE THEM

-Jedi Academy is the follow up to Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. It uses the same assets and--with the exception of two new lightsaber styles--has mostly the same gameplay. The graphics haven't aged well and weren't that great to begin with. The script is poorly written and the acting is terrible. Level design is hit or miss, with many platforming sections that just don't work and one vehicular segment that is god-awful. There's a lot wrong with this game.
-But stay with me here.
-Jedi Academy, despite it's numerous flaws, is one of the most entertaining Star Wars games in existence. It, along with Jedi Outcast, nail lightsaber combat with a very responsive system where every directional movement cooresponds with a unique saber slash. The force abilities aren't balanced that well, but they work well in the flow of combat.
-You will enjoy destroying many stormtroopers, as they are the general cannon fodder of the game. After that, you will enjoy fighting dark jedi who become increasingly more frequent as the game goes on. Play your cards right in the end and you will be fighting four or five at a time in frantic combat.
-Along with the saber you can use a variety of weapons, but really they're only useful for certain segments. 99% of the game will be spent chopping people up, and that's okay.
-The story isn't all that compelling, though it has a few parts with great ideas. Kyle Katarn is at your side for a large portion of the game, though often you'll feel annoyed that you aren't playing as him. While you get to create your character's appearance and saber style, you have no control over who they are. Jaden, the main character, is essentially a blank slate who has been victim of incredibly lazy writing. It's hard to tell who to blame for the shoddy voice acting, but it seems like the direction of the script really didn't give anyone room to work with. All the story cutscenes use in-game engine graphics and animations, so it leads to very wooden conversations and some hilariously bad acrobatics.
-If you can get over the half-♥♥♥♥♥ story you'll get to experience some great combat and a unique handful of levels that go across several different planets. Even if you don't like Star Wars, this is something you could probably get into. Anyone with an appreciation for melee combat done right will find something to like here. Even if you don't care for the story, there's always online multiplayer (which I hear is still active) to participate in.

FINAL VERDICT
-Lots of flaws with this one, but it's a rough gem. Not many Star Wars game are this enjoyable. If you're looking for a good fix for Jedi action, skip buying the new Battlefront and give this one a try. It's a better game--cheaper too. While I'd ultimately say Jedi Outcast is the better one, Jedi Academy undisputably is more accessible and consistently entertaining. Give it a shot.

- Bought Game

- Signed my name on a wall with Lightsaber

- Trolled NPC's by shoving lightsaber in them

- Game got angry that I carved my name in every wall in the game

- Crashed and I could never play it again

[10/10] Would buy this game again so I could carve my name in a wall with a lightsaber.

Best Star Wars game ever made, perhaps tied with the KOTOR series for story. This brings the most amazing saber mechanics to date, and once you get tired of the amazing single player, it is unimaginably moddable, and many mods such as Evolution of Combat, or Movie Battles II, bring even more of its potential out. I greatly recommend this game, and hope that some EA representative comes across this game, and utilizes the mechanics in future star wars games.

This game strangely has one of the most active modding communities ever. I recomend getting some, You may just want something nice before you start like enableing red lightsabers, or you might play as Luigi running through jurassic park,
I had this as a kid but it was stolen from me. I found it again. It's awesome.
And if you have problems launching it, it's not that hard of a fix just look it up.
