Why Early Access?

“We’ve learnt that when developing VR games, you have to gather feedback from the players as soon as possible. We want to make sure that all the solutions and features we provide are fun to play, add to the immersion and meet the players' expectations. We’re also open to players’ ideas and suggestions for future content updates.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We'll release the full version of The Wizards as soon as we implement all the planned content updates as well as improvements and new features based on players’ feedback. Early Access period shouldn't last longer than 5-6 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add following features:

  • Free movement - for more details please check out this post
  • New Regions - two exciting story chapters divided into stages, featuring new challenges and enemy types
  • Arcade Mode - endless arena battles on new maps for those who never get enough of spell fighting
  • Master Enchantments - six new powerfull spell upgrades for ultimate wizardry
  • New Fate Cards - additional set of game modifiers that let players experience completely new battles

We also want to implement content based on players’ ideas, be it new spells, new enemies, new challenges etc.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable and contains most of the planned mechanics and features, including:

  • Campaign mode with two Regions divided into stages + cutscenes, tutorial, shooting range and the Wizard’s tower.
  • Six basic spells with upgrades for each spell
  • Fate Cards that allow players to modify the rules of the game and gain more points
  • Online leaderboard that allows players to compete with high scores

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The final price may change slightly depending on amount of new content and features added during Early Access period.”

Free Locomotion Beta

Patch 1.02 is Live!

Brave Wizards!

Thank you for your amazing support and constructive feedback. We've just released a patch that fixes reported bugs and improves casting spells.

We'd also like to ensure you that we're working on adding free movement in full swing and this update should be ready in a few weeks. You can let us know what things should we fix in the next patch. Future content updates will come after implementation of free movement.

[update] We've pushed another small patch with bugfixes. Details below.

Patch 1.01 Changelog:

  • Added note informing about early access upon startup
  • Added scoreboard next to the level summary after each stage
  • Teleporters next to the crystal encounter are now easier to notice on stage Ruins 0
  • Added missing Motion Controller vibrations to world interactions
  • Changed interactive torches’ burn time from 4 to 10 seconds

  • Added missing Motion Controller vibrations to some spells

  • Pyroblast:
    - Slightly reduced the maximal size
    - Moved the orb slightly from the head in order not to clip into the player’s camera

  • Frost Bow:
    - Added visual effects indicating how many arrows can be shot
    - Increased the size of the quiver area behind player’s head
    - Added the ability to grab arrows using Trigger on the Motion Controller
    - Slightly increased gesture error tolerance while casting
    - Improved Frost Bow’s behaviour when firing arrows in a rapid succession

  • Arcane Missiles: Slightly increased gesture error tolerance while casting

Patch 1.02 Changelog:
  • Fixed the bug making Pause Menu in HUB non-interactive
  • Early Access disclaimer is now translated to German and Chinese
  • All spells got a little bigger error tolerance while casting
  • Fireball and Pyroblast should now be easier to cast
  • Opening Pause Menu while holding bow will no longer duplicate arrow counter.
