Why Early Access?

“We’ve learnt that when developing VR games, you have to gather feedback from the players as soon as possible. We want to make sure that all the solutions and features we provide are fun to play, add to the immersion and meet the players' expectations. We’re also open to players’ ideas and suggestions for future content updates.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We'll release the full version of The Wizards as soon as we implement all the planned content updates as well as improvements and new features based on players’ feedback. Early Access period shouldn't last longer than 5-6 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add following features:

  • New Regions - two exciting story chapters divided into stages, featuring new challenges and enemy types
  • Master Enchantments - six new powerfull spell upgrades for ultimate wizardry
  • New Fate Cards - additional set of game modifiers that let players experience completely new battles

We also want to implement content based on players’ ideas, be it new spells, new enemies, new challenges etc.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable and contains most of the planned mechanics and features, including:

  • Campaign mode with two Regions divided into stages + cutscenes, tutorial, shooting range and the Wizard’s tower.
  • Arcade Mode - endless arena battles for those who never get enough of spell fighting
  • Six basic spells with upgrades for each spell
  • Fate Cards that allow players to modify the rules of the game and gain more points
  • Online leaderboard that allows players to compete with high scores
  • Free movement and free teleportation locomotion

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The final price may change slightly depending on amount of new content and features added during Early Access period.”

Mixed Reality Magic



Dear Wizards!

Today we have a special announcement for the early adopters that got themselves Microsoft Mixed Reality headsets. We're happy to confirm that our game is fully playable and runs like a charm with MR hardware. (Minor bugs are expected during the beta)

Update 1.2: Arena Mode!



Brave Wizards!

It's been quite an adventure for our team since the Early Access release roughly three months ago. We have slightly altered our initial plan of updates to introduce free locomotion that was requested by many of you.

Today, we're proud to roll out the first major update with new content we've promised to add during Early Access. We invite you to assail with endless hordes of enemies on two brand new battle arenas!

Arena Mode (formerly Arcade Mode) introduces two arenas, new hub, unique Fate Cards and progress system independent of the campaign. Each arena has it's own objective:

Mountainpass Castle (Point Defense)
You have to defend 3 crystals spread across the map with paths changing with each wave.



Crystal Caverns (Seek & Destroy)
Look for corrupted crystals and destroy them before there is too many.




What's next?
Our plan is to keep delivering content promised for the Early Access along with bug fixes and improvements suggested by you, dear players. In around four weeks we plan to roll out next major update introducing third Region (story chapter) to the game.

Update 1.2 Changelog:

MAJOR CHANGES
  • Brand new Arena Mode with two battle arenas
  • Improved throwing with the fireball
  • Improved optimization throughout the game
  • Visual tweaks for spells and levels
  • You can no longer get hit by the falling bell

  • Movement
    - Teleportation range shortens with each teleportation (only in combat)
    - Teleportation indicator changes color when player is in combat
    - Minor fixes on levels and in navigation

  • World interactions
    - Fireball and Pyroblast are now extinguished upon touching water
    - Books and scrolls are now flammable
    - Fairy shards already found earlier now spawn facing the player

SPELLS
  • Added the ability to adjust aim assist in general options
  • Added controller rumble to drawing Frost Bow and releasing an arrow
  • Improved explosion visuals of various spells
Fireball:
  • Improved throwing while moving
  • Improved throwing overall
  • Improved explosion visuals
  • Fixed timing on charging effects

ENEMIES
  • Added Troll Shaman - new ranged enemy who summons explosive traps under your feet
  • Added new variation of the basic enemy with plate armor and additional HP
  • Spellcatcher now has a tooltip that shows up when player has trouble fighting it
  • Minor AI fixes.

KNOWN ISSUES
  • Arena Mode can still be a little bit unbalanced. We're looking forward to your feedback and ideas for improvements.
  • “Level of Details” of objects need changes. Currently textures change quality at player’s eyes.
