What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“This release is a minimum viable product (MVP), that has enough features to be considered as such.
The important thing in this release is being able to play a game from start to finish, with convincing AI and the 2 player element good enough to have 2 people want to play for 10-20 overs each. This is a casual game, so please consider that when viewing the product.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game will be in early access for between 6-9 months. That gives me time to create decent depth, not rushed to market. This also means I can analyse and work with suggestions from the community without rushing.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Consider this the MVP release. Currently, there are many features over and above other games of the same type, but that does not mean it's good enough to be considered final.

Some ideas for adding depth to the game:

* Teams selection
* Full scoreboards
* Having 2 batters out on the field, building partnerships and the score
* More bowling depth
* Better Fielding AI
* Improved fielder graphics
* Better overall graphics and effects
* Power ups and other fun game elements”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The early access version has the base gameplay working:

* 1 or 2 players
* Difficulty settings
* VR Batting
* Bowling with customisable options for the desktop player
* Fielding AI
* Many Steam Achievements and Leaderboard items”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I will raise the price as new content and features are implemented.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Feedback is essential. This will help me build out the features coming up and also improve the game-play for stuff I have missed.
I wont ever be trying to build a new Don Bradman cricket or the next triple A cricket simulation. There are teams at big companies with time and specific skills who will do this and charge accordingly.

I do want to make a well fleshed out casual game that is fun to play either by yourself or with a mate so I welcome the feedback to improve the game.”

Batting position change and other future updates

Hi all,

I have made a change to the batting setup. Between each over you can chage the batting base position.

This is something for the standing experience version.
For room scale you likely wont need to adjust it.

My next 2 focus areas are

* online multiplayer.
* a replay system to see your shot.

Cheers

Game updates

Hi all,

I have added some fixes to the game.

* It is easy to smack a six most of the time, even on the hard level. To address this I have added a change to the cricket bat. It now has the concept of a sweet spot. You will get haptic feedback from the controller. Now you will need to time your shots better.

* In easy mode, the fielders are slightly faster.

* AI smarter - The fielders have stopped being complete peanuts. They will adjust their positions if you hit a 4 or 6.

* As you go down the order the batters get worse. Your opener can hit the ball well, your number 6 not as well.

* Generally Improved graphics. You should have a smoother experience now.

Any issues please let me know asap.
Cheers
